Before today my phone had this really cool feature where if my phone autocorrected a word, then I could hit the backspace button immediately after and it would revert the word back to its original form. But now it updated last night and that feature is gone.

My title is as it is because, no matter how concise your search is, on here, or on google, searching ANYTHING for turning off autocorrect will give you results for every other device in the universe but the s6.
The menu is different, the settings are different, there is no "auto-complete" in the menu...the way you do it s5 and prior does NOT apply. Turning off some other option, like the auto-predict, auto-capitolize, etc, etc...does NOT work.
S5, US, Verizon unmodified in anyway
Whenever I type a word with an apostrophe (I'll, we'll, Don't etc) the regular on board keyboard corrects it to something like I'I'll we'we'll and don'don't every time. I have, when I've noticed the suggestion appear, attempted to delete these words from the user dictionary but they keep coming back. I can't even find access to the entire user dictionary to delete there, just the suggestion bar.
It's very annoying as I keep getting doubled words when typing fast. It's only happening on apostrophe words and I never "taught" those words to my phone.
It's like it is trying to correct by replacing the correct word's last letter with the entire word.
If I press a character immediately after pressing backspace (on the default Samsung keyboard), the backspace triggers twice before adding the character. If I take a moment between backspace and the next key, it is fine, but if they're hit in rapid succession, then this happens.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy autocorrect has taken on a mind of it's own, and will now change perfectly fine words to completely different ones. It will change "it" to "is" or "bad" to "sad" and many other unnecessary changes. Today was the final straw, it changed "there" to "their". when the sentence was, "He's been upset since he got there." So it's not as if it was being smart enough to replace the proper tense, it was just wrong! Will there been an improvement with autocorrect in the next update, because I've decided to turn it off until this madness stops.

When I create a new contact, and when I press backspace to correct a mistake in a field, it deletes the required letter but jumps off to the next field. For example. If the name is "John Evans" And if I typed Johb, when I click backspace, it becomes Joh, but the cursor goes to the "Last name" field automatically. I thought they will rectify it in 8.1.2. But the problem still persists.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI am having a situation I was wondering if others might be experiencing. At home I am using a Linksys Router running a variant of the Tomato firmware which allows me to monitor the amount of traffic coming and going on our internet service. If I am streaming a 128k radio station, I see a nice steady stream of data being downloaded by the phone, but then at some point, randomly triggered, the app will pause to rebuffer the stream. After a few seconds the stream continues to play BUT the monitor graph on the router drops off towards zero. The stream will continue playing but the data is NOT coming from the wifi router. The router did not experience any issues because other devices on the network continue with incident.
I have gotten into the habit of when I get home, I turn off carrier data. The stream will play the entire length of the hockey game without a skip, but when I enable carrier data, at some point during the game, the stream will pause, rebuffer and continue using carrier data and not wifi data.
I decided to replace the default wallpaper with something more appealing and so took a picture with the phone's camera and set it as the wallpaper. Later on, when I came to use the phone again I found it had reverted to the default wallpaper. The phone had not been switched off meantime. I reset the wallpaper again and, again, later on, I found it had reverted again. I store my camera images on the memory card (Sandisk 8GB) and have had no problems with any other data stored on the card. However, just in case the phone was having sporadic problems not being able instantly to read the card and so thinking it wasn't there, I copied the image to the phone's memory. I'm now waiting to see if it happens again. I can't upgrade the software to the latest release (R12) as I am on Tesco Mobile and their latest customised version of S60 is still based on R11.
View 8 Replies View RelatedHappens now at least once a day. I open the phone and there is the old red wallpaper in place of my chosen image.
Yesterday it would not let me change it back. I'd do the wallpaper selection routine and pick one of the other stock images, say set wallpaper and when I'm done the old red is still there. Then all of a sudden a few hours later it decides to let me change the image.
I have an iPhone 5c and today my settings changed automatically by themselves and when I have attempted to change them back they will not stick. Â Specifically my battery percentage has disappeared and my message settings have changed as well. I had my settings to where there would be no message preview but now there is a preview and I am unable to change them back when I select those options. I change the setting back to how it was but then it reverts to how it automatically changed. Â

iPhone 5, iOS 7.1.1 or even other iPhone versions. Sometimes - it becomes more frequent - when I turn on the screen (the phone was on standby) and I start giving some input (e.g. sliding to unlock or entering the PIN) it will recognise my input, but then rejects it. For example when I want to unlock, I slide and when I lift my finger it rejects my input by sliding back to the start position. Another example is when entering the PIN (this happened once).
I started entering the numbers and when reaching the 4th, the input gets rejected (the last circle fills up and gets empty again). I also had it once when I had my phone unlocked already and I was looking at my home screen, sliding to the right - got rejected and landed on the first screen. When this happens the workaround is easy, putting my phone into standby and bring it back up and everything is fine. I have the suspicion, that there is a timer triggered or there should be a popup appearing - which is not coming up. And just for the record, my iPhone is not jailbroken or something.

When I try to open my Mail icon on my IPhone 4S, there is a blank screen, then reverts back to the home screen.
I have tried the hard restart over 4 times, checked all settings. My iPad works fine. This issue started late last night after reviewing a large file.

When your typing on the laptop dock 100 using the Photon it often reverts back to other parts of your sentence. Which my cause you to start typing anywhere in sentense. For instance if your typing the the Sentence ( I really like my laptop dock but) while your about to type a word after your last in may revert back to maybe like and continue your typing. Which messes up everything. It does it often. I returned one laptop dock and received another one but it still doing the same think. There doesn't seem to be nothing in setting on phone or dock that I see could help with this.

I got my S6 the week it came out, so I've had it for a decent amount of time, without any problems until last week. One day I experienced a sharp battery drain, and plugged it in my PC to charge. To my surprise it wouldn't charge! It shows that it's charging, but it wont go up in charge. The only way to charge it now is with its own fast charger. I fiddled with it a bit, (cleared cache, uninstalled apps, etc. ) and I can say the battery drain problem seems to be fixed for now. But I'm still unable to charge it up via the PC (or a laptop) USB port.

View 2 Replies View Relatedmy phone won't vibrate on notifications or calls anymore and it's killing me. settings > sound > vibration is set to 'always'. i didn't drop the phone or anything, so i don't know what it could be. the vibrating phone icon is visible on the top bar too.i'm using go sms pro and have that set to vibrate always, and even if i run the test notification, it says that vibrate is on, but it doesn't actually vibrate.

View 2 Replies View RelatedToday the native calendar (green one) on my Galaxy S5 stopped syncing with my Google calendar. When I checked the settings there were no calendars listed. When I try to add a calendar, the app crashes. In addition to that, all the appointments on my phone have been deleted. The calendar is version 1.0.
It also will not sync to Outlook, which it had done previously.
