Galaxy S6 :: Change From Autocorrect When Text Messaging?
Nov 12, 2015How do I change from auto correct when text messaging?
View 3 RepliesHow do I change from auto correct when text messaging?
View 3 RepliesOkay so my problem is that I don't know how to change the favourite text message contact, the one that pops up when you've written your message and are about to send it, in order: "Contacts", "Favourite", "Last used", "Number or email" etc.
The problem is, it isn't one of the favourites that you can add to the widget on the opening screen. If I have the fave widget on my screen, they're all empty.
Anyone know how and where I could change this contact or remove the fave alltogether?
I've just registered on here after searching for a similar issue without luck, so apologies if I've missed a thread!Carried out the 2.1 upgrade the other night, and since then whenever I write a text message, the suggested word box only gives me words from my contacts list. e.g. if I write "to" the phone suggest "Tommy" and I then need to manually select "to" from the list of words.
It makes no difference whether I have the spellcheck set to auto, manual or off I get the same suggested list - it's as if the phone has lost its dictionary, and can only use the contacts list as a point of reference.
I dont like the conversation set up in in text messaging, is there anyway you can change the settings to just show the messages instead of being grouped as a conversation?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, simple question, is there, or is there not a way to turn off auto-correct on the S6, for the Swype keyboard?
My title is as it is because, no matter how concise your search is, on here, or on google, searching ANYTHING for turning off autocorrect will give you results for every other device in the universe but the s6.
The menu is different, the settings are different, there is no "auto-complete" in the menu...the way you do it s5 and prior does NOT apply. Turning off some other option, like the auto-predict, auto-capitolize, etc, etc...does NOT work.
S5, US, Verizon unmodified in anyway
Whenever I type a word with an apostrophe (I'll, we'll, Don't etc) the regular on board keyboard corrects it to something like I'I'll we'we'll and don'don't every time. I have, when I've noticed the suggestion appear, attempted to delete these words from the user dictionary but they keep coming back. I can't even find access to the entire user dictionary to delete there, just the suggestion bar.
It's very annoying as I keep getting doubled words when typing fast. It's only happening on apostrophe words and I never "taught" those words to my phone.
It's like it is trying to correct by replacing the correct word's last letter with the entire word.
How do I change the default text color in messaging on a Nuron 5230?If that cannot be done in settings, can it be done with a theme? What is required to make themes, and/or edit them?
View 4 Replies View RelatedBefore today my phone had this really cool feature where if my phone autocorrected a word, then I could hit the backspace button immediately after and it would revert the word back to its original form. But now it updated last night and that feature is gone.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Galaxy S6 Edge and am really liking it so far. However the one thing (so far) that I don't like is that I cannot use a 3rd party application to listen to my voice mails. My provider sends my voice messages as an AMR attachment in an MMS. When playing the AMR attachment the default app is sound player (I think), which plays the audio through the external speaker. With other phones I have had great success with WavPlayer which allows switching between the external speaker and the ear speaker. It will even allow you to switch automatically if it detects you raising the phone to your ear.
In short I want to use WavPlayer instead of the default app for listening to my voicemails from the messages app but have not figured out how to accomplish this.
in the settings on s4 it had a signature block so everytime I sent a text, it was there but not on this phone

View 6 Replies View RelatedHow to resize it and keep it that way? I use the pinch feature to make it smaller but when I exit the app and go back to it it reverts back to the default size. I went into the settings and there is a font size selection, but it never changes the size.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an unusual issue I would like some assistance on since I just got a blackberry, I have the Curve 2 8530. I use Total Call Blocking with my carrier so that when I call anyone my number is automatically blocked / restricted. Therefore, in my contact list, I have my friends or family contacts listed with the *82 in front of the number to unblock for those people. This works fine for phone calls.
However, on Text Messaging / Picture Messaging, the *82 will cause these messages to fail. I am used to LG phones, you have the ability to edit the number while creating a message, before your send one of these messages. The problem I am having is when I send a Text Message / Picture Message it appears from the blackberry as only the 10 digit number (even though the contact has *82 in front of it)...and the message shows it is sent (with the check mark) but it NEVER received.
I did not adjust anything/ afraid someone else is messing with my phone. I have it locked with password protect...

That no longer works. I can however change the font sizes by pinching. What do I have to do to have the volume keys change the font sizes again? Or was that feature removed by one of the updates?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to enable the autocorrect' suggestions (word prediction) without actually doing the correction unless I choose to?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy autocorrect has taken on a mind of it's own, and will now change perfectly fine words to completely different ones. It will change "it" to "is" or "bad" to "sad" and many other unnecessary changes. Today was the final straw, it changed "there" to "their". when the sentence was, "He's been upset since he got there." So it's not as if it was being smart enough to replace the proper tense, it was just wrong! Will there been an improvement with autocorrect in the next update, because I've decided to turn it off until this madness stops.
