Apr 5, 2010Is there any way to change the text messaging screen to look like the blackberry messenger screen? I have the tour and I have seen this on the storm.

Jan 3, 2010I am on .230 and I have noticed that with only one of my contacts when I get a text message I get the alert but no notification on my screen. It sux cause if I don't hear it I never know I get a message from this person. What makes it worse is that I get messages from this person all the time so it's not a one in a while issue.

Aug 3, 2010I'm using a Tour on Verizon. The trackball broke and I got a new phone. On this phone, the SMS messages show up as a stream instead of messages. Verizon says they are "working" and wont do anything. This is completely unacceptable.If I want to delete a message- it deletes EVERY SINGLE message I have from that contact including the ones I want to save. I've had to restore SMS from my backup 3 times now- and just give up on deleting anything. They say I have to go and scroll through EVERY list to find specific messages to delete for every person.I also get automated SMS messages from various equipment I monitor at work, and these all show up as one big message with no date/time stamps- and I end up missing important messages because the most recent one is just a "status" message.
When looking at the solid stream of messages many (but not all) of my contacts have a GREAT BIG "Contact information: [Their phone number]" taking up 40% of the screen meaning I have to scroll up and down to read even short SMS messages.How can I get my SMS messages to show up as messages like they are supposed to instead of the "stream of **bleep**" that they show up as now?

How can I can I change the text message tone to a different one that I have downloaded, I have tested the tone on incoming call, but I would like it on text message because I have the tone I want on a call.

May 12, 2011I downloaded an ap-monitoring ap that sends an alarm when aps are operating over a selected percentage of CPU and "Contacts New Storage" is constantly alarming at sometimes over 70%. The main problem is when I am in the Text Messaging screen it completely freezes before I can open a conversation. Also, if I want to start a new text conversation the To: field won't let me copy from my contacts or even type in a number. the phone also freezes when I am trying to look up a number in the contacts to make a call and while I am on a call I can't hit end sometimes. There is also an over-all sluggishness to the phone but I think that is because of the low volume CPU. I am upgraded to 2.1. I have tried to reboot. And reset the phone completely. I wonder if there is a way I can turn off or delete motoblur and just use the android?

Jan 23, 2010I see a lot of publicity pics of the Tour with the bridge splash screen shown, thought I'd like it for a background pic...(My splash screen is the Verizon check from the "Verizon Zen" theme).I have a custom background pic for my Tour, several actually, but was wondering how to get the bridge pic from the "Precision Zen" theme so I could use it as a background pic..Also - Is it possible to "save" and restore a loaded ROM theme??? Like, if I had the AT&T or T-Mobile "Zen" theme, could I load it into my Verizon Tour??? And if I could find a like-minded soul who wanted to swap Tour themes (Verizon, Rogers, T-Mobile, AT&T, etc), how would I swap or add a branded theme?
Just to see the bug-eyed look on my VWZ store tech the next time I pull out my VWZ Tour and ask her a question.

Jan 14, 2010I am having problems with my messenger freezing up on my Tour. It started with the most recent update. It will work fine but then randomly it will not allow me to open current chats. (I can still scroll through names on my list, so the whole screen isn't frozed, I just can't click on anything.) The only thing I can do to "fix" it is a hard reset of my phone, but then its just a matter of time before it freezes again. Happens daily at least.

May 22, 2010I just updated my Blackberry Tour to the latest OS (v5.0.0.591). I have a huge problem with my sms messages showing up in my Blackberry Messenger. When I sms a contact that is also added to my Blackberry Messenger, the sms messages appear under "Chat." Ok thats fine...BUT when I go to end the chat on the sms conversation, it asks me to delete all messages in chat. SO if I choose yes, I also delete ALL sms messages that I've ever received from that contact. I also noticed that those same contacts that are added to my Blackberry Messenger, when they send me an sms message, it does not show up in the main message list...only the Blackberry Messenger.

The phone is on Verizon network am able to activate my Blackberry Internet Services, but these however, do not work. I am unable to use the Internet or use Blackberry messanager.Vodacom says that they do not support this phone therefore dont have the settings. Is anyone able to assit me or give me advice of how to activate and have a fully functional Internet and Blackberry messenger services?

Apr 11, 2010this "update" really blows chunks. Not everyone likes threaded messages... As much as I've tried, I can't start a new text message to someone without deleting/clearing an older message. If I receive a voice-mail from someone, I can't send them a text without deleting the voice-mail message from the list. There's no way to "un-link" contacts (the option in BBM DOES NOT WORK).

May 14, 2010I have a Blackberry Tour 9630 for Sprint and I plugged it into my iMac last night to charge via USB and it was perfectly fine the whole time.When i woke up in the morn (the comp also went to sleep all night long) the phone screen was blank (black) and the red LED light was solid with no blinking. I unplugged the phone and the screen stayed blank and the light stayed on. I pressed the power button on the phone and the screen showed the little clock with rotating hands (like it was processing something) and then it went blank again and the LED light came back on.It did this 3 times before i took the battery out.I left the battery out for about 25mins and when i put it back in nothing happened at all. I pressed the power button and still nothing. The only thing that happens is when i plug it back in the comp, the solid red LED light comes back on - but still nothing on the screen.Has anyone experienced this or have any ideas for me? Did i fry the battery by leaving it plugged into a dormant comp?

BB Tour 9630 :: Stuck Loading Screen
Aug 2, 2010Today i took ount my phones battery and placed it back in and the black black ground with "blackberry" cpomes out and it starts to load but the bar stops at about 70%.
i try taking out the battery couple of times and it still didnt work. Any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks youuuuu
BB Tour 9630 :: Stuck On Splash Screen
Apr 9, 2010Well I have the newest Tour firmware and everything was working fine until this morning when I did a battery pull. It goes through the boot up process but then it gets stuck at the splash screen. I removed my memory card to see if that was the issue but it wasn't. Do you think downgrading the firmware will fix this issue?

Apr 25, 2010Tour 9630 Telus, Out of the blue I am not able to open blackberry messages (they are received fine) and I cannot start a new conversation with a contact. When I click on the contacts name nothing happens, if I try to "open chat" nothing happens. The only way to send a message is to "Broadcast Message". I have no problems with email or SMS.

I have searched this forum and Google but have run out of patience. I see plenty of solutions to separate email messages from SMS/MMS, but this is not what I want to do. I know that I can go into View Folder and navigate to the MMS Inbox folder, which shows only MMS messages. So, how can I get a shortcut to this on the home screen?

Feb 14, 2010I have a MacBook and I haven't really done anything that could cause this problem. I removed the AP News program and on the next reboot, it comes up with the error screen that says Reload Software 552. I didn't back up anything because I didn't even foresee this coming. I'm reading that I have to completely reinstall the OS again, and I've also read that I can go into my Blackberry on my computer and remove the newly installed(and in this case, uninstalled) application. I'm not currently home so I can't try this but I'm wondering if anyone has other solutions. This is super weird because I had a dream I jumped into a pool with my phone last night and it broke.

Apr 5, 2010I bought a unlocked sprint phone to work on my network (rogers) works fine, but when i go dial it shows the older persons number. I know i can turn this off to not show it but i want to change it. It can't be changed through general options. Im guessing its stored in the device with the last owners SPRINT CDMA settings. On a verizon i can do ##000000 but it doesn't work on sprint. Wipe security didn't erase it , Will JL_CMDER delete that??
