Galaxy S6 :: Text Message Change Font Size With Volume Buttons
Oct 8, 2015
I have a Galaxy S6 with Android 5.1.1. When I first purchased my phone a couple of months ago, I could change my font sizes in the messaging app using the volume buttons. That no longer works. I can however change the font sizes by pinching. What do I have to do to have the volume keys change the font sizes again? Or was that feature removed by one of the updates?
I have an s6 edge and I can't figure out how to stop the messages app from changing font sizes when I use the volume buttons. I checked previous responses to this question but there is no option in the message's settings that allow me to un-check a box for this.
I have read a lot about people wanting to know how to change their font size on the phone, and I've subseuently read how people are getting advice to download apps for this etc.I wanted to let you know how I do it and hope that it helps......While you are in within a text message, or, about to compose one, tap the 2nd menu button along the bottom (the one with the 3 lines). You will see the options: All messages/Quick Text/Compose/Call/Attach/MoreTap on 'More' and there is another menu, where you then choose 'Text size'.
I have checked all the settings and find no way to change the font size on sent or received texts. Very aggravating to have to find my glasses everytime I receive a text!
Is there any way to change the size of a text message font to make it larger than the default size when reading?I know how to set email to the highest font size and also how to size it up when in the process of reading it, but I have not found a way to enlarge the font size of text messaging.
I just bought a Galaxy S5. Really liking the phone so far. Forums/message boards displaying different text sizes on the same page. Attaching a couple of screenshots of what I mean.
On the first one, as soon as I touched on the "in my humble opinion", it shrunk to that tiny size (without opening).
On the second one, the op's text is readable, but everything else is real small.
Hoping it's just a setting adjustment that needs to be made.
How to resize it and keep it that way? I use the pinch feature to make it smaller but when I exit the app and go back to it it reverts back to the default size. I went into the settings and there is a font size selection, but it never changes the size.
Is there a way to decrease home button sizes? I feel like they are unecessairly big. Also for some reason compared to note 5 and nexus 6p I feel like everything is a tad bit bigger. I have set the display size to smallest but the resolution on my v10 seems to be a little bit magnified.
I see that I can change the bubble color scheme...and that I can add a custom background photo...but can I change the font color to something other than black? If I do put a custom photo image up and it is dark I can't see the font/writing.
I need this rubbish disabled as i constantly change volume when on SMS screen. I can see how this would be useful for old people that cant read small text or are constantly fiddling with the text size, but its useless.
I noticed that on my s6, the volume buttons don't change the sound settings when the phone is locked but when i tried it on my sister's s6 it does. What the problem could be? I'm using nova launcher prime but i don't think that has to do with it.
I've had this problem for a while and now I'm getting work I don't want to miss my phone because I've put it on dead mode. Before I factory reset my phone, I was able to change my volume using the side buttons to go from different levels of sound, then vibrate only, then dead mode (complete silent and no vibrations). Now I only have different levels of sound and dead mode. I read about changing an option in sounds to vibrate only in silent mode, which will fix this but I can't find that either (my suspicians are that this option was taken out in ICS or moved to a secret location to foil my plans).
Using the native email application - it uses black/red fonts as default. Can I easily change the font colour? Can I change the font? Can I personalize the email application.

On my E7-00, I have two mailboxes - Yahoo and Mail for Exchange. Is it possible to change the font size in the Exchange client? The font size is huge (looks absurd on the big screen), and it is much larger than the display of the Yahoo mails. This means I have to keep taking my glasses on and off when switching between the two!I cannot find any settings to change the font.
I have an 8530 on the Sprint network and would like to know if it's possible to change the size of the fonts on the home screen? If so, can someone post the instructions?
Does anyone have an idea how to reduce the font size in the editor while ur typing a message in nokia X6.I can hardly see 5-6 words when i start typing.I tried changing the font settings to small but that does'nt change the font on editor. My dad has a nokia 5230 and the font in his phone while typing is small.Any help?
In his iPhone Settings, under Accessibility, my boss has his Large Text set at 32pt font. However, about half of his work emails come through in the large font, and half do not (they come through in 5pt font, it's really small). The email is an Microsoft Exchange email, and I've had my fair share of problems working on an iPhone with an Exchange account, but this seems odd as there doesn't seem to be a reason why some emails come through in 32pt font, and other's don't. I don't know if it has anything to do with the length of the chain of the email, like 40 email responses come through small whereas an email chain of 5 responses comes through in 32pt. AppleCare had no idea, and did some troubleshooting (e.g. rebooting and try to reset all preferences) which didn't work.
