On my old phone the, eternity i could hit the volume rocker on the side when i had a incoming call or text and the ringer would silence... How do i silence the ringer on the Atrix? I tried hitting the volume key and all it does is lower the volume instead of muting it all together...
View 5 RepliesI having phone go to silence mode by itself lately. I set "call out and ring " in system setting- acceessibility menu. I also set Vibrate and ring in System setting- sound menu. But sometime it Vibrate and Ring got unselected by itself.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI am running 2.1 and my phone ringer stopped working a few days. No changes to the phone, or new application, or physical damage. The symptom is incoming calls vibrate, but don't ring. If I check the ringtone by selecting a different tone, it plays Ok. Volume is fine also, set for independent control for incoming volume and phone ring. I have tried power cycling, removing the battery, checking my settings, and calling from different numbers (different ring tones).

Most phones allow you silence the ringer so the incoming call continues and you can still choose to answer it or leave it to go to through to the answer phone. Is that possible on this phone? Since I'm in the middle of a conversion I'd like to just reach into my pocket, hit one of the buttons and stop the ringtone/notification from playing. This doesn't seem to work out of the box. I'm a bit new to android phones (finally got fed up with iPhone) so I know there is probably an app or setting that will let me do this, but I can't find it.

Since I got my Atrix about two months ago, I have had several issues that I have seen posted and am still awaiting a fix. Like horrible call signal when iPhone has no problem, security lock timer, voice quality from my handset, but I have not read about this other one with the Incoming Call. This issue is very random for me, but when people call me, usually I get their image in the middle and what looks like the lock screen, with one bar on left and right that can be swiped to answer or hang up. This is the screen that I get maybe 75% of the time, but every so often I get another Incoming call screen that doesn't have the bars that swipe, but at the very bottom it has two large buttons, a green one to answer and a red one to ignore. I know not a big deal, you either swipe or press a button right? Well it also affects the ringtone, when I get the slider buttons, the ringtones work fine, but when I get the buttons, it uses the original default ringtone, not even the default ringtone I have setup on the phone. I don't have any other dialer or call log app installed, I just set up my ringtones in settings and choosing individual users. Anyways, I like the button screen dialer, better than the default swipe one, but is there a way I could set a default and not get different incoming call screens.

If you are in the middle of sending a text message and using the voice input and talking to the voice input when a call comes in, the voice input is abandoned, the "answer/ignore" screen shows for a second. But before you can answer, the keyboard comes back up and covers it up, so you can't answer the call. And then the keyboard is stuck on the screen. "back" doesn't make it go away (so you still can't answer the call). Even if you go to the home screen, the keyboard is still on the screen. Stock phone, not rooted, all updates applied, etc.

I've tried resetting the sound settings, changing the ringtone etc! (when selecting a different ringtone, the phone DOES NOT make any sound then either, whereas, before it would play the tunes as I went through the "ring tone" menu).
The other sounds, ie key pad, internet etc all play sound!
My iPhone 4 does not ring when I get an incoming call or text MSG. The in app sounds also do not work. They work only with the headset. Music plays and everything else is working fine. Tried restoring, blowing into the jock, pressing near the home button.

I removed the battery to restart my BB Torch several times every day, for about the last six weeks, in order for the ringer to function correctly on incoming calls. I have checked and re-checked the Profile settings, without finding anything wrong. It rings correctly for a while, then stops. Sometimes I can't unlock the phone (screen dead to touch), sometimes I can unlock but then still no screen, no call Answer button appears, but the phone is ringing.
Is it correct then, that one should never leave any app or browser open on the phone?
So today has started yet another problem. Now when I go to answer my calls or make a call, it is automatically on speakerphone. I turned my phone off and it helped for a few calls and now the problem has returned. I have heard of USB ports going bad or something of that sort (not really familiar with it). Hopefully this is not what happened, yet then again maybe I could get a refurb not riddled with problems.

This doesn't happen every time, it happens every day, and multiple times, however. Usually, when I reboot the phone, the problem is gone...momentarily.
It seems to happen with random messages. I use Universal Inbox and currently see message from text, Facebook, Twitter, Gmail and my AT&T mail.
If I use the stock Text Messaging app, I can open the list of messages and see whatever I can from the preview there, but when I click to open the thread, it will open a totally random message thread. Weird. I'm not that into text messaging, but it does annoy me when I need to use it and I can't open individual messages because the wrong ones are appearing.
I don't know if this is a device problem, a software/app problem, an AT&T messaging problem or what. I'm somewhat ignorant about smartphones and have only had this Atrix 2 for about three months.
Its actually random. Sometimes when a call comes, i am not able to pick it up. The touch simply wont work. Then i have to cut the call using the power button and call them back.
