Jul 9, 2010I received my upgrade on Monday - a shiney new Blackberry Bold 9700. After setting it all up and getting the phone how i liked it, I started to notice problems........
My Blackberry messenger either didn't work or sent & received messages hours after they were actually sent.The internet was painfully slow if it loaded at all.
If I tried to make calls it would rarely work either taking forever to connect or when it did try to connect, I would hear a triple beep repeatedly as though there was a problem.When people tried to call me, they would go straight to my voicemail even though I was not on a call and had full signal.
My network provider immediately agreed to replace the handset and get me a new one out the next day and today I received the new handset. I've come home, tried to make a few calls on the handset before setting it up and all I am getting is an SOS symbol where the signal symbol should be and I am not able to make calls or do anything else.
I tried to restore the backed up file from my last handset and although it restored my numbers & text messages as well as my background image & alarms, it has not restored my programmes that I had installed and it has not restored my email and facebook settings. Am I doing something wrong or do I have another faulty handset?

Jul 4, 2010I've just upgraded to OS 5 and according to the screen icons I have 2 unread email messages.This is not correct but I have an email account where I had messages on the device prior to update but now I can't delete them and I think the two problems are connected.The email seems to be working OK otherwise - just can't get rid of these old messages!

Nov 21, 2013The Hangout messages on my Nexus 5 are not constantly updating. I will be in a regular conversation then nothing for maybe 30 minutes. Then, messages from the past 30 minutes all pour in at once. I thought it was a Hangouts issue but I have noticed it at times with my GMail also. I am using Straight Talk on AT&T's towers.

Feb 19, 2011I am having a problem with my emails and messages. Possibly text messages as well, but not sure.Basically, all my emails and messages arrive at once, usually after a long delay. Anyone know how I sort this problem out?I need my emails for work, so it's not very good! On a separate issue, when I use blackberry messenger, often I can not read what I am typing. I just is blank, but i can carry on typing and when I send whatever I have typed appears. This is a problem pretty much since I have had the phone, so I do not think is related with the more important problem mentioned earlier.I have a Blackberry Curve 8520 and am with Vodafone.

Aug 9, 2010I have a little problem, if we can consider this a problem. When i receave a SMS from a friend X, my Blackberry lag (the screen doesn't change, for like 0.5 sec). But when I receave a SMS from let's say Y, it can take up to 5 to 10 seconds before the screen move or I can move with the track pad to see the message. It's annoying.
So here is what I think, Is this because.. :
- I have over 35 000 SMS in the DB ?
- I have like 100 SMS from X and 5000 from Y ?
- My phone is on the vibrator but for Y he has a music ?
- Is this OS 5 ? But he is faster then OS 4 and I updated a while ago ?

Feb 17, 2010My 8520 is set to receive emails from a pop email server. This email server is a Smartermail type that I access via a web browser so that I do not have to worry about syncing emails across computers. I have numerous filters on the Smartermail to ensure clients mail goes into named inboxes. None of those filtered mails are being sent to the blackberry. I only receive the unfiltered emails. This is clearly no good at all as I am missing pver 75% of my emails. I could of course set the Smartermail to forward ALL messages to the blackberry email address but this would create two problems - duplication of mails on the blackberry and replies from the blackberry inbox would carry the blacberry sender address and not my company one. The other alternative would be to remove all filters on smarter mail but this would create a big housekeeping headache with one enormous mailbox.

Apr 23, 2010I just bought my 8520 last week and this afternoon I was not able to make and receive calls using my new blackberry. I took out the battery and sim card and waited for about a minute before putting them back in. It seemed to be working this time, but I just wanted to know what has happened to my phone. I've had my Curve BB for over a month with little to no problems (it stopped 'pushing' to my custom email a couple weeks ago, but I researched and resent the service books, etc. and it worked fine after that). Now, however, it has dropped/removed my two custom email icons. Poof. Gone. One minute they were there, the next, gone. I've already checked to make sure they weren't hidden. They're not. I went into email setting again and it no longer even showed them as having been set up - one of them being my home email that is pushed to my BB and the second being my BB email itself.
