I think i have the same problem with a few BlackBerry Users out there. I can't view SMS even though there's clearly a notification stating that i've a new SMS. I need to go to View SMS inbox to view the message.
View 6 RepliesI'm new to blackberry. I purchased a Blackberry Curve 8520 yesterday and I am having some trouble with it.
Problem 1:
New messages wont show up, I have to go into general messages and select "View Folder" > "SMS Inbox"
I have it set to combined simply because I just want all my messages in the main message folder but whenever a new message comes in I have to go into the SMS inbox folder.
Problem 2:
I'm having the same trouble with my email, I keep getting the notification come up for a new email but it is no-where to be found.
Problem 3:
I've set my blackberry to the Vibrate profile, the only time it seems to vibrate is when I get a new facebook notification and thats it.
I am having many problems with my new blackberry curve 8530. I just purchased this last week and can't seen to be able to view my pictures that my brother sends me from across the country of my brand new nephew. I called Bell Mobility and talked to them for 40 mins and I got no where.

View 28 Replies View RelatedI could not seem to find the right postings to help me with this.I attached a simple small .jpg file and sent it to the new Sprint 8530 BB phone to use as a desktop background.The attachment is a 'Winmail.dat' file. I have downloaded the file to what I thought to me the picture folder but it does not show up.
1) Is there a setting that would automatically show the attached pics like on my old Tmobile Blackberry? (Like an 8320 series)
If I have to 'Download images' manually everytime, I am taking this thing (actually 3 of them) back to Sprint and going back to T-mobile.
I am unable to run Videos nor i am able to view my pictures taken from 8500 (both videos and pictures) when i transfer them to my pc. Plz suggest what needs to be done.

As it currently stands, when the backlight times out it won't turn back on until I phsyically Press a button. I'd like for it to light up when something is received. I looked in the backlight options but didn't see anything.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi just got the new bb curve 2, and i absoloutely love it, but for some reason, when i get a facehbook notification it does its regular vib/ring mix, but then every 10-20 seconds it vibrates again and it continues until i check the message, ive been woken up way too many times in the past 2 days because of this... does anyone know how to solve it?

When I get a voicemail, a simple, white icon (a single line with a small circle at each end) appears in the top left of my screen, where the email & text notification icons also appear. In the past, once I check my voicemails, the icon goes away. But this time it has not. I have checked my voicemail several times and even erased all of my saved voice mails, but the icon will not go away! How can I get rid of it?

I downloaded the OS package for that carrier from URL...and installed it on my pc.It then asked me if i wanted to run the desktop manager and i chose to do so.i plugged my bb in and clickd on the application loader -> update software but there was no option for the v.5.0 software.
i buy new 8520, how to verify my 8520 device ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having problems today with my 8520 Curve. I keep receiving a message from donotreply@blackberry.com informing me that my emails are not being delivered to my device. It goes on to tell me to turn on the IMAP setting for all mail on my email account and validate my account. Having checked, my IMAP settings are correct so I re-validated my Bkackberry and, for all intents & purposes the email account is now valid. However, I then shortly receive another message exactly the same from donotreply@blackberry.com. I have gone round this cycle 3-4 times now but am still not receiving emails.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've being trying to update my device software but it's impossible, not even downloading the archive from the web.
Everytime I plug in my phone and open the blackberry manager to do whaterver it gives me the message that I haven't installed the Blackberry Device Manager . I updated my desktop manager to version 5.0, and I tried to update my device software and it says that I don't have any updates, after that I have deleted the files device.xml and vendor.xml but again when I plugged in my phone it comes the message that the Blackberry Device Manager is not installed. I've uninstalled the desktop manager and it let me use once but again no update for my phone software and then again the same message that i haven't installed the Blackberry Device Manager
My carrier company here in Ecuador wont help me cause I bought the phone in the USA, but anyways I have friends that have the same problem as and they have bought in Ecuador to Movistar (my carrier) the same phone and the update to 5.0 doesn't work.
The Case:
The customer tried to sync his blackberry with blackberry desktop and few hours later start an amazing number of new emails into one of his POP3 mail accounts.the emails follow this problem http://www.blackberry.com/select/es/support/kb/internet/KB04254_-1.shtml so yes, the customer did install the desktop with BES option and he have BIS. carrier: Movistar - Uruguay Blackberry 8520 @ 4.6 few screens to be clear and help to explain as the previous link says i had:
- Uninstalled the Blackberry Desktop software from pc.
- Deleted all Service Books
- Whipe the phone (also third party apps)
- Deleted the BIS Account
- i did checked if it has the right configuration at admin provisioning site (was right,it had BIS)
- Made a new BIS account
- Added the two customer Email accounts
- Restored the backup of phonebook, calendar, tasks, sms, email. (NO service books restored)
but two hours later, the customer once again get the unstoppable mail, the mails came to his mail box, not just the divice, and is just with one of his accounts. did i do something wrong? what more can i do? any suggestions?
I've today invested in this device, and I'm having trouble getting the browser to work, I did have a gander round the forums and the blackberry support section about this problem.
I've created the Wi-Fi Connection its come up as "Wlan_089A8C"
I still can't connect to the browser.
I see the browser is "HotSpot Browser" But in the general properties how do I change the Default Browser To another browser for this to work?
I have had my curve 8520 for about three weeks and whenever i get a picture message i try to retrieve it and i dont get it. it says receiving message for a while but then it just goes away, other times it will wont receive the message for a long time then after a few hours i get it. why does it do this? why cant i get the picture message right away?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a blackberry curve the 8500 series. And I use it for just about everything. The only problem I have is that I cant view my bank account on the browser. I am can get to the loggin screen and after I put my info in and press ok it goes to a white screen and says at the top "dual authentication".
The phone is not frozen it just wont load up my bank account. I know my bank account works on mobile devices because before I got my bb I had a phone that it worked on and my boyfriends phone lets me do it too. I know a bb can do just about everything so I am guessing there is a setting I have to change.
I hv got blackberry 8520 phone...i hv an issue with deleting the sms from the inbox..whenever i delete the sms...al d messages under tht thread gets deleted but it does not disappear from the inbox..n wen i try to open this "deleted" msg...it doesnt open neither it gets deleted although the msg content gets deleted...
also on few occassion der r multiple instances of the same msg thread...for eg..if i receive msg frm Mr. X

I have got a 8520 BlackBerry, completely new to these things! I have a little envolope with a number at the top of my screen, when i click on the star envolopes in the menu, there are no emails showing. I have set it up as I was told, but still can not recieve my emails. When I first used the Blackberry, I could recieve emails, I use hotmail and it says I have messages but I can't find them, or get to them.
