BB Curve 8500 :: Cannot View Bank Account On Browser - Goes To A White Screen And Says At Top "dual Authentication"
Sep 9, 2010
I have a blackberry curve the 8500 series. And I use it for just about everything. The only problem I have is that I cant view my bank account on the browser. I am can get to the loggin screen and after I put my info in and press ok it goes to a white screen and says at the top "dual authentication".
The phone is not frozen it just wont load up my bank account. I know my bank account works on mobile devices because before I got my bb I had a phone that it worked on and my boyfriends phone lets me do it too. I know a bb can do just about everything so I am guessing there is a setting I have to change.
I have a Blackberry Curve 8520. Yesterday it got stuck on a white screen, with a small black clock in the middle (the kind that you see when you're waiting for a page to load on the internet browser).Even if I turn my phone off, take the battery out, or put it on charge, this "white screen of death" as I've read it being described by other people online, won't go away!!
For some reason I no longer have the status bar at the top of my browser screen. It used to be that I could see how I was connected with either the wifi symbol or the gprs symbol and I could also see the connection symbol (white square with 2 green squares). Im guessing that it could be a browser setting that needs changing but I cant find it.
I can log in here on my desktop and can visit the same page using my BlackBerry 9300 browser but I cannot login. The screen goes white and stays that way. (I have of course latest OS and have tried battery reset)
I am having many problems with my new blackberry curve 8530. I just purchased this last week and can't seen to be able to view my pictures that my brother sends me from across the country of my brand new nephew. I called Bell Mobility and talked to them for 40 mins and I got no where.
I am completely new and just recieved my Blackbery Curve 8520 today. My previous LG Neon had the threaded view and I have read that the newest updates of the blackberry's do too. But when I update it, it does not show my SMS in a threaded view.
My Blackberry 8520 curve suddenly hangs giving a white screen and when i restart it - the screen remains white. After i put it into charge - then only a successful start is done. So the only solution as of now i have - is whenever my blackberry hangs - i need to remove the battery - insert it again - and immediately put it into charging via USB/Electric-Power. Even if i re-insert the battery - the white screen comes - unless and until i put it into charging Earlier i was guessing - my battery was weak.
I could not seem to find the right postings to help me with this.I attached a simple small .jpg file and sent it to the new Sprint 8530 BB phone to use as a desktop background. The attachment is a 'Winmail.dat' file. I have downloaded the file to what I thought to me the picture folder but it does not show up.
1) Is there a setting that would automatically show the attached pics like on my old Tmobile Blackberry? (Like an 8320 series)
If I have to 'Download images' manually everytime, I am taking this thing (actually 3 of them) back to Sprint and going back to T-mobile.
I think i have the same problem with a few BlackBerry Users out there. I can't view SMS even though there's clearly a notification stating that i've a new SMS. I need to go to View SMS inbox to view the message.
I am unable to run Videos nor i am able to view my pictures taken from 8500 (both videos and pictures) when i transfer them to my pc. Plz suggest what needs to be done.
When I open up most apps that have pictures, words I find a white band across the screen that does not let me view the whole document/page. This makes reading the news on CBC, or my son's blog impossible!
I recently bought an unlocked curve 8520 from Smartone Vodafone in HK and am now in China using china mobile service. I have not signed up for the blackberry email service -- my plan was to download the dedicated gmail app.
On my old Sony Ericsson W888 I was able to download the dedicated gmail java app and was using it on china mobile. I have tried to download the gmail application to the curve via both the pre-loaded browser and the hotspot wifi browser but am not allowed to -- there is an error message saying I can't access gmail and have to access gmail via the Internet. I can get to gmail using the browser, but my goal is to download the dedicated application which has a better user experience.
After these steps, I downloaded the Opera browser, thinking perhaps if I use a different browser, I could directly access the internet and download the gmail application. I downloaded the Opera mini v5 beta onto my Macbook and loaded it onto the curve via the BDM software but it does not run after loading the application. I then downloaded Opera v4.2 from its website I accessed via the Hotspot wifi browser on the curve directly. This would not run either.
Separately, I tried to access the mobile.blackberry.com homepage to download new themes but I received a page that said: "Unfortunately, your current device and/or browser are not compatible for this site." I was hoping to download some new themes to replace the vodafone pre-loaded theme.
At this point, it seems my blackberry is bascially locked down and not open to new applications -- I have not been able to successfully download / access the gmail app (which has worked here in China on another sony ericsson phone through the same carrier), the 2 opera browser versions, or the main mobile.blackberry.com site.
Questions for the forum:
1. is this a carrier issue where China Mobile is walling off access? any work-arounds? I have tried to access the internet via just a hotspot wifi browser through a regular wifi connection, but still no success.
2. why can't the curve even access blackberry's own mobile.blackberry.com home page? it's surprising that the site won't even recognize one of the company's own devices.
3. is there any way to download the gmail java app via the PC and then load it onto the curve via BDM? after searching online, I cannot file a standalone gmail app which I can download and transfer via the USB cable. does it exist and if so, please let me know where to download it.
Over the past two days I have not been able to access my brower (8520 curve), can someone please explain why? I can enter a www address but it just reads "loading", the little black box in the top right corner flashes then stops, disappears and nothing else happens. I end up closing it the browser down.
3 days ago i was using my phone like normal when i got a white sceen, ive tried pulling the battery but it just goes straight back to the white screen. Does anybody have any idea on how to fix this? Bear in mind i cant connect to Blackberry Software Desktop because for some reason it wont recognise my device, i want to state the phone hasnt been dropped and hasnt been near any water, it just randonly went white.
I have had the curve for a few weeks now. At first i changed the settings of the browser to "hotspot" so i could use it with wifi. It was working really well, then all of a sudden it stopped durin browsing. The phone says the wifi connection is fine, but whenever i go to the broswer and try to go to a website it just says loading at the bottom and nothing happens.
Can anyone help with this? should i restart the phone setting somehow because i might have done changed some setting during browsing without realising or is this an actual issue with the phone?
I access my emails from work thru a VPN. I purchased a Curve 8520 cause I understood I could receive my emails on my smartphone. I set up my personal emails, which are working fine. But, I can't figure out how to set up my VPN settings for an email account on the 8520. Co-workers who have other smartphones(not Berries) and connect.
I have just bought a curve 8500 and do not have the option to set up a personal email account - it says to contact my service provider but BT has not been facilitating at all - I have been at this for almost 2 hours and am ready to take the blackberry back to the shop and get something else.
I just purchased a brand new Nokia 5800 from Amazon yesterday. The phone works great, but I'm not so sure about the screen. It looks fine, but when I have a white background such as when using the web browser it looks kind of smudged. It's not an issue of the phone actually being smudged, because I've cleaned it several times. The screen just looks kind of fuzzy and it's just not as clear as I had hoped. Is this just as good as it gets for screen quality on the 5800, or is it my phone?
My browser stopped working - every time i try to go to a website, the browser screen remains white and says "loading" on the bar at the bottom, although the bar does not fill up. All of my other internet programs are working, email, apps, etc.
I've had just about every Galaxy flagship phone in the Samsung series and am certainly not a stranger on setting up accounts.I have 2 hotmail.com email accounts, a business and personal. I tried setting up my personal entering details correctly and I get "authentication failed" ... I jump on a PC and CONFIRM the password I used was indeed correct. I tried setting up the account manually (POP3) which wasn't a problem, however the device has absolutely no interest trying to connect to my account and sync. It keeps telling me the OP3 server is not responding.
I have tried changing my password on the PC to something else. I then re-attempted the email set-up and received the same error...authentication failed. Now, google, gmail, yahoo, aol accounts (etc) ALL work fine. I decided to try the OTHER hotmail account...enter the details and BOOM. It worked. The device is running stock ROM and is rooted (problem also existed before root)
I had to add a new e-mail account to my BB Curve 8530 as the provider I was using was bought out by another company.I had no problems with the setup, but I'm wondering how I can delete the old e-mail account that I don't need any more.
I cannot create an personal email account on my Blackberry Curve 8520.I've already followed some of the instructions from this forum and on the main website of Blackberry but still can't create an email account for my phone. These are the steps I'm doing when I'm trying to create and email. From the home screen, go to Setup. Click Setup Wizard.Click Email Setup. But when I'm in the email setup, the only option I have is the "I want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server.I don't have the option of "I want to create or add an email address. Now, how can I create a personal email account on my phone?
