Jul 21, 2010I had to add a new e-mail account to my BB Curve 8530 as the provider I was using was bought out by another company.I had no problems with the setup, but I'm wondering how I can delete the old e-mail account that I don't need any more.

I have tried some of the answers to other questions on here and they have not worked. I have already deleted the service book, restarted the phone and still no luck.

May 21, 2010I've read through the forums as best I could, deleted anything that had "vvm" in the /java folder, tried changing the "required" fields from true to false in the .alx file, and yet the visual voice mail is still there on my phone. Here's a screenie of my BBSAK "read system," showing that there is nothing with VVM on my phone, yet visual voice mail is still there, despite several restarts and different fixes. I'm running a T-Mobile Curve 8520 with .592.

Pretty much sorted out my e-mail problems although despite deleting e-mail accounts, I can't find a way to clear the old messages from the main messsage box apart from individually, which might take a year!I now want to delete my downloads and can't find a way to do that either.For context, I have to return a phone and want to clear it appropriately, either by removing items like downloads and messages that are personal, or by returning to factory settings.

Jan 17, 2010I purchased the Blackberry Storm 9530 four days ago. Since the purchase was made, one email tag remains in the upper left portion of the screen, and I cannot determine what the source of it is, and therefore, cannot delete it. I have checked every email, every voicemail, every Blackberry Messenger message, every text message (all coming in or going out), and everything in the phone in and out box coming in or going out. I cannot find the source of the tag anywhere. I even took the battery out and put it back in, but I cannot determine why the tag is there. Does anyone have any idea why it is doing this, and if so, how do I get rid of it? Thanks.

Jul 29, 2010My curve 8520 came with the plug in and when I try to download gmail app, it just incorporates into the e-mail folder. What I would prefer is what I had on my old phone, the G-mail "envelope" icon so that when I read my gmail (where all my e-mail goes) inbox I have all the features (star, label, etc.).
To accomplish this, should I remove the plug in via DM and then download the G-mail app from the web?

Feb 23, 2010Just got new 8520 to replace 8320. Windows will only recognise it as a Rim Composite Device and cannot find software.
I have an existing 8320 which connects and works perfectly OK on the same laptop.
This is what I have tried so far
1. Unstalled existing Desktop software and reinstalled both with downloaded version and cd provided version
2. Installed USB/modem drivers from Blackberry downloads and tried a manual add
3. Ditto with Microsoft generic rim drivers
This has taken about 8 hours of changes so far all to no avail. The 8320 is fine tho'

Jun 18, 2010I got BB Curve 8520 and try to use the internet browser after enabling the wifi. It always fails with error "Failed to obtain an IP address". I have changed wireless security on my Linksys Router from from 'WPA-2' to 'WPA', Still the problem remains. My Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and iPhone are just working fine. I tried the above with & without simcard inserted. I have a Wi-Fi connection at home & office and want to browse using this and do not want to use BlackBerry Internet Service of my GSM operator.

I'm trying to set up email but atm its only giving me the option for setting up work email account with a BB enterprise server - I just want to set up a normal email account using my normal hotmail account but i cant get any further along as it asks for my enterprise activation password - which i obviously dont have?
Also - a few friend have gien me their pin so i can add them on BBM, i type the pin and it says contact pending but the person/s im trying to add get no notification that i'm trying to add them - we try it the other way with me giving them my pin and get the same result WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

Jan 20, 2010I have a Cellular South 8330 that I activated on 12/10/09. Everything was great until it started deleting e-mail by itself on the handset. I went back in to the store where it was purchased and was told that I needed a memory card so I bought one. Same problem occurs. I went back to the store and was told that I had to save everything to the card. The salesperson changed a setting on my phone and told me I would not have that problem again. Same problem occurs. I was then told by a former Cellular South employee that I needed to clear the event log. Same problem occurs. I have even posted this issue on blog section of the Cellular South website. No response. I had the Curve with AT&T for two years and never had that problem.

I am not given an option to view my current email accounts to choose one to delete. May 6, 2010I have a blackberry 8530smokey violet, my carrier is Verizon. I'm having trouble receiving and sending any type of message(bbm/email/text) while on a phone call. When I hang up ALL my message come pouring in (I guess I should be happy they come in at all). Initially all the messages came in silently so I adjusted it so that I would be notified when a message comes in. I've since removed it but I still have the problem. Any advice?
Also while at work I changed the ringing to silent but all my messages cause my phone to make noise, I assumed when I made the phone silent I assumed all messages/phone calls would be silenced. Was I incorrect?
