My Blackberry Curve gives me the option of deleting messages from both Handheld and Mailbox and Handheld. I assume Mailbox means my desktop computer at home which is a Mac, but when I select Mailbox and Handheld for delete, it only deletes from Handheld and NOT from Mailbox. How can I program my 'berry to delete remotely from my desktop?
View 12 RepliesI have a new 8530 and even though I select "Delete on mailbox and Handheld" every time I delete an email, it only will delete it on the Blackberry. Reverse is also true, when I delete email on my laptop the emails do not delete on Blackberry (not sure if this is even an option).This happens on both my gmail account and my comcast account.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an email account on my Blackberry. It is also hooked up via Entourage on my Mac (same thing as Outlook). When I check an email on my Blackberry, it is marked as read, obviously. But when I click on that email again in Entourage is re-sends the email to my device. This has always happened, I've gotten over it. But now I am realizing that when I delete that duplicate email off the device by using "Delete off handheld", it deletes BOTH of the emails on the device! Have any of you seen this?

View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen you want to delete an email, you usually get the 'Delete From Handheld & Mailbox', 'Delete From Handheld', or Cancel. All I get now is Delete or Cancel. My email reconciliation is set to delete on prompt, wireless reconcile is on, and on conflicts is set to mailbox wins. However, I am not being prompted. What is confusing is that on some emails it asks and on others it is not asking. I tried battery pulls, deleting and readding the email address. I only have a personal email and not business.

On my old phone I had it set up to ask whether I wanted to delete email messages on just the handheld device or both. I like having the option. On this replacement device I can't find this optional setting. I'm even having a hard time accessing the various email options.

Since the purchase was made, one email tag remains in the upper left portion of the screen, and I cannot determine what the source of it is, and therefore, cannot delete it. I have checked every email, every voicemail, every Blackberry Messenger message, every text message (all coming in or going out), and everything in the phone in and out box coming in or going out. I cannot find the source of the tag anywhere. I even took the battery out and put it back in, but I cannot determine why the tag is there. Does anyone have any idea why it is doing this, and if so, how do I get rid of it? Thanks.

It's just started deleting past entries (anything over 24 hours) even though my settings are to "keep forever". I have contacted my service provider and they said it's because I've run out of memory and calender entries and text messages are low priority. Is there anyway to ensure they don't get deleted? Is there anything I can do (other then set the texts to keep for only 15 days - already done) to ensure I always have enough memory? Is there anyway to recover my deleted entries? I don't have it synched to my computer or outlook.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry 8330 curve that was purchased in October 2008.I loaded the Desktop Manager software from the disk that came with the phone. For a long while I was able to synche my calendar on the phone along with tasks, addresses,etc to outlook. Occasionally after finishing an error box would come up the Blackberry had detected an error and did I want to report it. I closed out the box since I was done working. About a week ago I was no longer able to synch and this error box would come up immediately. I have tried removing the software and downloading the version 5.0 software, hard re-setting the phone (which almost worked). I have updated to Internet Explorer 8 but this problem occured earlier as well.Last night I was able to back-up the device and set synchronization settings after the hard reset of the phone but now I cannot do anything. Desktop Manager opens fine, connects to my blackberry fine but as soon as I hit "Synch" it pops up the error message and whether I hit debug, don't send a report or send a report it closes me out completely.

Pretty much sorted out my e-mail problems although despite deleting e-mail accounts, I can't find a way to clear the old messages from the main messsage box apart from individually, which might take a year!I now want to delete my downloads and can't find a way to do that either.For context, I have to return a phone and want to clear it appropriately, either by removing items like downloads and messages that are personal, or by returning to factory settings.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMaybe this is in the VZW Tour 5.0 software thread or something, but after completing the software upgrade, when I receive emails through my Gmail account and decide to delete an email, I am no longer getting the option to delete from the mailbox, the device, or both, although the option is set uo from this particular email account. I'm not having any problems with the Yahoo email account. I've removed the email and readded it on the phone as well as on the Blackberry Internet Server website.

I have uninstalled desktop manager and reinstalled it, I have also rebooted the computer still nothing. I plug my husbands pearl in and it connects just fine.

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen setting up the desktop software to sync with BB, a stage is reached asking for a source to be selected (Yahoo / Outlook / none / etc). As I am working with Outlook only, if I could I would select this for each, but it only appears as an option for 'Contacts'. For some reason Outlook is not offered as an option for either calendar or tasks. What is more odd is that I have successfully used the same BB and PC in the past with the Desktop software, but for some reason it just stopped working. I have tried removing and reinstalling both v5 and v6 without success. I suspect the problem might be the phone rather than the software - but heh, what do I know!

It is now almost 3:00pm.It is still showing 346 of the 528 modules in the Download device Software part of the process. At this point it's a fail... But it says Do not disconnect your device... or else. What now? Very disappointing.
View 10 Replies View RelatedEver since I updated my desktop software to 6.0, when I back up my device, it changes my time zone to Eniwetok (I am in Eastern Time Zone).My computer is set on Eastern Time Zone, and the time zone does not change in Outlook when I sync, just on my device.I even have Auto Update Time Zone on my device turned off, but it still changes my time zone. Why is it doing this, and how can I stop it?

However, after I select Application Loader, I get the dialog message "Search for available device software" and then it just hangs. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and does not work. View 4 Replies View RelatedI successfully upgraded to DM6 recently. Frankly I use DM only to sync contacts, because I need to sync three Outlook contact folders, and the wireless sync will sync no more than one contact folder.
After the first sync, for some of my contacts, their photo had disappeared - but only in Outlook, they're still there in the handheld's address book.I've tried to deduct why some photos get deleted and most not, but can't see any logic. Apparently the handheld reports (falsely) that there is no picture for that contact, causing Outlook to delete it. I am afraid that the next sync will make those photos disappear from the handheld, too.
I've searched on a number of forums but didn't find anything on this bug. I hope someone can help me out to fix this. Of course I do have backups of the contact folders, but I need to make sure that after laboriously repairing the affected contacts, the photos will not disappear again at sync.Dell Precision 380 running Win7 with Outlook 2k7 connected to Exchange 2k7 and a BES. The handheld is a Bold 9700 with firmware v5.0.0.545. The DM syncs over USB.
When I do a backup with Desktop, it truncates all calendar items older than 60 days even though I have selected the "keep them forever" option. I need at least one year because all the anniversaries and birthdays I enter will disappear every 60 days.

Now when I try to sync, I get a message that over 600 of my past calendar items will be deleted if I continue with sync. I need to keep previous calendar items, is there a way to solve this problem and not delete past events? I am sorry for asking this question, I am just new and very unsure of what I am doing. I had used missing sync before, but when my blackberry had to be replaced, new blackberry wouldn't work so I wanted to try desktop manager.
