I recently received a replacement Blackberry Bold device. On my old phone I had it set up to ask whether I wanted to delete email messages on just the handheld device or both. I like having the option. On this replacement device I can't find this optional setting. I'm even having a hard time accessing the various email options.

I have a new 8530 and even though I select "Delete on mailbox and Handheld" every time I delete an email, it only will delete it on the Blackberry. Reverse is also true, when I delete email on my laptop the emails do not delete on Blackberry (not sure if this is even an option).This happens on both my gmail account and my comcast account.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an email account on my Blackberry. It is also hooked up via Entourage on my Mac (same thing as Outlook). When I check an email on my Blackberry, it is marked as read, obviously. But when I click on that email again in Entourage is re-sends the email to my device. This has always happened, I've gotten over it. But now I am realizing that when I delete that duplicate email off the device by using "Delete off handheld", it deletes BOTH of the emails on the device! Have any of you seen this?

I assume Mailbox means my desktop computer at home which is a Mac, but when I select Mailbox and Handheld for delete, it only deletes from Handheld and NOT from Mailbox. View 12 Replies View RelatedOn my 9000, and I thought on my Torch as well - until today - there was a subpage in mail options called message services which permitted you to select which email account settings to modify (for example BES or BIS). Then once I selected my BES account there was an option to "send email to handheld" or not. Something I turned off every evening and back on in the morning (don't want work emails bugging me all night).BUT, now I can't find where that option is on my Torch. Very strange. I've searched everywhere, I think. Any help would be great. At minimum, will someone who has multiple email accounts (BES) check their Torch to see if the setting I refer to is there? When I used BB Desktop Manager restore to bring my data onto the 9700, it brought my old email address along with it. The new carrier has no clue on how to erase it. I have to be careful now to make sure I am choosing new carrier when sending out emails otherwise they won't send. How do I delete the old carrier email address? From the handset or from Desktop Manager?

View 1 Replies View RelatedBeen searching here and cannot find the answer...I apologize if I missed something, but been going back and forth through the forums and online...Updated the Facebook app to latest version (1.8....) when I updated other apps/OS on my phone (8900, OS 4.6.1). Prior to that I think I had downgraded to 1.5 (or 1.6) to be able to upload photos consistently (didn't work with any "newer" version, so went backwards). With that version running...lacked features, but ran fine and photos were uploaded every time (FB started compressing them again, which is why I opted to try the update to 1.8)...my notifications were working properly gmail account on BB (only email associated with handheld) has FB emails set to skip inbox, mark as read etc. when you view on the web. Notifications came through FB app on BB (red star and alert) just fine, AND were "hidden" in BB messages folder. You could navigate to them, but didn't clutter the inbox.
I am VERY confused about the settings on this 1.8 version. Right now I get notifications on the app (red star, can read through app), BUT they also stay in my gmail inbox on the handheld which obviously takes up a LOT of space and don't want to have to constantly delete them. I do NOT get notified of a new email or anything, but want these hidden as they were in previous version.I WANT the emails to go to my gmail account they way they had been, I just do not want them to show up on my BB in the gmail inbox. Tried settings in options menu and doing via FB on the web, but can't find the right combination. Only see people with opposite problem of NOT getting notifications through FB app on BB, and I don't want to mess anything up.Can someone please help and explain what may fix this to go back to hiding the EMAIL version of the notification JUST on the handheld without disabling notifications through the app or with my web email?
I use a Curve 8310 as my work BB (through an enterprise server) and recently acquired a Bold 9700 for my personal email accounts. I used the "Switch Device" option on my BB Desktop Manager, to trasfer contacts from my work BB to the 9700. All this was a breeze. Unfortunately what this also did was transfer my work email folders (all archive folders) on to the 9700. So in the email application on the 9700, if I select "View Folder" from the menu key, I see a whole bunch of archive folders. I have no use for these folders on the 9700 but cannot find a way to delete them.Is there a way that I can delete all these redundant email archive folders from the 9700?

I recently received a hand-me-down Bold 9000 from a colleague and I've just connected it with Vodafone.However that's when I discovered one huge problem - it doesn't have an option to set up anything but Enterprise email, and I just have regular pop and internet mail accounts. The wizard only comes up with the "BlackBerry Enterprise Server" option.I've tried registering with the Host Routing Table but that doesn't help matters.I've also installed the Desktop software and tried updating its software to no effect. Anyone have another idea of what I can do to get email on my email-centric smartphone? It's killing me!

When i first went through the setup wizard i had the two options one for the enterprise and the other for personal use. I did not fill in my details so i left it at that moment to check out the other features on the phone. But the second time i came round to it, it only gave me the enterprise option which i dont want. Not sure where to post this, but my wife and I both have the 9700. Yesterday hers quit working. The phone works and sms works.Anyways my issue is this, I am using it for personal use, but cannot send/receive pin messages, my bbm doesn't send/receive invites, and it won't let me setup a personal email.When I click on setup/email the only option available is to add an enterprise email and asks for the enterprise password.Any ideas as to why this is happening or ways around this so I can use my bbm and setup my personal emails to automatically send to my phone like I had before? Mine still works perfect. Any ideas on what needs to be done to get her email set back up and bbm working again ?
