BB Bold 9000 :: Want To Setup Personal Email But Option Only Available For Work Email
Jul 14, 2010I need some help setting up my Blackberry Bold 9000. I bought it off of Ebay and I have already wiped with memory. I need help setting up my email account and all of that stuff. When i try to set up a personal email address the only option I get is for setting up a Work email. This is what it says "I want to use a work email account with a BLackberry Enterprise Server"

Jun 8, 2010i just purchased a bold 9700 and i was trying to configure my personal email accounts. however, under settings -> setup wizard-> email setup, i only have the option to use "i want to use a work email account with a blackberry enterprise server", and nothing else. i viewed setting up personal email Internet video and from the user menu, there seems to be a possibility to select "personal email" setup where gmail and hotmail can be configured.

Jan 15, 2010I bought an unlocked Blackberry Bold 9700 (original carrier is rogers) through Ebay to use it with my pay as you go Fido plan. My main reason to buy this phone was to be able to browse the internet and check my email in wireless hotspots ( I am a student so wireless internet is openly available at the university). However, under email setup the only option available to me is the Blackberry Enterprise server, I apparently should have a 'personal email setup' but it is not available. I did a lot of research on the internet and this forum but could not find a solution to my problem. I would be very grateful if someone can provide me with some answers. I also contacted the person whom I bought the phone from and apparently he does not have the answers either. Tried calling Fido and they did not offer any support as the phone one was not bought from them.

Feb 27, 2010I'm trying to set up my personal email on the 9700, but it seems that i have only one option, Blackberry Enterprise Server option. Is that suppose to be that way? I don't seem to have the " I want to create or add an email address" option.

Aug 1, 2010just recently bought a blackberry bold 9700 with a data plan on t-mobile -UK. When i first went through the setup wizard i had the two options one for the enterprise and the other for personal use. I did not fill in my details so i left it at that moment to check out the other features on the phone. But the second time i came round to it, it only gave me the enterprise option which i dont want. Just wondering how i can get that option back. Also i cannot seem to be able to get blackberry apps or windows live messenger, although my blackberry messenger is working fine. please can someone help me with this?

Mar 9, 2010Not sure where to post this, but my wife and I both have the 9700. Yesterday hers quit working. The phone works and sms works.Anyways my issue is this, I am using it for personal use, but cannot send/receive pin messages, my bbm doesn't send/receive invites, and it won't let me setup a personal email.When I click on setup/email the only option available is to add an enterprise email and asks for the enterprise password.Any ideas as to why this is happening or ways around this so I can use my bbm and setup my personal emails to automatically send to my phone like I had before? Mine still works perfect. Any ideas on what needs to be done to get her email set back up and bbm working again ?

Dec 19, 2011I want to setup email connection. On this 9360 I do not have any Connection Assistant so I use "setup" mode and "mail accounts" options. Usually (as on my previous Curve 8520) I used to have two options when entering there :
- Use my own email address (personal address) or create a new one
- Use my Enterprise email address
But when I launch Email setup on my curve 9360, I have only the Enterprise option so that I Cannot setup email! My 9360 runs under OS 7.

May 14, 2011I bought my first BlackBerry (Curve 3G 9300) on Friday and tried to setup a personal email account on the phone via the setup wizard earlier today.The phone said that an update to 6.11...... was needed in order to do this. I let it update, now the phone is just hanging after starting up. If I do a start up after removing the battery it comes up with a black screen with the BlackBerry logo and a progress bar below it. The progress bar moves along until the end, this takes around a minute. It then shows something like a little clock over the logo for about a second. Once this disappears the phone says with the logo and the completed progress bar - and just hangs there.

I have recently done a device switch to my new BB and two email accounts were part of the switch transfer.
One works fine, however my gmail acount has not been receiving messages. When I go into setup email I constantly get 'Cannot connect to server' and then it exits back to the setup menu. This means I cannot edit any email profile I have. Removing the battery and restarting has no effect.
Any way to delete the offending email account and re-add or getting it working.

Jun 24, 2010I just recently switched from a Bold 9000 (ATT, OS 5) to a Bold 9700 (ATT OS 5).On the Bold 9000, I had 2 separate icons for my email. One was "Desktop" (the email from the BES) and one was "Personal" (my gmail account). There was also an option in the email settings to determine which emails showed up in the "Messages" view as well and you could have personal, work or both show up there.Now I can't seem to find this option in the 9700.

Jun 20, 2010Im in South Africa, got a 9700 from Nashuamobile, using the MTN network.My contract is only beginning from 01 July.I want to setup my current email adress on the phone like it is currrently on my N95.However it seems it will not be possible without the Blackberry service been activated?
So if this is the case, then my question is that the will it be impossible to have my email working on it without the BIS or BES service? How can this be possible? I thought I have the option of taking the BIS service or not?I suppose its the same in all countries , nevermind the ISp or Carrier?

Mar 16, 2010Last week I bought a Bold 9700. I put in my SIM card and set up our 4 email accounts. All working fine. My husband has just gone aborad on business so has put his SIM card in it and is having problem downloading emails. I have bought another Bold 9700 for me so that we have one each now. Can I set up the device for the same 4 email accounts, so that we both have access to the accounts from our own device.
Also does he need to go through blackberry registration with his sim card so that he can access emails. As the device he is now using was originally set up with my sim inserted. He is abroad at the moment and is frantic that he may not be able to access his emails!! He is a bit of a technophobe, but from using the Bold 9700 with my sim card in he had no problem and found it very easy. Where have we gone wrong....

Nov 4, 2011Recently I had to change my gmail password and now I am not able to receive email on my device. I am using the bold 9700 and upgraded to OS 6. When I go into setup manager and I click on email nothing happens. Is there any way I can either delete the old inbox that was on my phone and resetup a new email box, or change my password on the device so that I can get my email working again.
