BB Bold 9700 :: Trouble Setting Up Personal Email?
Jul 8, 2010
I am having trouble setting up my personal email. The only option I received after checking the BIS website was this following message: Cannot create account: An account already exists for this BlackBerry® device. Please log in or contact your wireless service provider at 1-800-331-0500.
I just received my Bold 9700 today. Going through the setup wizard, I got to setting up email, but on the first screen it only gives me the Enterprise option. No option to setup personal email.
I just bought my NOKIA E71 and I am having trouble setting up my email account. I am using webmail. But I don't know what's the server name? webmail.rball.com is the address when I login.
I'm trying to set up my personal email on the 9700, but it seems that i have only one option, Blackberry Enterprise Server option. Is that suppose to be that way? I don't seem to have the " I want to create or add an email address" option.
Im using a Bold 9700, v5.0.0.442(Platforms 5.1.0.121) Carrier: M1(Singapore)
i just purchased a bold 9700 and i was trying to configure my personal email accounts. however, under settings -> setup wizard-> email setup, i only have the option to use "i want to use a work email account with a blackberry enterprise server", and nothing else. i viewed setting up personal email Internet video and from the user menu, there seems to be a possibility to select "personal email" setup where gmail and hotmail can be configured.
I bought an unlocked Blackberry Bold 9700 (original carrier is rogers) through Ebay to use it with my pay as you go Fido plan. My main reason to buy this phone was to be able to browse the internet and check my email in wireless hotspots ( I am a student so wireless internet is openly available at the university). However, under email setup the only option available to me is the Blackberry Enterprise server, I apparently should have a 'personal email setup' but it is not available. I did a lot of research on the internet and this forum but could not find a solution to my problem. I would be very grateful if someone can provide me with some answers. I also contacted the person whom I bought the phone from and apparently he does not have the answers either. Tried calling Fido and they did not offer any support as the phone one was not bought from them.
I just recently switched from a Bold 9000 (ATT, OS 5) to a Bold 9700 (ATT OS 5).On the Bold 9000, I had 2 separate icons for my email. One was "Desktop" (the email from the BES) and one was "Personal" (my gmail account). There was also an option in the email settings to determine which emails showed up in the "Messages" view as well and you could have personal, work or both show up there. Now I can't seem to find this option in the 9700.
just recently bought a blackberry bold 9700 with a data plan on t-mobile -UK. When i first went through the setup wizard i had the two options one for the enterprise and the other for personal use. I did not fill in my details so i left it at that moment to check out the other features on the phone. But the second time i came round to it, it only gave me the enterprise option which i dont want. Just wondering how i can get that option back. Also i cannot seem to be able to get blackberry apps or windows live messenger, although my blackberry messenger is working fine. please can someone help me with this?
Not sure where to post this, but my wife and I both have the 9700. Yesterday hers quit working. The phone works and sms works.Anyways my issue is this, I am using it for personal use, but cannot send/receive pin messages, my bbm doesn't send/receive invites, and it won't let me setup a personal email. When I click on setup/email the only option available is to add an enterprise email and asks for the enterprise password.Any ideas as to why this is happening or ways around this so I can use my bbm and setup my personal emails to automatically send to my phone like I had before? Mine still works perfect. Any ideas on what needs to be done to get her email set back up and bbm working again ?
When i try to set up my email it only gives me the enterprise setup? i want to register 2 hotmail email adresses but i only have wifi access i do not have BB unlimited internet.
Is there a setting to adjust how often my email is checked? I sent myself an email from one account to my other Hotmail account which is setup on the BlackBerry, but it did not appear for a while.
I just purchased a Curve 8530 and in my set up wizard I only have 3 icons. Most importantly under email set up it only gives me the Blackberry Enterprise Server option. It does not give me a personal email set up option.
My blackberry 9300 wont allow me to set up a personal email account there's only the enterprise activation option what should I do to be able to set up a personal account
I registered with the wireless network (advanced option/host routing table/register now) and received email stating registered OK. I then went to set up wizard/email set up but there is only the option to: - 'I want to use a work email account....' but nothing to set up a personal email address. I logged onto [URL] to try and register for an account, however I continually get the message 'Cannot create account This Blackberry device is not registered with your wireless service provider...' even though I received a message saying I was registered. I contacted Vodafone who confirmed that Blackberry Internet Service is set up on my monthly contract, they checked the PIN and IMEI number, but nothing worked?
I am having problems installing the Chinese fonts on my new BB 9700.I have downloaded the fonts and installed them on my laptop.I have gone to "Application Loader" in the "Desktop Manager".But the "East Asain Character and font Support" are NOT there.
I have tried to install it 3 times and tried to download and install other versons of it but still nothing.
When I open IM on my Vivaz Pro, I am prompted to create a server. When I click Yes, I am shown a screen with "access point in use" as one of the options. It is currently set to "must be defined". When I press it to edit it (I cannot save with the setting "must be defined") I am prompted to "define an access point in settings. I return to the main menu and open settings>connectivity>destinations, the only screen I have found with references to access points. After setting all access points on this screen to my home WiFi network, I return to IM only to be faced with the exact same problem. Also, I have set my home WiFi network up in the settings page, but whenever I leave that page, it changes from "connected" to "known", preventing me from accessing the internet.
I need some help setting up my Blackberry Bold 9000. I bought it off of Ebay and I have already wiped with memory. I need help setting up my email account and all of that stuff. When i try to set up a personal email address the only option I get is for setting up a Work email. This is what it says "I want to use a work email account with a BLackberry Enterprise Server"
I have one personal email on my BB and I was always able to add another one until yesterday. Now when I click on the "add email" in setup it opens a browser and tries to add an email that way asking for data I never used before. There is NO other option.
Again, I was always able to do this before and I have not changed any settings that I can think of. BB Bold 9650, bought new
How can I connect to my email for personal use? When I select email setup the only option it gives me is; I want to use a work email account with Blackberry Enterprise Server. How do I select it for personal usage??
I recently had to add my corporate email to my personal blackberry. Now I am unable to get my personal email. I have talked with Verizon wireless, my carrier and they can't seem to figure out what is going on with it.
I bought unlocked blackberry and the only option it shows is to activate enterprise account. In advanced options > Enterprise Activation it shows PIN# and Status: Not Activated. Can you tell me if I can set up email to my personal account. The first step you wrote was to remove user from BES, but I have no idea why my BB has BES at all, I bought it this way.. Can you explain your steps in more detail for BB Dummy like me
I already have a personal aol email account set on my phone, however, i also have another personal email account through my school I want to setup on my phone. I go to setup wizard, select email account and when i click on create a new Blackberry email account it just takes me back to the previous screen.
I have my own URL which has mail boxes associated with it which my family and I use for our personal email. The URL/Mailboxes are hosted by GoDaddy. Beginning overnight night before last I stopped receiving email from my personal/primary email account on my BB, email is still downloading to Outlook on my PC. I have two other email accounts that I receive emails on setup on my BB, I tested both and they are both working. I have tried a number of things to no avail. They include:Battery Pull Send test email Check BIS site to see if email address needed re-validation. NOT! Resend Service Books Send test email Re-register on network via Options>Advanced Options>Host Routing Table <It was suggested that I would find a "Blackberry Key" in the Host Routing Table but didn't find it. I pressed the BB key and selected "Register Now". I got a message that my device had been registered on the network. Resend Servcie Books Send test email That was last night. This morning I had received one email overnight, interestingly it was the same email I recieved the night before. (It is a morning devotional the I get daily. Maybe someone is trying to tell me something?) I tried another test email, no go.
I then logged into BIS again, I re-entered my password for my account, then in looking at the "Advanced Options" I noticed again that the mail server is a RIM server. I tried to change it to my mail server, the one I use in Outlook, which is a POP3 protocol server. It would not take. I tried to change the server from IMAP to POP3, thinking that the reason for non acceptance was a difference in protocols, but could find no way to do that. The server reset back to the RIM server, and I saved with the re-entered password. I then resent the Service Books again and then sent a test email which again didn't work.I would appreciate any suggestions anyone might have, the end of the rope is in sight.Sorry for such a long email, didn't know how else to give enough info to show what had been done.
im on the bold 9650 (running os 6) whenever i click on the email account set up icon, it takes me straight to enterprise email and that is not what i want. i have done resets and wipes and it does not work. i want personal emails.
I have a BB Bold 9000. ATT is my service provide.I successfully set up my gmail account as a separate email account on my BB. I had two email icons on my home page - one for corporate and the other for gmail. The emails were kept separate. After I installed the Gmail Enhanced App, my gmail started to sync into my corporate acct. I uninstalled botgh the enhanced app and the gmail account. When I went to reinstall gmail from the BB device, it resumed syncing into the corporate account. How can I keep these two accts separate?
