BB Bold 9700 :: Trouble In Installing Chinese Fonts
Aug 1, 2010
I am having problems installing the Chinese fonts on my new BB 9700.I have downloaded the fonts and installed them on my laptop.I have gone to "Application Loader" in the "Desktop Manager".But the "East Asain Character and font Support" are NOT there.
I have tried to install it 3 times and tried to download and install other versons of it but still nothing.
I´m working in China and I´m using my german mobile (E5-00) with a local provider. The provider sends me from time to time messages in chinese letters. The mobile is not able to display them (I see only boxes instead of signs)I want to know if it is possible to install the chinese fonts on the device - if the´re displayed correctly one of the colleges can translate me the message.
I am having trouble setting up my personal email. The only option I received after checking the BIS website was this following message: Cannot create account: An account already exists for this BlackBerry® device. Please log in or contact your wireless service provider at 1-800-331-0500.
I am trying to get my memopad reinstalled to me S2. I havent used it in the past few os updates, but find I need it now for various reasons. I have the .cod files saved to my desktop and have installed it several times in the past on my ( and my wifes phone) with no issues.
In the past when I installed a file with bbsak it would restart the phone with each file loaded. Now, it just blinks a white screen and gives me the installed successfully' messege, but when I check the device, it's nowhere to be found. I am on the .517 os and thought that might be the issue...so I decided to check out the other bbsak features and wiped my phone and reinstalled a 548/517 hybrid...no flaws with that, worked as usual. So bbsak seems to be fine. One last issue - when I connect me phone to the computer and run bbsak - I've been getting an error stating 'bbsak detected no device connected', but when I hit the ok, my pin is in and I'm able to do just about everything else - except load the .cod's
I recently got a bold 9700 replacing my disfunction old bold 9700. The new OS6 makes it so different. I need to read emails in Chinese . I downloaded and installed Blackberry Desktop Software version 6.0 multi-language. When go to Applications, there are only 7 applications listed. I couldn't find the "East Asian Character and Font Suppor" that I used to add to my old bold 9700.
I wonder if anyone could help. I am running android 2.1 update when I purchased the phone. However the phone came with chinese and english language input and I wish to cancel the chinese and replace with arabic. The arabic language is available however, I do not know how to de-instal chinese keyboard and replace it with arabic?
I was always the frustrated one, seeing leaked OS, but if I want to play with it, I had to sacrifice Chinese reading/writing ability. Well a bit of research got me into finally figuring out how to actually insert Chinese/Other Languages capability into any OS (especially leaked ones!). Mind you this is only for BB 9700. It's actually easier than I think =) Anyway, there are two ways to doing it. Installing it as a separate add-on (Simillar to BB Maps / Password Keeper type RIM app), or installing it with the OS. 100% sure the OS method works, .alx via app loader through DM seems to be a little buggy, still testing.
Not responsible if I break your BB! Language Packs: (9700 Only) Download the Chinese Language Resources RapidShare / mirror Download the Japanese Language Resources RapidShare / mirror..........
I used to be able to read and input chinese character on my Bold 9700.Few days ago, I connected my device to the desktop manager and it prompted me to update my device os to V5.0.0.593 (Bundle 1022, Platform 5.1.0.147). Ever since then, I am unable to read or input chinese characters.
I've read through the forum, did whichever I can find, and crashed my blackberry a few times as I think I loaded some 3rd party modules. I managed to wipe out the whole device and reload EastAsia pack (which I did at least 3 times) but am still unable to have my chinese characters on.
Before someone bashes me for starting a new thread, Ive posted in other threads and searched EVERYWHERE on the net to no avail. Getting really frustrated. My problem is pretty much everytime I try installing a new OS whether its Official or leaked, the DM or apploader refuses to recognize it. I have like 4 different OS downloaded and not one of them is recognized. I am currently stuck on 5.0.0.545 and battery life SUCKS. If it helps, it is a BELL Canada phone but to my understanding any OS from any carrier can be installed onto any berry correct?Someone please help me install a new OS!!!
I am trying to upgrade my OS through DM. I went to click upgrade after connecting my 9700, and it pops up "application uploader needs to be upgraded." I tried installing it as it advised, 5 times already and it still pops up the same message. I tried uninstalling and installing DM again with the latest version but it is still happening. Any clues on how to fix this?
I'm new to the BlackBerry but had an iPaq years ago with no internet connection. All I had to do was install a new app from my PC to the phone. I can't seem to figure out how to do that on the BB.
I have a Bible software I want to add as well as a couple of games. What is an application loader file?I went to applications/import files and tried to add my Bible software but it rejects it saying "There was an error importing files."
Despite putting the very latest firmware on my 9700, the email Settings Application ( in Setup Folder - Email settings) still takes me to a browser based setup on the BIS . my old 8900 and my work 9700 has an application type interface.. Why is this a problem ? Because it wont let me setup gmail Contact sync .. Keeps giving me a message "To start xxxxxxxx@gmail.com contacts synchronization with your BlackBerry® device, complete the security activation on your device:
1. In the Setup folder, log in to the Email Settings application.
2. After you log in, the security activation starts. When security activation is complete, wireless synchronization of your contacts with your device automatically begins." This does not work and I'm guessing because i dont have the latest email settings on the device.. I have tried re-installing firmware , wipes etc..
I have installed the software v5.0.1 then I click synchronizing I can't tick the option synchronizing email messages. this has a grey block in front of the option, what should I do?
After installing the update, i found that i can't mute the song by pressing the right corner button(mute/standby button). Does anyone also facing such problem?
I am having trouble getting my laptop to recognize the device memory or sd card installed in my BB Bold 9000. It is recognized by BB Desktop mgr but not in my Windows explorer where all my drives are listed.
I've had my Bold 9000 since August 09 and had no issues with it whatsoever. I performed a software upgrade two days ago to version 4.6.0.303 and now my battery drains within a few hours. The phone was on charge overnight on Thursday, for example. I took it off charge at about 9am and by 1pm, with virtually zero use, the battery was drained. The phone goes in to standby no problem. This morning I took it off charge at 9am and by 1130am the battery is 50% drained.
I just upgraded my BB 9900 from OS 7.0 to 7.1 on the OS 7.0 there was Chinese input but now...I want Chinese input method on my BB 9900 OS 7.1.0.267 platform 5.1.0.230 I really need the Chinese input PS: I'm from Hong Kong and my carrier website doesn't have the support
I bought my BB Bold 9780 in France and would like to install Chinese input on it. I've seen that we can download an "ALL Language" version from the BB website, but this version doesn't exist for my French vendor.
If I download it from Taiwan, will it be any problem ? Knowing that almost everywhere in the world, the used keyboard is a QWERTY and in France, it is the AZERTY ?
