I recently got a bold 9700 replacing my disfunction old bold 9700. The new OS6 makes it so different. I need to read emails in Chinese . I downloaded and installed Blackberry Desktop Software version 6.0 multi-language. When go to Applications, there are only 7 applications listed. I couldn't find the "East Asian Character and Font Suppor" that I used to add to my old bold 9700.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI was always the frustrated one, seeing leaked OS, but if I want to play with it, I had to sacrifice Chinese reading/writing ability. Well a bit of research got me into finally figuring out how to actually insert Chinese/Other Languages capability into any OS (especially leaked ones!). Mind you this is only for BB 9700. It's actually easier than I think =) Anyway, there are two ways to doing it. Installing it as a separate add-on (Simillar to BB Maps / Password Keeper type RIM app), or installing it with the OS. 100% sure the OS method works, .alx via app loader through DM seems to be a little buggy, still testing.

I used to be able to read and input chinese character on my Bold 9700.Few days ago, I connected my device to the desktop manager and it prompted me to update my device os to V5.0.0.593 (Bundle 1022, Platform 5.1.0.147). Ever since then, I am unable to read or input chinese characters.
I've read through the forum, did whichever I can find, and crashed my blackberry a few times as I think I loaded some 3rd party modules. I managed to wipe out the whole device and reload EastAsia pack (which I did at least 3 times) but am still unable to have my chinese characters on.
How do I add Chinese input on Bold 9700?

In my Desktop manager in the language section there is no Chinese available to install. What can I do? View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a great at&t 9700 today which i tested before i paid for. I got home and noticed the sim card was tough to get in and i forced it. Doing this broke a contact point off in the sim socket giving initialization failed message. I took the phone apart trying to come up with a fix of my own...... no success
-what are my options? i cannot find the main board and the socket is integrated unlike other blackberry models.
-can i buy the main board?
Apparently my device is set to automatically send out read mail receipts. Can I change that option to never send them out? On the old thread it sounded like I have no choice, but that was re: a different type of BB. If anyone knows how to even get into my options to look I'd appreciate it. I've read how other people are getting there - going from the main menu to email settings/options/advanced settings, etc, but I can't find all the "options" I need.

So i turned them on and it seems to work fine via MMS to phones that are on my same network (ATT) but the other phones i sent it to only said D for Delivered. And i know its read because i got responses. Ideas? Second, there is a delivery option for SMS but that one doesnt seem to work at all.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a new BB 9700 Bold yesterday and having problems with setting up the sync for the calendar and the contacts which are on my outlook. My hotmail email accounts are working okay. The outlook is on my PC and is the front face for my hotmail accounts.
When I go in to the BB Desktop device manager - version 5.0.1 (latest version) , I go in to the configure option on the left and it lets me click on calendar> then I select outlook and it then lets me select 'finish'. However at this stage an error box flashes up saying 'no available message stores'.
In addition when I check the wifi config on the calendar and contacts icons on the BB device it will not let me select yes on the wireless connection for them.
I have a BB Bold 2 (9700). The Media Card slot wont lock down the card and keeps springing it out. If i keep the card pressed down it works but wont lock down.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Outlook 2007 on my desktop computer and use BT as a service provider and for my email, my Blackberry supplier is Vodafone and I use BIS.I have noticed that if my Blackberry receives an email first I don't get the same email delivered to my desktop. If my desktop gets an email first then the same email will be delivered to my Blackberry. I was happily deleting emails from my Blackberry thinking I would have them all on my desktop but I now find I have to check what emails I have on each before I delete anything. Is this an issue that anyone has come acrosss before and how do I resolve it apart from synching the Blackberry and desktop?I'm often away from the desktop which is why I bought the Blackberry in the first place.
