I am having tough times trying to figure it out why Gmail messages are not automatically marked as read it on my Blackberry after I read them on my computer at the Google Webmail page. I have just read 5 emails on Google web page and they are still appearing as unread it on my Blackberry. My wife has the iPhone, and it immediately marked messages as read it as well. Do I need to set any specific setting?
View 5 RepliesI have a Blackberry Curve 8530 with v5.0.xx installed. I just setup my Gmail IMAP on my BB and when I read a message on my BB it doesn't show as read on my computer and visa versa.

Issue is I'm not seeing any of my existing / read messages on my phone. After set up I had zero messages in my blackberry email inbox. How do I go about getting these message in my blackberry email?
Apparently my device is set to automatically send out read mail receipts. Can I change that option to never send them out? On the old thread it sounded like I have no choice, but that was re: a different type of BB. If anyone knows how to even get into my options to look I'd appreciate it. I've read how other people are getting there - going from the main menu to email settings/options/advanced settings, etc, but I can't find all the "options" I need.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Yahoo on my iPhone, right? When I read an email in my Yahoo account on my iPhone, and later log into my Yahoo account, it shows those messages as read. Heck, I can even file my emails away in my folders, if I want to; i.e. move them over to my bills folder, or my purchases folder, or my mom folder.Now, here's the deal with my other account tho. I have my work emails going to my iPhone too. At work, I use Outlook. I do not know a whole lot about how things are set up over here, but I have access to answers if you guys can help me find out the right questions to ask. When I read a work email on my iPhone, and I get to work the next morning, there it is, bold and unread. I really want it to show as read. I get an obnoxious amount of work emails. The whole point in keeping up with them on my phone is to save me time in the long run. So, when I get to work and have to re-read them all, I've saved nothing. I use Facebook for Blackberry.So here's my problem - a few days ago I checked my Blackberry Bold 9700 and saw that I had received 28 email messages and 8 Facebook notifications.However none of these emails or Facebook notifications was new. They were all ones I had already received that day.
I deleted them all, and guess what - an hour later and they all came back into my email inbox and Facebook notifications.When I went to sleep that night, I woke up with 136 emails and 26 Facebook notifications - ALL OF THEM THE SAME REPEAT EMAILS OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
I have been on forums and tried removing my battery and SIM card (not very technical, that) as well as resending the Service Books after doing this. Nothing has solved this problem though.I really hope someone can help please as I'm seriously thinking of ditching my BlackBerry and buying an iPhone where this problem doesn't occur.
I saw last week on Crackberry that some users were seeing their read messages sync properly from gmail onto their BB. Have any Verizon Tour users seen this? Since last week messages I send from the web gmail interface appear on my BB but when I view a message online it doesn't show as read on my BB. Has anyone with Verizon and the Tour gotten this to work properly?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 9650 with BIS on Sprint. I get my e-mail through OWA. When I open or mark as read an e-mail on my phone, my Outlook inbox on my desktop is updated accordingly. However, when I open an e-mail on my desktop, my inbox on my phone is not updated to show that the e-mail has been opened. I have to go in an mark as read all of the items, which is a royal pain.

Things I have tried:
-Soft reset
-Hard reset (pulling battery)
-Uninstalling Facebook via app world - made it go away
-Reinstalling Facebook via app world - made it come back
-As far as I can tell, it does not show up in either Messages or Facebook app
-Went to facebook website from laptop and open/cleared all notifications
-Went to mobile facebook website from phone and clicked on link that said "clear all notifications"
-Going into Messages, selecting today's date, then menu button, and "Mark Prior Opened"
-Going into Facebook app, notifications tab, selecting today's date, then menu button, and "Mark Prior Opened"
At this point I would be happy with understanding where the notifications that appear on your homescreen are stored and if I could maybe delete a cache file or something from windows when I have it plugged into my computer.
My incoming email is being marked as read before I read them. It is an att.net email address.Â

One step forward 2 steps back! I had a problem with my e-mails I stopped receiving messages on Friday and since talking to the service centre I now have 2 icons on my main screen. The new one has a globe at the bottom and my email address at the top when I scroll over it. All very nice but totally unnecessary.
Since this icon has appeared all my emails on my main computer are being marked as read. They were not before Friday Any ideas??
So I set up my gmail account via the BIS or whatever plug-in, and all seems to be working ok. The problem is that the emails go straight to my general "Messages" inbox, but nothing shows up in my Gmail account inbox when i click on that specific icon. I do have SMS/MMS broken out into a separate inbox, but i'd like to use the gmail inbox where it threads messages with the same topic instead of the general messages inbox.tried resending service books.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI don't know if my thread title makes sense but basically what I would like to know is what are the advantages of downloading the Gmail app vs just setting up a Gmail account through my BIS (Email Settings/Add Account)? My main objective here is wireless contacts sync. I have read a lot of negative feedback regarding Gmail on a BlackBerry but I will not really even be using this for email all to often, although I will from time to time.
What I have done is just added my new Gmail account through the native BlackBerry email setup and then downloaded Google Sync. I downloaded the Gmail app but I didn't really like the UI and I like to have all 3 of my email accounts go into the same folder.
my Bold 9900. Is it possible to setup e-mail service to sync read e-mail.
I there comes new mail to my Gmail account, it immediately appears in my Bold also. If I read this mail on BB, it is marked as read also in my desktop client and on web interface. But if I read new mail in web interface or desktop client it remains marked as unread in Bold (even after few hours!) and I must mark as readed manualy in phone.
All the new emails that I receive on my BB are marked as "read" and when I receive new mail the red star icone is not displayed.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a great at&t 9700 today which i tested before i paid for. I got home and noticed the sim card was tough to get in and i forced it. Doing this broke a contact point off in the sim socket giving initialization failed message. I took the phone apart trying to come up with a fix of my own...... no success
-what are my options? i cannot find the main board and the socket is integrated unlike other blackberry models.

I recently got a bold 9700 replacing my disfunction old bold 9700. The new OS6 makes it so different. I need to read emails in Chinese . I downloaded and installed Blackberry Desktop Software version 6.0 multi-language. When go to Applications, there are only 7 applications listed. I couldn't find the "East Asian Character and Font Suppor" that I used to add to my old bold 9700.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a BB Bold 9700 V 5 and I just noticed that unread messages are not being hiden when I file them on my Outlook client on my PC. I am almost positive that when I filed a message (read or unread) in the past they were removed from my BB handheld.
Anyone know how to hide ALL filed messages and not just the read ones? BTW The setting in Email Options>General say "Hide Read Filed Messages" now and I am positive it said "Hide Filed Messages" in the past
