Oct 23, 2012Recently I have started receiving e-mails from known senders where the characters are mainly Chinese, they were certainly written in English!

View 1 RepliesI used to be able to read and input chinese character on my Bold 9700.Few days ago, I connected my device to the desktop manager and it prompted me to update my device os to V5.0.0.593 (Bundle 1022, Platform 5.1.0.147). Ever since then, I am unable to read or input chinese characters.
I've read through the forum, did whichever I can find, and crashed my blackberry a few times as I think I loaded some 3rd party modules. I managed to wipe out the whole device and reload EastAsia pack (which I did at least 3 times) but am still unable to have my chinese characters on.
I have frustrating problem. One website I frequent most will not display on my Bold 9700. It just comes out as a bunch (well, a screenfull) of garbage characters. This frustrate me because:- the non mobile version of the site works fine (don't want that, it's become much more graphic intensive of late). It's just the mobile version that won't work.- the mobile site will display properly on a wifi connection. In fact, I've been using this problem to trouble shoot a wifi setup once or twice (this is not a plus)- I've tried the website on three other blackberries, two of them bold 9700's, and they all work.- this is the only website that I've encountered that gives me garbabge. I have no issues otherwise.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen i store MP3 files on my memory card that have Japanese Kanji in their file names/song names / artists/ etc., all i get are a bunch of white blocks, rather than the proper display of the characters. Is there any way I can get the Bold 9700, running 5.0.0.405, to properly display them. I don't need to be able to input them with my keyboard, just display them as they appear on the memory card.
I want, for example, the song "Hare Hare Yukai" from "Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" to display the song title on the BlackBerry as ハレ晴レユカイ (as it is stored in the song's properties) and not as white blocks/ gibberish. I am not new to BlackBerries, but VERY new to the Bold 9700, so any help is appreciated... do i have to delete the songs from the memory card (since I moved the memory card from my old 8310) and re-add them for it to pick up properly (and delete the folder's BBThumbs.dat file too), or what?
I've just started getting what looks like Chinese characters and the string 500 in Stocks on my iPhone 4 with iOS 5. No similar thing happening with DOW J and NASDAQ. I deleted and added it back using a search on ^GSPC with the same result.

I'm based in the U.K. and I'm registered with Apple as being in the UK, but I recently visited China & bought an official Apple accessory from the official Apple Store. They asked if I wanted my receipt emailed to me, which I said yes, and gave them the email address that's registered with Apple. Ever since then, I receive emails from Apple in Chinese and now when I look at the App Store or iTunes on my iPhone 4S or iPad 4, all menus are in Chinese. I've logged into my iTunes account and it says that I'm registered in the U.K.. In addition, both the iPhone & iPad, have there regions set to the U.K.. Does anyone know how I can get my account registered back to British English and/or U.K.?

Got my nokia 5800, really happy. Installed Chinese as my second language on the mobile dictionary..... and the phone won't display the unicode characters. How can i get Chinese language support on my nokia?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Nokia E72 was bought in Hong Kong in 2009, it has built-in Simplified Chinese support (as well as Traditional Chinese and English). I can read SMS, MMS and PDF/XLS files containing Chinese characters perfectly. But when I attempt to print something, e.g. an SMS, the printed page will be messed up by a lot of block-characters (see the sample picture attached). This problem was encountered in Chinese contents only, even though these Chinese characters could be displayed correctly on the screen. I have tried this on several different printers and this issue persists on all of them. Current firmware in my phone is 081.003.240.03. I have never installed any font-changing software, and always use default settings or system fonts for the phone OS and all applications.

Recently I've updated my n8 to symbian anna and unfortunately I cannot see Chinese text messages from my friends. All the Chinese characters become small squares. In the language settings of the phone, I can only see English, French, Spanish.....All of them are European languages. I heard that only Asian versions of Nokia can support Chinese, I don't know why Nokia carries out this god damned **bleep**ing policy but can anyone show some tips to me in how to make Chinese charaters appear again on my N8?

We're trying to send some tabular data from our internal email (Exchange Server with Outlook 2003 clients) by copying from Excel 2003 and pasting into Outlook. When the message is viewed on the Blackberry (Bold 9600) the layout is all screwed up. Column widths change and it seems to randomly wrap onto a new line, sometimes with what appears to be multiple lines in between. We've tried various options (HTML mail, pictures (bitmap and metafile, the latter appearing as .gif files) and whilst the picture option seems the best so far, it still gets distorted, presumably by re-sizing.

I've just switched to a 'torch', and according to the device, I've managed to properly set up connections to two email accounts. Let's call them 'personal' and 'work'. However everything seems to be coming in to the 'personal' account - even messages sent to the 'work' address.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had problems with emails in my Microsoft Exchange account not displaying (completely blank body), not showing correct HTML content, and in some cases not showing the sender address. Now I don't know if it is inappropriate to say so on this forum, but I rooted the phone in order to uninstall the Moto email client, and install the stock ICS email client. Once I did that, none of my emails are blank, most HTML content shows correctly, and other quirky issues seem to have improved. But, the stock email client also does not have a search feature (big problem), you cannot swipe in the message list, and it's application icon does not show a badge for the number of unread emails. So it is a bit of a sacrifice to have to revert to the stock client just to be able to read my email. I have also tried TouchDown email and it displays all the Exchange emails fantastically, but it's look and feel is a bit crummy and it costs $20.

Since this morning my BB Curve 8520 has been displaying GSM. I have tried turning it on and off again and manually searching for networks but it still says GSM. I am not receiving important texts and emails because of it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy bold has this issues in which it only allows me to send 70 characters in a text, the rest is full of random spaces I can't see, and some people end up getting blank texts from me. Randomly, it could be someone on ATT or sprint whatever, what should I do besides send my phone in? Im thinking about doing that since its on warranty for another month, do you recommend another Bold.....or should I get a Curve 8900....or try out a non blackberry device, or see if they have a Bold 9700 in stock?
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I get a text over 160 characters it cuts off and says [receiving text] I have t-mobile.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWIth the update to OS 6.0 (6.0.0.6.00) frmo Sprint, I now have the ability to go beyond the standard 160 characters for a text mesage. It appears that I have up to seven text messages worth of 160 chracters that can be composed and sent. This feature was working fine until last week. Here is what is happening. If I compose a text that is 180 chracters long, only the second part (the last 20 characters) comes thru. The message will say "2/2" and then display the final 20 characters. The first 160 characters never arrive. I have tested sending a message like this to a Sprint user, ATT user and T-mobile user. They all arrived in the same manner, only the last 20 characters.I have spoken to Sprint to no avail.
