View 1 RepliesMy bold has this issues in which it only allows me to send 70 characters in a text, the rest is full of random spaces I can't see, and some people end up getting blank texts from me. Randomly, it could be someone on ATT or sprint whatever, what should I do besides send my phone in? Im thinking about doing that since its on warranty for another month, do you recommend another Bold.....or should I get a Curve 8900....or try out a non blackberry device, or see if they have a Bold 9700 in stock?
View 11 Replies View RelatedWIth the update to OS 6.0 (6.0.0.6.00) frmo Sprint, I now have the ability to go beyond the standard 160 characters for a text mesage. It appears that I have up to seven text messages worth of 160 chracters that can be composed and sent. This feature was working fine until last week. Here is what is happening. If I compose a text that is 180 chracters long, only the second part (the last 20 characters) comes thru. The message will say "2/2" and then display the final 20 characters. The first 160 characters never arrive. I have tested sending a message like this to a Sprint user, ATT user and T-mobile user. They all arrived in the same manner, only the last 20 characters.I have spoken to Sprint to no avail.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOk complete BB Newb here so please bear with me. I have a new 9650, my gf has a new Incredible (both Verizon). When we're SMSing and I use the emoticons , they don't show up like they're supposed to on her Incredible - she just gets the jumbled text characters, no emoticons . Is this a setting on her end? We've tried everything. If she uses the Incredible's smiley's in tm's to me, they show up fine on the BB Bold . . .

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently made the switch from an iPhone 6 to a SG6 Edge. I am loving the phone except for one key thing. I am unable to receive text messages that are over 160 characters. I know that once an SMS is over 160 characters, it turns into an MMS. But the thing is, my MMS settings are set up, everything should be working okay.
I don’t know if this matters but this phone is unlocked with Sprint, and I am currently using Rogers as my service provider. If I cant find any resolution to this I think I am going to have to switch phones either back to an iphone (which I don’t want to) or another Android phone.
Here is the list of things I have done to try to fix this problem:
-Factory reset my phone, didn’t work
-Configured my MMS and APN settings manually.
-Sent myself a picture message, received it fine.
-Sent myself a message over 160 characters, received it fine.
-Used the stock messaging app, as well as 3 different ones. (currently using textra due to the simplicity of it)
-When I had my iphone, I disabled the iMessage, also went on the apple website to make sure my phone isn’t linked to imessage. Its completely off
-Rogers said it’s a problem on the other end (contacts aren’t sending messages properly)
-this is false because I wont get any messages from android users, blackberry users, and iphone users. Its not just one or two contacts, its my whole contact list.
-few of my buddies have the S6 edge and none of them have this problem. (few switched from iphone)
The only solution I can possibly think of is getting a different sim card, but service provider said this will do absolutely nothing.
I run a business and I need to be able to receive SMS messages over 160 characters (no I will not use a 3rd party app which Samsung suggested. I need my texts to work.)
For the past few months, my phone has been receiving text messages with a delay of a few hours. Now, it has started receiving messages days later - most of the messages will arrive shortly after they were sent, but other arrive days later. It has also started notifying me of messages that I already received as new messages, multiple times. I have reset the phone twice, and the problem has persisted.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter updating my Sprint iPhone 4S to 5.1, every text message I send that is >= 80 characters gets split into two texts, often with just the last word in the second text. The outgoing text sound plays twice when this happens. I have comfirmed this with multiple people including myself and it is extemely annoying.

During the last couple of days I have been experiencing problems with received text messages on my Xperia Pro.The problem is that there are characters missing in the text, the main issue seems to be the nordic letters † ˜ ….The only change to my phone that might have caused this is that I intalled Whatsapp, but I don't understand how that can affect incoming sms messeages? The sms below should say:i land i Tyskland, her er det ordentlig sommervær", instead it looks like his: I have tried the "Update Service" but the phone is up to date already.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have frustrating problem. One website I frequent most will not display on my Bold 9700. It just comes out as a bunch (well, a screenfull) of garbage characters. This frustrate me because:- the non mobile version of the site works fine (don't want that, it's become much more graphic intensive of late). It's just the mobile version that won't work.- the mobile site will display properly on a wifi connection. In fact, I've been using this problem to trouble shoot a wifi setup once or twice (this is not a plus)- I've tried the website on three other blackberries, two of them bold 9700's, and they all work.- this is the only website that I've encountered that gives me garbabge. I have no issues otherwise.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen i store MP3 files on my memory card that have Japanese Kanji in their file names/song names / artists/ etc., all i get are a bunch of white blocks, rather than the proper display of the characters. Is there any way I can get the Bold 9700, running 5.0.0.405, to properly display them. I don't need to be able to input them with my keyboard, just display them as they appear on the memory card.
I want, for example, the song "Hare Hare Yukai" from "Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" to display the song title on the BlackBerry as ハレ晴レユカイ (as it is stored in the song's properties) and not as white blocks/ gibberish. I am not new to BlackBerries, but VERY new to the Bold 9700, so any help is appreciated... do i have to delete the songs from the memory card (since I moved the memory card from my old 8310) and re-add them for it to pick up properly (and delete the folder's BBThumbs.dat file too), or what?

My blackberry App World has started to generate the error: UUID Must Be 36 Characters Long.
I know that it it App World for the following reasons:
1) Absolutely no changes have been to the phone.
2) App World loads when the phone is rebooted (battery removal and replaced). However, when it is selected it will not display.
3) When I uninstall the application the error goes away.
Uninstalling and reinstalling the software has not resolved this issue.
Starting to use Speed dial and the character A, V, and W are used by presets. Is there any way to Free up these characters? Especially the A which locks the keyboard.

Ever since then, I am unable to read or input chinese characters.
I've read through the forum, did whichever I can find, and crashed my blackberry a few times as I think I loaded some 3rd party modules. I managed to wipe out the whole device and reload EastAsia pack (which I did at least 3 times) but am still unable to have my chinese characters on.

View 4 Replies View Relatedfor some reason my Hero isn't receiving text messages. I have updated the PRL, Profile, and checked for firmware updates.. no luck. Do you think it possibly needs to be reprogramed? This is the second odd thing that has happened with my phone. First was it resetting itself back to the theme, and layout I had a week prior. I woke up and everything was changed back like someone did it.
