The text icon disappeared and I do not receive notifications of new text messages. The only way I can find a text is to locate the sender in my Contacts.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with a brand new Bold 9700. When receiving a text (SMS) the user's name is not displayed, just their mobile number details. All the details of the person are stored in my contacts on the phone, and if you click the options against the text message, it then figures out the name of the sender as it adds their name in the options to email, call, SMS etc.I went into the SMS options and initially saw that the "Show names" option was marked as "No". I thought, aha changed it to "yes" but this makes no difference.
My O/S is v5.0.0.344 (Platform 5.1.0.96)
Carrier is Vodafone in the UK
I did see other posts for updates, but these related to O/S version 4xx which seems to be a different version to mine (which also seemed strange as mine is a brand new phone), and so was kind of scared to try that on my O/S.
My phone is giving me an error. It says Error 28>=28. I'm not able to send or receive any text messages.

But one problem i'am having trouble with sending and receiving text messages. I have called att customer care numerous times and powered cycled my phone as many times as I can count but still nothing, I have also checked to see if the "service center" number is correct and it is, I still have no clue what it could be. When i send an sms text message and scroll up to the message it says "sent" and the date and time but i ask the recipient if he/she has received the text but still nothing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9900. Under "contacts" I have created a distribution list, mainly my baseball team so if a game is cancelled, I would like to address them all in one swoop. The problem is, only 8 out of 18 receive a text. I go to the "text message" icon, press the blackberry button on "compose text message". When it asks "To:" I select from my contact list, my baseball team.
Some of the entries on my list have an email address only while others have both. What do I have to do to successfully reach everyone on the list? Would it work better if it were only email or mobile addresses? Does it matter whether they are MTS or Rogers customers for their cell phones? Do I require to add 1+then the area code for the cell phone numbers?
I did do a search on this before I posted it, however the one thread out there really didnt answer my question so sorry for the re - post. Does anyone know how or if you can delete the option to receive a text message when getting and deleting a visual voicemail? Previous post stated that you can't do it or that it was a bug. thought now that some time went by someone might have came up with a fix.

1-I can't send or receive texts from certain contacts (right now it only seems to be from my boyfriend, we're both on At&t).
2-My text threads lock-up. A new text comes in, but I can't actually open the message. I can open all the previous messages, but any message at the top won't open.
His text message gets interrupted halfway through by an old message he sent before (be it a previous message from a few minutes ago or from weeks ago!) It only happens with texts from him, no-one else. I've tried deleting our conversation but it makes no difference. It's getting so frustrating cos I have to keep asking him to text me again and a lot of the time I just get another 'cracked' text!

View 14 Replies View RelatedSo I can receive texts from everyone in my contacts and who I normally text, but this one girl in my contacts has been telling me she receives my texts but then complains when I dont answer her, but I have not been receiving these texts. So I am curious as to what could be the problem with my Iphone 4? Ive updated it to 5.1 today to see if that was the problem but we are still having issues, and I also checked that she is also using verizon.
