BB Storm 9530/9500 :: Text Messages Are Disappearing - How To Get Those Messages Back
Jan 19, 2010I am using the Blackberry Storm, I believe the 9530 (its the first gen). Anyway, just recently my text messages only stay for a couple of days and then they delete themselves or simpley disappear.
There have been numerous cases where I need the information someone sent me in those messages, but I can't seem to find them. Is there something wrong with how the phone is set up? Is this a memory thing? Is there a way to get those messages back, are they stored somewhere?
BB Storm 9500 :: Cannot Send Text Messages
Aug 14, 2010I can't seem to send text messages (but i can receive them). I'm told by my carrier that i need to change my service center number (and they provided it). I've been looking all over the phone for this option, and can't seem to find it. I keep seeing posts saying "On your device: Options > SMS > Service Center." but "service center" does not appear when i go to options>SMS text. I see the following; screen options conversation style: show names: message options priority: callback number: disable autotext: so my question is;, where do i find this?

Jun 4, 2010alright so i have threaded messaging on my storm 9530 and i was looking at one of my txt convos and scrolling up and it was getting kind of complicated cause i was trying to access a message from about two weeks ago but i txt so much after about 5 minutes i was only up to maybe 3 days ago. Is there a way i can organize my txts like bbm has it where its in a folder marked person and followed by date ? this would make my life so much easier.

Jul 26, 2010I have a symbol I can't identify next to one of my text message conversations. It looks like a tiny cell phone. The symbol appeared when I texted a friend who recently moved to China. He still has his same American Blackberry but no data plan, hence no BMMing, but his messages still appear in my BBM chat list with the same symbol. The conversation shows up under in my text messages like it normally would as well. What does this symbol mean? Does it have anything to do with him leaving the country/deactivating his data plan?

Jun 5, 2010On my Storm 9530, if I was texting more than 160 characters i used to be able to type a page, save it as a draft and do the same with subsequent pages. I could review all the drafts to make sure they made sense and then send them one after another so that the recipient received them at about the same time.I recently "Upgraded" my software. I don't seem to be able to do this anymore. I have to send page 1 and then start typing page 2. And once i've send page 1, of course it's gone and no corrections can be made. The recipient then gets page 1 and has to wait to see where I'm going until i can send page 2 and then page 3, etc.Is there any way around this inefficiency? Can I get my old system back?

Mar 22, 2010How can I make my Storm use the letter I instead of U when typing an SMS? I use the SureType setup and everytime I wasnt to put 'I' it automatically puts in 'U'.
If I dont' notice it, it can lead to some pretty confusing messages!
Can I stop this? God knows why it does it. I hate text speak so have no need for just the lonely random letter U!

Jan 23, 2010For the past 4 or 5 days I am waking up to find my 4 E-Mail accounts wiped off my Storm. I add them again and by the nex day they are all gone again. I went to a Verzon Service center and they were at a loss as what to do. They suggested I go home and call a Verizon tech to walk me through a hard reset. I insisted on calling from the store which clearly irrritated the employees there. When I spoke to the tech at the 800 number she was incredulous that they wouldn't help me at the store. She asked to speak to the supervisor there. They had a short conversation and he hung up and said I need to do a hard reset but the store policy is not to do that.
So, I went home and calle dtech support again and did the hard reset and reset my 4 email accounts. This was last night. This morning 2 of my accounts were deleted from the phone and the other two, while there were non-functional. The E-Mail setup function was gone from my phone. I had to do a restore to get it back and reset my accounts again. I'm guessing my only recourse is to go back to a verizon store again and insist on yet another replacement? I'm really beginning to hate Verizon.
BB Torch :: Will Not Send International Text Messages?
Sep 20, 2011Has anyone else had this problem. The phone will receive but not sent an international text and yes I have it set up with my provider. The error message I receive is short message transfer rejected.. My provider has warranted the phone 4 times in the last 2 months. IM sure they are tired of dealing with me. Is there a fix for this problem.

Mar 22, 2012I have an iPhone 4. Since day one that I bought the phone, I have not been successful to send international text messages. The procedure for sending an international text message is simple: enter 011, followed by the country code, and then the phone number. It has never worked. Each time, I get the following error message -- "Message Send Failure". Any ideas for fixing this problem? What surprises me most is that I have an HTC Trophy with the same Mobile Service provider. No problem exists with the HTC Trophy for sending international text messages.

On my storm I had the ability to tie in with my yahoo mail account by adding a new email address - yet on the 2, the option to add a 3rd party mail program is no longer there - and only can use BB internet service for mail. Is there no way to add 3rd party mail now without using their forwarding service directly?

It appears that I have up to seven text messages worth of 160 chracters that can be composed and sent. This feature was working fine until last week. Here is what is happening. If I compose a text that is 180 chracters long, only the second part (the last 20 characters) comes thru. The message will say "2/2" and then display the final 20 characters. The first 160 characters never arrive. I have tested sending a message like this to a Sprint user, ATT user and T-mobile user. They all arrived in the same manner, only the last 20 characters.I have spoken to Sprint to no avail.

Jun 6, 2010Up until recently, I had an e-mail folder that contained only e-mail messages and had my username as the name of the folder. All of a sudden, it disappeared and my messages folder appeared in its place. Now all messages (including e-mail) show up. Before I had moved he messages folder to a different place because I didn't like it on the home screen and wanted to separate my messages and keep them in their respected folders instead of one conglomerated folder. What happened to my e-mail folder?? I looked in every section and folder to see if I accidentally moved somehow but its gone! Has this happened to anyone else? Was there some recent OS update with this new change?
If not, how do I get my e-mail folder back?

May 9, 2010I just bought an unlocked storm2 free and clear - no contract (upgraded from Curve with no data plan). I have continuous wi-fi as my internet company provides me with unlimited wi-fi access wherever I go in the US so my plan is to access my e-mail thru wi-fi.
Is pop3 e-mail set up possible without BES, BIS or data plan? Is there a 3rd party e-mail apllication available for blackberry, much like for pc where you can configure a 3rd party software (i.e., ms outlook, ms express, etc.) for your e-mail.
Right now the only way I can check my e-mail is by logging into the internet via wi-fi and going to my internet provider's web site. That is a hassle though as I have to go thru several steps before I can actually check my e-mails.
BB Storm 9500 :: Retrieving Yahoo - Mail Is Extremely Slow
Jan 11, 2010I'm using a Storm 9530 on the T-Mobile network. When I first unlocked the phone everything was fine and dandy, but I found out that I needed to update my APN to a TMO friendly one, so I did. After that, everything was still fine and dandy. But EARLY this morning I started having this problem with my BB trying to retrieve my Yahoo! mail. Sometimes it takes a minute or so and other times, most of the time, it takes around 15 to 20 minutes! It wasn't doing this before and it's kind of frustrating.
What's even worse is that my Hotmail and BB Mail get updated instantly, but not the Yahoo! one.
A similar thing is happening with my Facebook updates. I'm not getting them as often as I used to be...
I've tried doing several battery pulls.
I've tried removing the sim card and placing it back in.
I've tried resending the books.
I've tried deleting the Yahoo! mail and setting it back up again, but I still have this problem.
The T-Mobile APN that I'm using is epc.tmobile.com

BB Curve :: Keeps Freezing/Typing Random Characters?
Jun 25, 2011I was working a festival as Security/Staff yesterday and I dropped my phone a few times, I got bored sitting around so I downloaded an app called Erie PA Scanner, it worked okay for awhile, then I went to dial somebody and it kept pressing 3 down at a time, wouldnt let me erase, and it was a big problem. Ive had this problem before too, I was just able to delete the app... then it went back to normal, but now I cant even enter my password properly to gain access to my phone . What should I do here ? She got it two days ago, and from the get-go, when she types, particularly in Blackberry Messenger, it types the words backwards and changes the letters to weird characters.
