A friend of mine JUST got a replacement BBerry Curve 8330 (US Cellular) after her last one bit the dust. She got it two days ago, and from the get-go, when she types, particularly in Blackberry Messenger, it types the words backwards and changes the letters to weird characters. It doesn't do it all the time. She brought it over and I updated the software for her, and we did a battery pull, but it didn't fix it.
View 5 RepliesI was working a festival as Security/Staff yesterday and I dropped my phone a few times, I got bored sitting around so I downloaded an app called Erie PA Scanner, it worked okay for awhile, then I went to dial somebody and it kept pressing 3 down at a time, wouldnt let me erase, and it was a big problem. Ive had this problem before too, I was just able to delete the app... then it went back to normal, but now I cant even enter my password properly to gain access to my phone . What should I do here ? I absolutely need this phone

I have deinstalled all apps -- reloaded OS 7.1 tried just about everything problem started at noon today and happened on and off for a while but now is all the time.part of the problem now is i cant unlock the bb due to the password letter combination -- have to access it through desktop manager.

View 8 Replies View RelatedTheres this weird notification icon on the notification bar, and it's an envelope, with what I believe is a blackberry symbol in the center, and a red circle with a 1 on the top right corner I believe. I checked other forums, and I followed their instuctions to go to the main email and click the show all one, but there is none. I also tried clicking "mark all prior unopened" and nothing happened. It is really bugging me. I also checked my bbm, all of the apps, and everything else there is to check, but nothing has happened.

It looks like some sort of sundial (the clock replacement we used when we did not have clocks) with a red star and 1 written before it. Tried every app, message, etc. etc. but to no avail. I would upload the picture (I have munched the screen using an app), were it not for my knowledge of how to upload pictures on.
I'm not sure if this happened after my upgrade to .592, but when I hang up after a call or close the camera, I hear the country song "Your Man". It is so weird. I have my profile as Vibrate, event sounds off, even turned it to silent, it still plays.

It's like the tone if you have a call waiting, but the thing is there is no other call. It's getting pretty annoying because it does this on every call. The wife's phone does the samething. We do have the latest update on the 8530.

I realized yesterday that when I deleted hundreds of photos from my SD card, there were 'empty' files still sitting in my photo album on my bb.. When I look in my SD card on my computer, all the files I deleted are gone.So I tried formatting my SD card to completely erase everything and start over. I formatted it on both my computer and my blackberry. But the weird files are still sitting in my photo album!Does anyone know how I can get rid of them?

View 1 Replies View RelatedUpdated my env3 last night to VX920V06 as well as my fiance's and now our ringtones are listed backwards. Instead of going from A to Z they go Z to A. Not a huge deal but just annoying when you are so used to it the other way.Oh and I should add this happened after I added a ringtone using bitpim. So maybe it is a bitpim related issue not the update. Or a little of both.

For example, if I try to send an SMS to 63555 it converts it to FRDDD when entered, then when the SMS is sent, it displays (in red) Unidentified subscriber.Is this a problem with the software? I cannot find any setting to disable the search that changes the number to the characters.

For example, if I'm facing north (which the compass recognizes) and turn to the right to face east, the compass actually turns to the left to point west...and vice versa. No problems whatsoever with north and south....just a 180degree reversal of east and west.

I like everything about my new 920 except vibration noise, and this horrid Nokia Maps app which is forced on us...Problems with Nokia Maps:Lack of integration with the rest of the operating system. Nokia maps is an island to itself. I click an address from a people hub contact, it opens Windows Phone Maps, not Nokia Maps. I click an address from a Bing search which has a dedicated hardware button, and it opens Windows Phone Maps, not Nokia Maps. I click an address in an email, you guessed it, it opens Windows Phone maps. Searching in Nokia Maps has terrible resultsI tried 3 searches today during the course of my day using Nokia Maps. Si Laa is a Thai restaurant I wanted to try a few miles from my house with an obviously unique name. The results I get are for Joyce Cafe, something in Germany and Slovenia. Next I try UPS in hopes it will find the company owned UPS Customer Center a quarter mile from my house. It doesn't find it at all, but does find alot of ups stores that are further away. Nokia Maps choked on another restaurant in Beverly Hills I tried to find. My wife's iPhone 4s had no problems with any of these. Local surface street traffic info is missingOn the Lumia 920, I don't get any surface street traffic info. I do see traffic info for highways and freeways. I used to get local surface street traffic on my old HD7S Windows Map. Windows Phone Maps shows some sporadic street traffic data but is not quite right either. I called Nokia about it, the level 1 techie tells me I'm supposed to have local street traffic but has no further explanation and has escalated to level 2...Nokia removed the Windows Phone Maps.As shown in the first point above, Windows maps is still clearly on the phone, but Nokia removed the tile for it from the app list. There doesn't seem to be a way to directly open Windows maps. This would be fine except that Nokia maps, which is supposed to be the replacement, is worse than Windows Phone maps in so many ways.There isn't a single reason to use Nokia Maps over Windows Phone Maps.The only reason I use it is because Nokia has seen fit to make Windows Phone Maps hard to start by removing it from the apps list.Nokia should leave both map apps available and in the apps list.
If Nokia Maps is the superior product, people will use it. Right now I'd say Windows Phone maps is superior in every way and that's a shame for Nokia who is supposed to be a mapping leader...

1. Sometimes when typing SMS, the cursor will keep moving backwards and hang there (sounding tut tut tut... continuously and unstoppable)
2. Sometimes the vibration on touching the screen will suddenly become stronger than normal, like suddenly Zeeek, zek, zek rather than normal zek, zek, zek~
I am not sure whether it is common in V50 firmware or it happens only to my specific phone.
I have commented on this many times.. Am I the only one that is seeing this happen.. It doesn't always do it but it will do it in the stock browser and Dolphin HD to.. Instead of the cursor moving backwards to remove misspellings it moves forward.. I've yet found a browser that works with G-Mail properly..Stock browser looks like i'm in a mobile mode but no longer see the dbug function any more.. It looks the same on the browser as using the gmail stock app that came with the Xoom... I hate it.. Not a real Gmail experience to me, too many functions missing.. Anyone have any suggestions as to seeing and using gmail on the Xoom as it would look and perform on the laptop.. HD Browser won't even allow me to reply to an email.. It won't pop up the keyboard no matter what i try, looks good on the browser untill you touch something then everything starts shaking and jerking around

View 14 Replies View RelatedI use the SMS a lot (20 Ã 50 msgs/day) and am trying to find the T9 (predictive writing, or whatever it's called) for English, Dutch, French, because it's so much faster, but I can't switch it on, and at the shop they tried too but to no avail. There is a sort of dictionary in the device because I found word lists in Dutch/French/English but it doesn't seem to work when typing an SMS. I bought my device in a regular shop in Belgium (Phone House).
View 7 Replies View RelatedMe and my daughter both have the 8900 Blackberry. Mine is fine for a year and a half now.My daughter just received a free replacement for her broken one last week. It was probably refurbished because it was free. Anyway, when she types SMS text the letter O or E comes out after almost every keystroke. It's very fustrating. I had her re-boot, had her remove auto-text, etc. It's still happening.
Does anyone have a possible solution or is it a defective phone?
