BB Bold 9700 :: Delete Vendor.xml File Once Installing OS?
Mar 6, 2010Do I want to delete this file once installing the latest leaked OS for my Bold 9700, or is this specific only to certain OS?

Mar 6, 2010I was going through my memorie card and I was attempting to delete pictures. I would click delete and the message "the selected file is read only.are you sure you wish to delete file" I click yes and the picture is still there.

Feb 26, 2010Sorry if the answer to this is elsewhere. I finally found out the reason why my UMA does not work.As I got the handset from a third party (Carphone Warehouse) - the Vendor ID is 301. It needs to be 142 (Orange) for Oranges UMA to work.I have no reception at my house, which is the whole reason I bought a blackberry.Does anyone know if I can change the Vendor ID of my handset to 142 so that the UMA will function? Or, do I have to replace the handset with an Orange branded one?

Jun 16, 2010Before someone bashes me for starting a new thread, Ive posted in other threads and searched EVERYWHERE on the net to no avail. Getting really frustrated. My problem is pretty much everytime I try installing a new OS whether its Official or leaked, the DM or apploader refuses to recognize it. I have like 4 different OS downloaded and not one of them is recognized. I am currently stuck on 5.0.0.545 and battery life SUCKS. If it helps, it is a BELL Canada phone but to my understanding any OS from any carrier can be installed onto any berry correct?Someone please help me install a new OS!!!

Jun 24, 2010I am trying to upgrade my OS through DM. I went to click upgrade after connecting my 9700, and it pops up "application uploader needs to be upgraded." I tried installing it as it advised, 5 times already and it still pops up the same message. I tried uninstalling and installing DM again with the latest version but it is still happening. Any clues on how to fix this?
My computer is Win7 64bit Sony.

Aug 1, 2010I am having problems installing the Chinese fonts on my new BB 9700.I have downloaded the fonts and installed them on my laptop.I have gone to "Application Loader" in the "Desktop Manager".But the "East Asain Character and font Support" are NOT there.
I have tried to install it 3 times and tried to download and install other versons of it but still nothing.

The first thing that I did was go to BlackBerry - Update your Device Software and downloaded the 4.6.0.185 OS, but I did not delete the vendor from the 4.1.etc.What happens when you install the new OS, but don't delete the old vendor?P.S. Can someone also tell me how to look at my memory on my Bold again? I forgot where it's located at.

Jul 14, 2010Despite putting the very latest firmware on my 9700, the email Settings Application ( in Setup Folder - Email settings) still takes me to a browser based setup on the BIS . my old 8900 and my work 9700 has an application type interface.. Why is this a problem ? Because it wont let me setup gmail Contact sync .. Keeps giving me a message "To start xxxxxxxx@gmail.com contacts synchronization with your BlackBerry® device, complete the security activation on your device:
1. In the Setup folder, log in to the Email Settings application.
2. After you log in, the security activation starts. When security activation is complete, wireless synchronization of your contacts with your device automatically begins."
This does not work and I'm guessing because i dont have the latest email settings on the device.. I have tried re-installing firmware , wipes etc..

Sounds like lots of apps buut they are all under 1mb.

Trying to download it, wether I used the link, and wether I used the S3 link inside the page on the browser, got me stuck. So I decided to download it to my local computer, and install it via web server I've created locally.Then it downloaded the file, but after downloading it, it installed nothing. Sep 10, 2010I was messing around with my blackberry and accidentally removed Windows Messenger. How do I get it back. There's no undo button and I realised it as soon as I had done it. I think it's still downloaded on my phone as I am still signed in to messenger, I just can't locate the file. Can anyone help me with this?
