Motorola Droid Razr HD :: Play An Audio File From File Manager?
Dec 15, 2012Using the stock File Manager app I can see audio files on my Maxx HD's internal storage and also on the SD card. I happen to be looking at ringtone files. If I tap on the filename to play the ringtone, Amazon Cloudplayer pops up and shows all the music files on my SD card. No ringtones can be found. If I back out of Amazon Cloudplayer and use the file manager to try finding and playing ANY audio file on EITHER my SD card or the internal storage I get sent to Amazon Cloudplayer. I then have to use the back button to get back to the file manager icon in the App drawer. Same thing happens if I try to play audio files on my SD card. Amazon Cloud Player pops up. I don't want to use Amazon Cloud Player to play an audio file in SD storage.
If I connect my phone to my PC and navigate to the ringtones on internal storage and click on them they play as per usual (Windows media player). If I use my PC to play audio files on the SD card they play as usual.Why does my phone default to Amazon Cloud Player when I tap on an audio file in File Manager? What is the stock audio file player on the Maxx HD? Why can't I browse to an audio file with the file manager and tap on it and have it play? How do I fix this?
BB Bold 9700 :: No Handset Audio - Headset And Speaker Audio Works Fine
Jun 20, 2010I have audio through the headset or speakerphone with no issue but none through the handset. Did a battery pull but that did not resolve the issue. I also just upgraded to Rogers OS 5.0.0.743 not sure if this is what caused the problem.

But for some reason it decides to not play certain songs and i get a notification at the bottom of the screen saying "unable to play audio file". View 5 Replies View RelatedBB Bold 9700 :: No Audio Alerts For Email - How To Get Them Back
Feb 11, 2010Just activated my new Bold 9700 with Bell this morning. Everything works except for the email audio alerts.I'm quite frustrated with it as I have tried many solutions, hopefully a tech rep here can provide a method that I have not already tried.
When I receive an email, the LED light comes on, the red asterisk appears in the main message section but there is no audio alert. I have the profile set to normal, sonar ping as the audio choice and set to always on inside or out of holster. This all started after I tried syncing with the contacts of my old device, a Blackberry 8830 with Bell.
Here is a recap, in chronological order.
-9700 activated, voice calls work, classic phone ring tone works, went to BIS site, set up my two email accounts with Gmail and Yahoo. Received messages and email audio alerts.
-the problem started once I synced my old 8830, version 4.5.0.127 with desktop mgr and transferred the address book and BB msgr contacts to the 9700.
-the email audio alerts stopped working on both gmail and yahoo, still getting the emails though. Strange because when the audio alert worked, the red asterisk indicating a new email would appear on both the message section and the gmail/yahoo message section. With the audio alert not working, the red asterisk only appears in the message section.
-at this point, the 9700 is running on v5.0.0.3 something
-the sync also failed to transfer the 8830 address book phone numbers to the 9700. The names and email addresses were transferred but no phone numbers.
-changed the profiles by selecting a different audio alert, turned the wireless network off and on, removed the battery for 5 minutes and re-booted. Still didn't work.
-wiped the device, set up the email again, email audo alerts still not working.
- at this point, I returned to the dealer for help. They used their desktop manager to sync with my 8830. Their sync worked better as the phone numbers were able to transfer over. Again though, no email audio alerts.
-dealer spent 90 minutes, yes 90 minutes working on my device. He did the same methods I tried......twice. They wiped my device.....twice. Updated the service books, changed the normal profile to a alert tone other than sonar, still not working.
-store was closing so dealer suggested I remove the BIS email from the old 8830. Keep in mind my 8830 and 9700 have different mobile numbers on seperate accounts.
-return home and decided to do the opposite of the dealer's suggestion, I deleted the BIS email (through BIS site on my PC) on the 9700 instead of the 8830 and registered it again. It worked!!! Getting email audio alerts on both email accounts!!! Now sync it to desktop manager for back up, once I do it asks if I want to upgrade to v5.0.0.423. I back up my profile and click ok.......bad idea. Once that happenned, the email audio alerts stopped working again.
-restored the back up data I just saved, email audiio alerts not working. Then removed and re-added the BIS emails again, plus updated new service books and audio alert options in normal profile.
-repeated battery removal, turning network off and on, no luck.
As of this moment, I have a 9700 with v5.0.0.423, updated service books and two BIS emails (gmail and yahoo) that are still not giving email audio alerts. Is this a software issue or a defect within my own device? What can I do to correct this? It's imperative for me to reply to my BIS emails in a timely manner so the email audio alerts are a must for me.
Also, my 8830 was on a BES up until four weeks ago. Now it's on BIS only although one of the BES settings is still present and I haven't been able to remove it. I'm talking about the password security feature, the 8830 always asks for my pw to unlock it. Haven't been able to disable it from the security options screen.
BB Bold 9700 :: Streaming Audio Or Listen Live
Mar 8, 2010Is it possible to go to a radio stations' web site and use their streaming audio or 'listen live' feature? I had no problems doing this with my last smart phone (Samsung). Apparently the BB platform doesn't support streaming audio. Why not is my question and is there an application to remedy this. This is my first BlackBerry and although I really like the phone.. the user interphase leaves a lot to be desired.

Jan 14, 2010I just got myself the Bold 9700. Ive managed to load movies into it and they work fine except one minor glitch. Now the pic quality is brilliant and there is audio too but the only problem is that there is a few seconds delay between the audio or the dialogue and the actual scene. The audio is 1 or 2 seconds later than the actual scene.
Also when i first loaded video files into the phone and i played the file for the first time i got an option "optimize screen for playback" Upon selecting this option the video got into full screen mode but now i just do not get this option and the videos r really very small so i'am using a software where i have to increase the resolution that fits into the screen.
BB Bold 9700 :: Intermittent Audio And Flashing Headset Icon
Jun 24, 2010I'm having problems with the audio on my Bold 9700.It's turning off and on every second and there's a flashing headphone icon in the top left corner of the screen.I plugged headphones into the phone for a while yesterday - I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.It's really ridiculous that RIM doesn't have actual tech support people that customers can call.

BB Bold 9700 :: Media Player Will Only Allow To Play 2 Songs?
May 11, 2010I just bought a 9700 a week ago and am already having a small problem! As of yesterday, whenever I open and use my music player and select shuffle and repeat all, the player will only play 2 songs, and then stop- not playing anoter song, and not shuffling to the next song. Furthermore, when I's listening to a song and press the menu button, I see on the menu list, that besides the shuffle and repeat options there is this "{2}" which I assume, means to play only 2 songs.
If anybody could advise me how to get the player back to it's old fab way of shuffling all songs and playing them throughout, rather than just 2 songs then stopping- i'd be eternally grateful

Nov 15, 2012I have a blackberry 9700 with BIS which I've just upgraded the software from OS5 to OS6, I'm having a problem opening and downloading any music and videos from the internet, I can browse through perfect but when I try to save it takes forever to download 1 percent and then says failed, I previously had this problem with the OS5 software as well, it used to work fine when I first got the phone but recently started failing to download so I upgraded to OS6 and the problem is still the same, there is nothing wrong with my memory card as I've tried with another memory card and the problem still continues.
