Recently I have been getting low application data free space messages on my balckberry bold 9700. I have upgraded the OS to version 6.0 bundle 2115. There are not much third party applications on my phone. From the application management screen I am seeing the OS taking up approximatey 127MB and the combined storage used by the third party applications I have running on my phone is approximately 50MB. However, I am seeing that there is only 7MB free out of 250MB of application data space.I suspect that the old OS is still stored on my phone in some system folders. Where can I find these files? and how can I troubleshoot this further?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to update the software on my Blackberry Bold to OS 5, using the Blackberry Desktop software on Mac OS 10.5. However, each time I try and do the update I am told there is not enough free space on the phone. I have done the soft reboot and now have around 28 MB of free memory. The Blackberry Desktop software tells me I need 22 MB to install the updates. I have three email accounts set up to store messages for thirty days, and very few applications (Facebook, Google Maps etc). The applications I have on my phone do not add up to 22 MB, so even deleting all of them would not create the free space needed, and I don't think all the stored e-mails should take up too much space (unless attachments are stored on the phone memory as well - can someone confirm whether they are?)

I'm a new user to BB device. From Blackberry webpage and manual, they stated that if we wish to update our device OS, we can either update through the web (Desktop Manager) with our computer or through our device itself via service provider (Wireless update).
If I have downloaded an OS package and wish to update it manually, what are the steps for this purpose and how? Please someone explain in brief, will appreciate that and how am I to ensure that the previous version of OS is removed? I'm currently reading about how to backup my data and 3rd party data, once I'm clear with everything, will proceed with the upgrade.
Does anyone know why I get this email once or twice every morning? Then I go and validate it and sometimes its takes a few tries (even though I input the same information everytime)
"Update the password for ..... in the BlackBerry Internet Service! Email messages and changes to your address book contacts from ..... are not being delivered to your BlackBerry device. To resume receiving email messages and address book contacts from this email address, updated the password for .... in the BlackBerry Internet Service: " and then it continues to instruct me how to do this...
I would be really grateful.Where or how can I obtain totally FREE info/application to recover files accidentally deleted off a BB Bold 9700 please?
View 5 Replies View RelatedYou know when in windows on your pc. You look at C: drive and there is a kind of pie chart there saying how much is used. I know an SD card is not like a disk but it would be yummy to see a similar thing on my BB. Is there such an app? Or even anything similar?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI moved to BlackBerry Bold 9700 about two weeks ago. Everything works great, except for one issue. Images in my HTML email messages don't download. I have tried all combinations of settings on automatically download images and confirm images download, in the Options > Email Settings menu. What happens is: When I hard reset the phone (take out the battery and reinsert it), and then do Get Images, images download. However, this continues only for some 3-4 hours, or say about 10-15 messages. After a point, Get Images doesn't download images. Even the arrows on the top right of the screen, that indicate an attempt to download, don't come. It almost seems like the phone has kept a limited space aside to download images in HTML messages, and this space is filled up and hence it stops downloading. The moment the battery is taken out and reinserted, Get Images works. But again for some time only.Tried taking Vodafone's help. They updated my Service Book, which according to them is the "standard solution" to Images downloading problem. But nothing happened. Which is expected, because they were possibly giving me a solution for images never downloading. In my case, they download for a bit, and then refuse to, till hard reset.Tried finding where any memory related settings could be there. Found a thing in Settings > Memory > Compression. Tried both Enabled and Disabled, it doesn't help.
View 8 Replies View RelatedFor about a week my phone has been adding extra periods and spaces when I press the space bar. This has been happening with SMS, MMS and email. I knw about that short-cut (press the space bar twice to enter periods) but its doing that after almost every word. I have changed the sensitivity to the lowest setting possible but it continues to do it, even when i text slow. Not sure as to what I should do.

There was 9GB of free space available the day before today. I went into the "about" area and it says 0 bytes available?
Any way to restore back my space? I don't really want to re-jail break it, it's too customized.

I unplugged the iphone and restarted the PC. Plugged it back in and then it gave an error. It cannot read the contents of the iphone go to the summary page and do a restore. I did a full restore and put it back to factory settings. Plugged it in and Itunes saw it but again would not sync due to file not found or other errors. Unplugged it and back in and now it again says it cannot read the contents of the iphone and I need to do a restore. I tried 2 other computers it says the same thing.

I'm not a fan of DRM, I think it's a mindless short-sighted technology that only inihibits legitimate users. All music and software is easily available DRM free through illegitimate sources that shall not be named but are trivial to find. So I wasn't pleased when I synced my BB this morning with iTunes (9.1) and found that it didn't copy nearly 10% of the songs due to DRM issues. Sadly all these songs (31) were legitimately purchased on iTunes. This had not been a problem previously.
So either the desktop manager update I have (5.0.1.37) or the latest iTunes (9.1.0.79) has upped the ante on DRM to drive people away from buying from legit sources: the net result for many users is to continue to bypass legitimate purchases of songs, to avoid such foolishness. I know better than to approach Apple: they do not support iTunes, and I don't know the best method to feedback to RIM.
