Does the Motorola HS820 Bluetooth Audio Headset work with the Blackberry Bold 9700? It is not clear to me if only Blackberry bluetooth devices work with the Bold 9700, or any bluetooth device. With the Bold 9700 recognize to ask for the four digit code when first aligning it with the HS820?
View 4 RepliesI have audio through the headset or speakerphone with no issue but none through the handset. Did a battery pull but that did not resolve the issue. I also just upgraded to Rogers OS 5.0.0.743 not sure if this is what caused the problem.

I plugged headphones into the phone for a while yesterday - I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.
It's really ridiculous that RIM doesn't have actual tech support people that customers can call.
I have found it almost impossible to get a wired headset to work on my bionic when in my car (which has built in bluetooth, and which is bonded to the phone just fine). The only way I can make the wired headset take precedence over the bluetooth, and/or the phone's speaker phone, is to:
1. Make a call in the car (any mode).
2. Plug in headset.
3. Click on the phone's speaker icon (headset works for 1/2 second before sound reverts to bionic's speakerphone).
4. Unplug and plug the headset into the bionic, often 2 or 3 times.
Obviously this sucks and would cause a terrible accident if one were driving and doing all these procedures. I have read every documentation on the phone to no avail. I have called Motorola twice, to no avail (and was hung up on by the tech), and called Verizon tech, who also hung up on me.

I cannot pair it with any bluetooth headset, specifically it doesn't detect any bluetooth headset (I've tried with 3 different models). I'm sure Bluetooth is working 'cause I can connect the device to my PC. I've already tried everything, I've set in pairing mode both the headsets and the device but still nothing. I've tried "listen" mode and "search" mode yet nothing work.
This might seem like a minor issue for someone, but I'm often driving while speaking on the phone, can't do without this option.
I just brought a blackberry bluetooth headset HS 300 so that i can listen to wireless music, but when i pair my bluetooth headset to the blackberry it doesn't play music and there is no option to play music via bluetooth in the music menu.Does that mean my bluetooth headset device cann't play music at all?And is there any software available wich will allow my blackberry to play music via bluetooth?My device is Blackberry Bold 9900.

I'm having problems pairing the BlackBerry Bold 9700 (on Vodafone) with a Visor Go. I've set the headset into pairing mode, and the BlackBerry lists it. It also lists the available services. The BlackBerry then asks if I'd like to connect to the device. When I select 'Yes' it throws an error saying "Connection to Visor Go failed". I'm pretty clued up with phones and managed to pair an iPhone to it. But for some reason the BlackBerry just doesn't like this device. I've tried everything I can think of, like rebooting the device, setting Trusted to Yes and No, deleted the device and found it again (multiple times). Is there something I'm missing, or is it just a case of incompatibility? I'd imagine it is compatible because it finds it and knows what services are available.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI cannot use headset/headphones with my Bold 9700. Whenever I plug them in, they are recognized for about a second and then the device defaults back to the speaker. I've wiped the device and tried multiple sets of headphones. I'm running OS 5.0.0.566. Headphones used to work but I don't quite remember when the problem started. (started before .566 so I'm assuming that's not the problem.)
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a 9700 Bold with ATT and the OS is v5.0.0.405. Alright so a couple of weeks ago my blackberry has started developing an annoying problem. When in a call, most of the time (not all) it starts switching between the headset icon and the normal speaker. When this happens, you can hear the phone switch between the two through the speaker, and it makes it so i cant hear anyone and they cant hear me. I'm out of my 30 day warranty from ATT but i think im still well within the RIM warranty. I have admittidly dropped it, but this still shouldnt be happening. Nothing like this has happened to any other phone I have owned. Is there anything i can do to get some sort of replacement?
View 10 Replies View RelatedWhen I make a call and I want to turn on speakerphone I just usually press the speaker or "$" button. Now if I do it just gives me the headset icon not the speaker icon. This started to happen when I use my BB as my mp3 player using an ipod earphone.
And sometimes when I make or answer a call, the phone keeps switching from handset to headset icons nonstop! I did a batt pull and it didn't help.
my BB 9700 will only make/recieve calls with a headset attached. When I remove the headset during a call or before, the phone starts flipping between Headset and phone. I can't make or answer any phone calls with just the phone. My speakers work fine with music or other apps. It's just making or answering a phone call that makes the phone switch between headset back & forth. Does anyone know how to fix this or possibly why it happened? Is anyone having this same problem?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI had my Bold 9700 plugged into speakers and listening to Slacker like I have done in the past. Now when I try to make a call or receive a call the "Headset" icon flashes on and off as tho the headset is plugged in when nothing is plugged into the jack. This overrides speakerphone too. So basically I can receive and send a call but it cuts in and out quickly since it thinks the headset is taking over.
Not sure if this is a glitch or if something happened when listening to music. Nothing looks abnormal when I look into the headset port. I was thinking maybe I should update the software to see if its a software or bug.

I downloaded an episode of my favorite TV program so I can watch it on my BB while on the plane or waiting at the airport tomorrow but I just noticed that right from the getgo, the audio and video do not sync. I've found similar threads but they relate to the Bold 9000 and the Curve 8900. Is there a way to fix this?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI just purchased and tested the Miccus Bluetooth Audio receiver.The setup and syncing of the device was easy and successful.However, as soon as I began playing back any media on the phone and outputting the sound via the wireless Bluetooth protocol, I heard very bad static and distorted sound on the stereo, which is connected to the Miccus receiver.I then tested the Miccus receiver on my roommate's 8530 blackberry and the sound was crystal clear! What gives? And could this be a software or hardware issue with the 9650?(phone calls via separate bluetooth headset work fine)

Yesterday, I was going for a walk and decided to plug in my headphones into my blackberry and listen to some music. It worked really well until I pulled the headphone jack out and now when I make a phone call, the phone switches from headset to handset over and over again. I have tried resetting it, pulling the battery, etc. but nothing has worked. How can I get this to work properly?

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust activated my new Bold 9700 with Bell this morning. Everything works except for the email audio alerts.I'm quite frustrated with it as I have tried many solutions, hopefully a tech rep here can provide a method that I have not already tried.
When I receive an email, the LED light comes on, the red asterisk appears in the main message section but there is no audio alert. I have the profile set to normal, sonar ping as the audio choice and set to always on inside or out of holster. This all started after I tried syncing with the contacts of my old device, a Blackberry 8830 with Bell.
Here is a recap, in chronological order.
-9700 activated, voice calls work, classic phone ring tone works, went to BIS site, set up my two email accounts with Gmail and Yahoo. Received messages and email audio alerts.
-the problem started once I synced my old 8830, version 4.5.0.127 with desktop mgr and transferred the address book and BB msgr contacts to the 9700.
-the email audio alerts stopped working on both gmail and yahoo, still getting the emails though. Strange because when the audio alert worked, the red asterisk indicating a new email would appear on both the message section and the gmail/yahoo message section. With the audio alert not working, the red asterisk only appears in the message section.
-at this point, the 9700 is running on v5.0.0.3 something
-the sync also failed to transfer the 8830 address book phone numbers to the 9700. The names and email addresses were transferred but no phone numbers.
-changed the profiles by selecting a different audio alert, turned the wireless network off and on, removed the battery for 5 minutes and re-booted. Still didn't work.
-wiped the device, set up the email again, email audo alerts still not working.
- at this point, I returned to the dealer for help. They used their desktop manager to sync with my 8830. Their sync worked better as the phone numbers were able to transfer over. Again though, no email audio alerts.
-dealer spent 90 minutes, yes 90 minutes working on my device. He did the same methods I tried......twice. They wiped my device.....twice. Updated the service books, changed the normal profile to a alert tone other than sonar, still not working.
-store was closing so dealer suggested I remove the BIS email from the old 8830. Keep in mind my 8830 and 9700 have different mobile numbers on seperate accounts.
-return home and decided to do the opposite of the dealer's suggestion, I deleted the BIS email (through BIS site on my PC) on the 9700 instead of the 8830 and registered it again. It worked!!! Getting email audio alerts on both email accounts!!! Now sync it to desktop manager for back up, once I do it asks if I want to upgrade to v5.0.0.423. I back up my profile and click ok.......bad idea. Once that happenned, the email audio alerts stopped working again.
-restored the back up data I just saved, email audiio alerts not working. Then removed and re-added the BIS emails again, plus updated new service books and audio alert options in normal profile.
-repeated battery removal, turning network off and on, no luck.
As of this moment, I have a 9700 with v5.0.0.423, updated service books and two BIS emails (gmail and yahoo) that are still not giving email audio alerts. Is this a software issue or a defect within my own device? What can I do to correct this? It's imperative for me to reply to my BIS emails in a timely manner so the email audio alerts are a must for me.
Also, my 8830 was on a BES up until four weeks ago. Now it's on BIS only although one of the BES settings is still present and I haven't been able to remove it. I'm talking about the password security feature, the 8830 always asks for my pw to unlock it. Haven't been able to disable it from the security options screen.
Is it possible to go to a radio stations' web site and use their streaming audio or 'listen live' feature? I had no problems doing this with my last smart phone (Samsung). Apparently the BB platform doesn't support streaming audio. Why not is my question and is there an application to remedy this. This is my first BlackBerry and although I really like the phone.. the user interphase leaves a lot to be desired.

I just got myself the Bold 9700. Ive managed to load movies into it and they work fine except one minor glitch. Now the pic quality is brilliant and there is audio too but the only problem is that there is a few seconds delay between the audio or the dialogue and the actual scene. The audio is 1 or 2 seconds later than the actual scene.
Also when i first loaded video files into the phone and i played the file for the first time i got an option "optimize screen for playback" Upon selecting this option the video got into full screen mode but now i just do not get this option and the videos r really very small so i'am using a software where i have to increase the resolution that fits into the screen.
When you are using bluetooth headset, the proximity sensor doesn't work? Is it a bug in Android v2.1 or am I missing something? I'm using MW-600 with X10i Android 2.1 if that matters.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy iPhone 3GS used to work well with a Motorola H700 headset and the bluetooh in my Lexus. All of a sudden, I could connect with the H700 or the Lexus and place a call but there was no audio received or sent even though the screen in the Lexus said it was being sent/received. I have checked all settings; I have removed and re-setup the iPhone on both devices and to no avail. Is there something I am missing? I know the bluetooth system in the Lexus works because i can connect my Morotola SLVR to it and get audio both ways.

I have had a Bold for over 2 months and the Bluetooth has stopped working. In the menu screen it says it is connected and I am showing Bluetooth rather than hiding it. But on the front screen alongside my 3G sign, GSM bar WiFi signal and Blackberry sign (which are all lit up) the Bluetooth symbol is there but greyed out. Does this mean there is a technical hitch which is why I cannot transfer stuff via Bluetooth. When I connect my headset, the Bold flashes blue but when I go to tap the headset and speak a name it does nothing. Similarly when I go to send a photo I get the error "File Transfer Failed to find service".
