My Bold 9700 all of a sudden started rapidly switching from handset to headset which makes it impossible to make or receive a call since you can't hear. You can hear it doing the same thing even when you're typing in a phone number....is there a fix? I have tried battery pulls etc....
View 5 RepliesWhen I make a call and I want to turn on speakerphone I just usually press the speaker or "$" button. Now if I do it just gives me the headset icon not the speaker icon. This started to happen when I use my BB as my mp3 player using an ipod earphone.
And sometimes when I make or answer a call, the phone keeps switching from handset to headset icons nonstop! I did a batt pull and it didn't help.
I am having a lot of problems trying to get my blackberry to function properly. Yesterday, I was going for a walk and decided to plug in my headphones into my blackberry and listen to some music. It worked really well until I pulled the headphone jack out and now when I make a phone call, the phone switches from headset to handset over and over again. I have tried resetting it, pulling the battery, etc. but nothing has worked. How can I get this to work properly?
View 10 Replies View RelatedEvery time Iam on phone it keeps switching between handset and headset auto and very fast so it keeps cutting every second I installed new bbm .65 everythink working fine then I mistakely downloaded .57 cancelled it when I rebooted phone no bbm, so I reinstalled .65 bbm and it was really laggy and slow so I reinstalled it again and now that is happening to my phone?

Cannot have a conversation at all. I have to use the headset.I tried manually selecting handset, speakerphone but nothing. I have to resort to using the headset, then it stays in headset mode.#2: I remove the headet pin, re-insert it. This somehow activates music. I have to always go in and stop it.I had this problem a few months ago and then a few days ago. Both the times i managed to make it go away. I believe I did the following:- Headset in- Power down- Remove battery- Power back up- Remove headsetMy guess is that sometime when you remove the headset, it does not understand it 'cleanly'. First time (few months ago) I was just listening to music via headset. 2nd time (few days ago) I had it connected via my AUX connection to the car stereo.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 9700 Bold with ATT and the OS is v5.0.0.405. Alright so a couple of weeks ago my blackberry has started developing an annoying problem. When in a call, most of the time (not all) it starts switching between the headset icon and the normal speaker. When this happens, you can hear the phone switch between the two through the speaker, and it makes it so i cant hear anyone and they cant hear me. I'm out of my 30 day warranty from ATT but i think im still well within the RIM warranty. I have admittidly dropped it, but this still shouldnt be happening. Nothing like this has happened to any other phone I have owned. Is there anything i can do to get some sort of replacement?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have audio through the headset or speakerphone with no issue but none through the handset. Did a battery pull but that did not resolve the issue. I also just upgraded to Rogers OS 5.0.0.743 not sure if this is what caused the problem.
View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently I have been getting a problem with my 9700 Blackberry. When I make or receive calls, I can not hear anything out of my handset. The person on the other line can hear fine (Usually with me going Hello Hello a million times!) The only time I can hear anything is when I have my bluetooth on or switching it to speakerphone.
I tried doing the soft reset (battery pull when the phone was still on) ...still nothing. Although it did work a couple of times. Its on and off, but recently the situation has gone from bad to worse.Anyone out there with the 9700 with the same issue? It's really annoying and I do use the phone a lot for important calls.
I have recently started experiencing rapid battery drain on my 9700. If I charge it to 100% and unplug it from the charger when I go to bed, when I wake up its on critical battery (no bars left). During the day it lasts from morning to about 4pm.I first tried a security wipe to get rid of all my apps. No luck.
I then updated my OS to the latest version (.545) and I'm still having the same problem.I have no apps running, apart from the default five. I only get about 10 emails a day and make 1 or 2 calls.So, is it the battery or the phone itself?
I've used my Bold 9700 every day since I got it back in November. I typically charge it every 2nd or 3rd night with the wall charger while I sleep and have been very happy with the battery life. Two days ago while in my office, I noticed the battery was very low, so I used the USB cable to charge it. It seemed to work well, but the charge didn't seem to last as it needed to be charged the very next day. I chalked it up to the possibility that it didn't fully charge from the USB connection, so I plugged it in to the wall charger last night as I typically do. This morning it was fully charged, although I did notice it was a little warmer than it usually is. Now, 6 hours later, with almost no use, the device is completely dead! At first I thought it had shut off, but I just plugged it in to to find the device boot up once power was supplied. I checked the device status and it says it has 2% power. Does anyone know what may have happened or have any advice for things I can check?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I just looked at my 4G LTE indicator while it was blue and saw it rapidly disappear switch to a white/bluish box for 1/10 of a second and then the 4G LTE indicator reappeared in blue. This is all while streaming Pandora. The phone seemed to keep switching every 15 seconds or so for 5 minutes before I decided to reboot. The reboot seems to have fixed whatever it was for now.
I still wonder if it was a software icon glitch, data connection issue, or something else.
I have a new work Bold 9700 it seems to have no wifi option can you buy a Bold without this or do all 9700 have wifi.

I would love some feedback.. By the way i dont have any Wi-Fi, i want to use 3G.. there is a 3G symbol in the top right so it should fail connecting to Wi-Fi and go 3G?
I have had my BB Bold 9700 for about six months and love it for the most part.Just recently, the trackpad stopped being responsive as far as being able to move the selector bracket (cursor?) around to select an icon for a program or even move the cursor within any program.At first, waiting a little bit would help.Then turning it off and on with the red key worked.When that stopped working, I did a battery pull and it worked a few times.Then when that stopped working, I did a battery pull and held the escape key (the arrow that does the uturn right?) which I understand from the threads that I have read is BB safe mode.This did not help.Now it is frozen and I cannot get it unfrozen.The last thing I did was load a game (Final Fantasy), but I have been playing that for over a week with no problem then, out of the blue, this problem started yesterday.

I get the password prompt but upon entering the password it just goes back to the locked screen with the padlock.Using Alt + Back button I can scroll through a number of open apps but can not open or close them it, then freezes and displays a white screen until I pull the battery.
Numerous battery pulls later and still no joy.The only change on my device yesterday was a number of failed attempts to download Docs to Go ver 2.0 from the App World yesterday. My BB does a scheduled battery pull each night at 2am and the phone has been like that since the last scheduled pull (forget the name of the app).
Edit to highlight - I know the password is working as it re-prompts if I type it in incorrectly on purpose and after 2 attempts asks me to type in Blackberry.
I have a Orange Blackberry 9700 which I have had unlocked. The phone is unlocked and reads the T-mobile SIM card, however I am having no luck at all with email and data facilities on the Blackberry.I have contacted T-Mobile and they have attemepted to send the service books to me however they are not reaching me. They have been through a whole host of procedures to try and get the problem sorted including doing a security wipe and also restoring the email accounts, I have tried to send the service books to myself through the BIS website as well.
It seems odd that I can not connect to the Blackberry Wireless Network because I my device pin is recognised on the T-Mobile website. I have tried to register the device using Host Routing Table but still no joy.If you have any clue as to why I can not access data services then I would really appreciate some help. I do have my data plan enabled, I know sometimes this can be a reason why people have this problem.
My bb 9700 isn't showing my messages. I've tried changing the settings in my SMS inbox to show both messages and emails,but that doesn't work.

i have checked all the menus and options a gadzillion times, but there seems to be no way around setting up an email without going through the enterprise service.so, i just want to confirm that before i decide to either dump the phone or subscribe with china mobile's blackberry service
I was receiving multiple texts and my phone froze with the indicator light still blinking. I pulled the battery, and now my phone loads up to 3/4 of the way and just freezes. I tried a soft reboot, and multiple battery pulls nothing has worked. Any suggestions?

The pictures look great and seem to adjust under bad lighting, great camera but when i installed barcode scanner program and tried it i realized the auto focus is not working and from what iam reading, even it it worked you have to use the right convence key, makes upclose pic hard to take. I tried pulling the battery, lowered quality setting "whats the point in that?", set auto focus to "normal" and "upclose" but still the camera's not focusing. I tried all this through the barcode program and just using the camera, someone please help, everything else seems to be working great.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI got a refurbished Bold 9700 today. I have it set just as I did with my old one, but it WILL NOT vibrate and ring at the same time. If I have vibrate checked to on and vibration with ringtone checked to on, it vibrates twice and then rings. If I go into custom, it still vibrates BEFORE ringing. The phone is still on AT&T's official .405 OS right now, and I'm doing the update to .593 right now. Maybe that will help? I'm not sure.

View 7 Replies View RelatedFour days ago it just stops sending texts and calls. When I try to send an SMS a little red clock appears next to the message and then after a few minutes it says 'Retries Exceeded'. Whenever I place a call it immediately turns up 'Call Failed'.Then I realised I wasn't receiving texts/calls either.All my bills are up to date, Orange have checked twice now that there isn't a bar on my account, I have set it to 2G only and 3G only, neither did anything so it's back to 2G&3G, I've checked I'm connected to the right network, I have pretty much full signal. I can use BBM and 3G reliant apps such as Facebook but I cannot send/receive emails with either of my accounts.I've updated to the latest OS and I even fully wiped the handset. Done numerous battery pulls.
Tested my sim card in a friends Bold and I suddenly received dozens of unread text messages and numerous missed calls.Kind of worried right now, as I bought this second hand ages ago... it wasn't provided with my contract (which was an LG Arena that I sold to help pay for the Bold) and I have no insurance to speak of.
I'm heading to an Orange shop tomorrow to see what they say, but I've got an awful feeling it's done for and I'll have to cope with my old Nokia 3310 (it's not even colour screen!) for the next 6 months while I save up enough money to buy another Bold...

I am just wondering, if I am going overseas and want to use 9700 with the overseas prepaid BB service and prepaid SIM card, how do I configure my phone so I can get all functionality (BBM, emails, etc)?Right now I have an unlocked overseas 8520 that I am trying to use with AT&T service and I am having problem using AT&T BB service with 8520.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI migrated to a different carrier. I setup a new blackberry email address on it. When I used BB Desktop Manager restore to bring my data onto the 9700, it brought my old email address along with it. The new carrier has no clue on how to erase it. I have to be careful now to make sure I am choosing new carrier when sending out emails otherwise they won't send. How do I delete the old carrier email address? From the handset or from Desktop Manager?
