BB Bold :: Phone Keeps On Switching Between Headset And Handset Mode?

(Posted incorrectly in the 9780 forum, so posting here)Blackberry 9700v5.0.0.296 (Platform 5.1.0.83) FolksHave started having this very weird problem, make that problems.#1: I get a call.. i start the call.. phone keeps on switching between headset and handset mode. Cannot have a conversation at all. I have to use the headset.I tried manually selecting handset, speakerphone but nothing. I have to resort to using the headset, then it stays in headset mode.#2: I remove the headet pin, re-insert it. This somehow activates music. I have to always go in and stop it.I had this problem a few months ago and then a few days ago. Both the times i managed to make it go away. I believe I did the following:- Headset in- Power down- Remove battery- Power back up- Remove headsetMy guess is that sometime when you remove the headset, it does not understand it 'cleanly'. First time (few months ago) I was just listening to music via headset. 2nd time (few days ago) I had it connected via my AUX connection to the car stereo.

I am having a lot of problems trying to get my blackberry to function properly. Yesterday, I was going for a walk and decided to plug in my headphones into my blackberry and listen to some music. It worked really well until I pulled the headphone jack out and now when I make a phone call, the phone switches from headset to handset over and over again. I have tried resetting it, pulling the battery, etc. but nothing has worked. How can I get this to work properly?

Every time Iam on phone it keeps switching between handset and headset auto and very fast so it keeps cutting every second I installed new bbm .65 everythink working fine then I mistakely downloaded .57 cancelled it when I rebooted phone no bbm, so I reinstalled .65 bbm and it was really laggy and slow so I reinstalled it again and now that is happening to my phone?

When I make a call and I want to turn on speakerphone I just usually press the speaker or "$" button. Now if I do it just gives me the headset icon not the speaker icon. This started to happen when I use my BB as my mp3 player using an ipod earphone.
And sometimes when I make or answer a call, the phone keeps switching from handset to headset icons nonstop! I did a batt pull and it didn't help.

My Bold 9700 all of a sudden started rapidly switching from handset to headset which makes it impossible to make or receive a call since you can't hear. You can hear it doing the same thing even when you're typing in a phone number....is there a fix? I have tried battery pulls etc....

I have a 9700 Bold with ATT and the OS is v5.0.0.405. Alright so a couple of weeks ago my blackberry has started developing an annoying problem. When in a call, most of the time (not all) it starts switching between the headset icon and the normal speaker. When this happens, you can hear the phone switch between the two through the speaker, and it makes it so i cant hear anyone and they cant hear me. I'm out of my 30 day warranty from ATT but i think im still well within the RIM warranty. I have admittidly dropped it, but this still shouldnt be happening. Nothing like this has happened to any other phone I have owned. Is there anything i can do to get some sort of replacement?

I have audio through the headset or speakerphone with no issue but none through the handset. Did a battery pull but that did not resolve the issue. I also just upgraded to Rogers OS 5.0.0.743 not sure if this is what caused the problem.

My memory Card was working well until yesterday it started switching off my bb and any other bb whenever I place it in them. I even tried a memory card reader and it didn't work. I don't want to lose my data!

It just started doing that and I can't get it to stop. It only stays on handset for half a second and then switches to headset (even though there is no headset plugged in) and then right back to handset and so on...
I think it started doing right after I used some regular headphones for listening to some music.
BTW I can't even use speakerphone because it only stays on speakerphone for half a second and then goes back to handset/headset/handset...
Also now every time I plug in headphones for some reason it starts my music playing, but strangely it starts playing the music through the handset not the headphones.

I used the regular headset that came with the device. Now when i disconnect the headset, the headset icon remains on and i cannot used the handset normally....

I have had my Storm 2 for 5 months and it has performed flawlessly. Yesterday I plugged in the earbuds that came with the device for the very first time. Immediately after removing them the device began switching between headset and speaker mode. If playing music, it switches to headset mode for just a second or two then back to speaker and the music is paused. It does exactly what happens when you actually plug the headset in and then remove it; the headset icon and volume meter appear for a moment along with the system beep, then it returns to speaker with the music paused. I have wiped the device, blown compressed air into the headphone jack, removed the headset while music was playing, and repeatedly plugged the headset jack in and out with no resolution. The Verizon Wireless Knowledge Base has no information on this problem.

About a week or so ago, the handset stopped working on phone calls on my Verizon 9930. I would have to put the phone on speaker in order to hear the person on the other end. I just updated to the latest OS that was released yesterday (7.1.0.580) and the problem is still there. Can't remember what triggered the handset to stop working, as I didn't do anything different to the phone, or drop it, etc. I should add whether receiving or making the call, it doesn't work either way. Also I've tried soft pulls (alt + upper case + del) but not a battery pull. Figured the OS update worked the same as a battery pull.

I have been experiencing a funny problem when charging my N97. I bought my phone in August last year. It had been working fine till now and still is. I really have no complaints when it is concerned to performance and usablity. Initial issues were promptly solved with the firmware updates.
Yesterday night, I found out that I had this problem. When I hooked up my phone with my charger, it did not show any light. I tried to use the charger on another mobile(SAMSUNG) which sports the same USB port as my N97 and it worked ! I also used the samsung charger (though its only 700mA) on my N97 and the charging indicator glowed ! To my surprise, the charger adapter pin that ships with the N97 allowing us to charge the phone with older chargers also allowed me to charge my phone. In short, everything charged my phone(including USB) except the provided charger.
Secondly, of lately the headset has become dogdy. Earlier, even if I ran while having hooked up, the connection was good. Now, even if I move the slightest, the phone looses the connection with the headset and the headset icon disappears. Then I need to plug it out and the plug it in again for about 2-3 times to get the icon to reappear. Now if anyone can explain to me why this is happening and the solution to it, I would be really happy.

Recently I have been getting a problem with my 9700 Blackberry. When I make or receive calls, I can not hear anything out of my handset. The person on the other line can hear fine (Usually with me going Hello Hello a million times!) The only time I can hear anything is when I have my bluetooth on or switching it to speakerphone.
I tried doing the soft reset (battery pull when the phone was still on) ...still nothing. Although it did work a couple of times. Its on and off, but recently the situation has gone from bad to worse.Anyone out there with the 9700 with the same issue? It's really annoying and I do use the phone a lot for important calls.

my BB 9700 will only make/recieve calls with a headset attached. When I remove the headset during a call or before, the phone starts flipping between Headset and phone. I can't make or answer any phone calls with just the phone. My speakers work fine with music or other apps. It's just making or answering a phone call that makes the phone switch between headset back & forth. Does anyone know how to fix this or possibly why it happened? Is anyone having this same problem?

I've got a 3GS which was 3.1.3. I had to restore because a few apps wouldnt load properly. When I restore and it finishes it comes up with the itunes & cable screen and iTunes says its in recovery mode (error 1015) and i must restore it - again.I've tried a couple of things including irecovery but my PC is a win7 64bit system and it kind of killed off all my USB ports. I've tried on a Vista Machine and also tried on iTunes 9.1 and the new Beta.
Will Apple sort it out? Will they send it off or replace it if they cant get it working again? It's only got a few days left on the warranty

My iphone 3gs keeps switching between silent and regular modes when I have the silent button depressed. It seems to have a mind of it's own. I'm currently using ios 5.1, but I don't know if this is a software problem or it's something with the phone itself.

My phone gets stuck in headset mode whenever I plug in my earphones. I unplug the earphones and the headset icon is still at the top. Tried reinserting the headphones and pulling out and still doesn't disappear. No sound will play through my speakers when the icon is there. The only way to turn it off it seems if when I restart the phone. It happens to this on different types of earphones too. I can't listen to music anymore without having to restart my phone afterwards

For the sake of modesty, this is my 1st Blackberry. Have to admit I was skeptical BUT it is a beautiful device despite it isn't the all-friendly Windows OS (insert sarcastic grin here). Now I have scoured a good bit of forums, websites, etc. yet I haven't been able to figure out how to switch TO portrait mode. Reason being, I have downloaded Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (gotta love vintage SEGA!) and installed it but when I go to open it (it's in my downloads folder) the screen says: "Landscape mode is not supported for this application. Please switch back to portrait" at least that's what I assume it says as some of the words are cut off from the screen, I reckon because it is, ahem, in landscape mode.

I have bold 9000 kinda new to it.i was typing some notes in MEMO app on my bb and noticed that if i want to type numbers than i have to hit ALT + NUMBER all the time to get the numbers up on the screen wat if i am just typing number - its kinda pain to keep hitting alt everytime.is there a way to switch it to number mode ?
