I have bold 9000 kinda new to it.i was typing some notes in MEMO app on my bb and noticed that if i want to type numbers than i have to hit ALT + NUMBER all the time to get the numbers up on the screen wat if i am just typing number - its kinda pain to keep hitting alt everytime.is there a way to switch it to number mode ?

So I am writing everything down as a memo on my BB.Is there a way to set this memo as a home screen so I am always concious of what I am spending? lol. When I had a Sony Erricson many moons ago you could set a memo as home screen and you could still see the picture I had set as the home screen but you could faintly see the text over the image if that makes sense?
I am hesitant to change one of the Shortcut Keys on the side to Memo Pad because I use them a lot for camera and calendar.
Is there a way to remove the anoying apostrophes that gets automatically inserted by my BB when i type one letter in a txt msg followed by a space? Lets say i type:I would like to see a sample 1 please What will actually be displayed is:I'would like to see a'sample 1'please Here has to be a way to remove this!

Even though I can see a name on the list of contacts,when I type in that persons name in the search box, I get nothing. What am I missing? The same is true when I go to call someone. I know that the contact is in my list. But I cannot get the number to come up when I start typing in the first or the last name.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI finally decided to use my Bold 9000 back again (fyi the battery was in the phone the entire time for the duration that I didn't use it) but now, ever since I've been charging it, the red thing lights up but soon disappears when I connect it to my wall charger. I've made sure I removed the SIM and Memory Card but still nothing appears and it's been hours now but the Bold just won't switch on.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo earlier today before I went in to school I put my phone in bedside mode (so that the led would not blink (I use berrybuzz, which is very bright)) then locked the keyboard and put it in standby, for added security, before putting it in my book bag. After 2nd period I got my phone out and it was hot, as if it had been continuously downloading something or playing a video. The screen was dim but never turned off. The battery, which was at 100% only 1 or 2 hours earlier, was drained to 1 bar. I checked to see if any apps were running, with no luck, and then pulled the battery out and left it out until about an hour ago or so. The phone is fine now, but I don't know what happened.

But everything got erased from the 9000 (contacts, everything!) and nothing got uploaded to my 9700. Is there any way I can find the lost info??? I am pretty sure i never did a back up from the 9000. View 1 Replies View RelatedWent to an at&t store today and played with the 9800. I had been excited about it, but had never used a touch screen before. Wow, forgetting any issues that “may” exist with OS or the device itself which others have more than covered enough elsewhere in this forum, I was somewhat disappointed. As implied, it’s not the device or OS, but the use of a touch screen vs. my Bold 9000 that I love so much (and thus I’d probably have the same view with switching to any other touch screen device, BB or not). (However, the 9000 keyboard still IMHO exceeds all others including the 9800, which I found to be small, even for my small fingers).
But for those of you who have switched from similar devices to a touch screen, how was the experience? How long did it take to get fully used to a touch screen etc.? One thing I anticipate missing - believe it or not - is the ease of getting around on my Bold. Now I have PocketDay and have 2 short cuts assigned to every key. Not sure if I’ll have the same abilities on the 9800 etc.
It's a bit annoying really, can I change this? I've looked but can't find anything in the settings

Have to admit I was skeptical BUT it is a beautiful device despite it isn't the all-friendly Windows OS (insert sarcastic grin here). Now I have scoured a good bit of forums, websites, etc. yet I haven't been able to figure out how to switch TO portrait mode. Reason being, I have downloaded Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (gotta love vintage SEGA!) and installed it but when I go to open it (it's in my downloads folder) the screen says: "Landscape mode is not supported for this application. Please switch back to portrait" at least that's what I assume it says as some of the words are cut off from the screen, I reckon because it is, ahem, in landscape mode.

Cannot have a conversation at all. I have to use the headset.I tried manually selecting handset, speakerphone but nothing. I have to resort to using the headset, then it stays in headset mode.#2: I remove the headet pin, re-insert it. This somehow activates music. I have to always go in and stop it.I had this problem a few months ago and then a few days ago. Both the times i managed to make it go away. I believe I did the following:- Headset in- Power down- Remove battery- Power back up- Remove headsetMy guess is that sometime when you remove the headset, it does not understand it 'cleanly'. View 3 Replies View RelatedOn a number of occasions now I have found that my N900 becomes stuck in Mass Storage mode and I'm unable to change it to PC Suite mode. Things I try each time, removed data cable and plug it back in; clear USB devices; power N900 off and start again. Non seem to work and at some point in the future I'll get asked again and can swap mode. Is there a way on the N900 to make it change once connected?I know PC Suite is next to useless with the N900 but it is so much simpler doing appointments etc on the pc keyboard!

OK so i feel like i have tried everything and i cant seem to find my BB bold 9000's IMEI number anywhere! I bought and used this Blackberry new in South Korea with SK Telecom, never any issues.but now im back in the US and am wanting to unlock and use it here.the only problem is that i cant find the IMEI number anywhere.when i try *#06# it comes up and says "unsupported file"and options> status shows only:
signal
battery
file free
PIN
IP address
now there IS a white sticker under the battery with a barcode and appears to be 15 digits long, BUT it has a few letters mixed with the numers and something tells me thats not it?
My daughter was playing with my phone yesterday and now when I try to dial out it brings me to the screen but I have to hit the number twice before it will actually dial. How can I fix this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWell as the title says, I think someone has my exact PIN number. Not the 4 digit security PIN, the "unique" handheld code for BlackBerry's. I found it odd one day when my bbm friends were saying I was asking them "Who are you?".
And when my friends asked who "I" was, he said Thomas, which is not my name! I checked my own PIN, and the PIN of Thomas, it's the same! I never had this problem before. Could it be that just in a billionth of a chance that RIM had made 2 BlackBerry's with the same PIN? his BlackBerry and turns out it's the same as mine.

At first it was just one sms and the number has gone up to 4 unread sms messages and i have looked and searched everywhere, deleted, did numerous battery pulls, even leaving the battery out for an extended amount of time, tried changing the theme etc etc. Is there any way to fix this?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9000 and this morning my BB Desktop manager told me that there is a new software update available and recommended (as always) it. I have started the process and as the device was about to restart it indicated software update failure and now my BB is stuck in boot mode and won't go further.What is the solution? I have recon that I will be loosing all my data on it regardless of what I am doing but right now the device won't go pass the booting screen.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble with some things that I havent been able to figure out by now and this is my last resort where to find answers. This issue is really bugging me. After literally spending two weeks with my service provider telephoning most time waiting in witing for a call center agent to get connected to and being each time transferred to another division to a last being transferred to the divission where I first started at speak meoving in a cricle and no one being able to help me and this whole theater every day the same for two weeks, I am turning now to the people here hoping I could find some answers
1) My provider in Switzerland is sunrise (BIS), so I went on to the website sunrise.blackberry.com and entered my existing accounts, 4 of them. Additionaly I registered a new blackberry email address to be able to use the true push service which is xx@sunrise.blackberry.com (xx being just a placeholder for my real name). The problem is though that I haven't been able to find out the mail settings I have to enter into my Mail Programm on my PC so I can access the emails on my computer. I dont know if it's a pop server, an IMAP server and not to speak of the mail settings of the server settings for incoming and outgoing email. Since it's actually a BlackBerry server I figured that the servers are BB managed (no one at Sunrise Switzerland even knew what BIS is or that you could receive PUSH mail with the Blackberry email).
2) I tried to register a new email address at https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html for a direct xx@blackberry.com email address thinking that maybe with this, it would easier to find infos about the settings. The problem here is that I have to enter my PIN (no problem) and ESN/MEID number. The Problem is that I haven't been able to find those numbers now mather how hard I tried; they are not even listed in options>status.
