BB Bold 9000 :: Set Memo As Home Screen?
Mar 3, 2010Basically I have just lost my job and have to keep a real close eye on money. So I am writing everything down as a memo on my BB.Is there a way to set this memo as a home screen so I am always concious of what I am spending? lol. When I had a Sony Erricson many moons ago you could set a memo as home screen and you could still see the picture I had set as the home screen but you could faintly see the text over the image if that makes sense?
I am hesitant to change one of the Shortcut Keys on the side to Memo Pad because I use them a lot for camera and calendar.
BB Bold 9000 :: Load Wrong Backup - How To Reverse
Feb 23, 2010My sister by mistaked load the wront backup on her Bold 9000. Now the phone took the PIN, BBM contacts, Phone contacts, theme, emails, everything and it look like a totally different phone with non of ther stuff except the things on the media card.How can I reverse this? I don't have a backup since it seems that I got replaced. Im on OS 5.0.0.411

Oct 25, 2011This is my third BlackBerry Bold 9000, and the first time I've had problems downloading the FB app. It says 'Sorry, your device does not meet the systems requirements that are needed to support FB.' I've tried resending service book and removing battery - which did nothing. My Bold is v 4.6.303, platform 4.0.0.248, application memory 61.0MB, Device memory 859.2MB (free space 823.6MB).

Sep 9, 2010I have a Blackberry Bold 9000 and was updating the latest application on it yesterday. Due to low battrey my laptop turned off before the sofware was properly installed. I have tried the following:
1) to take out the battrey and switch on the phone and tried to load the sofware again but that does not seem to work as the desktop software does not recognise my phone it says unknown device.
2) I have tried to use the update option in the website but that also does not seem to be working
The screen is showing the following message when turned on: Application permissions: The application saftey driving is attempting to access the phone information. I am unable to move the trackball to the appropiate option.

Mar 18, 2010I have bold 9000 kinda new to it.i was typing some notes in MEMO app on my bb and noticed that if i want to type numbers than i have to hit ALT + NUMBER all the time to get the numbers up on the screen wat if i am just typing number - its kinda pain to keep hitting alt everytime.is there a way to switch it to number mode ?

Plus they've got all the parts available already, just need a little engineering to fit the trackpad and everything else. C'mon RIM. We know you can do it. I'm sure you'd sell millions of them.

I need this for work and so I will be forking some dough out of my pocket to get one of the two following phones: Bold 9000 (I'll pay 100$ Canadian, not Us) Curve 8530 (pay 24.99$ Canadian). I am very used to the Iphone and HTC Touch Pro 2 (not trying to start a flaming/argument/anything else , its just what i'm used to). I am very used to browsing with the other phones and I have heard that BB phones are not up to par, so my expectations will be low. Out of the two phones however, does one perform better than the other (Curve 8530 vs Bold 9000)? Out of the two phones, which one do you recommend overall. I have read that the Bold 9000 even though it is older, it still outperforms the 8530...

Aug 30, 2010I dropped my BlackBerry Bold 9000 on the weekend and damaged the LCD screen. The device still works, but two thirds of the LCD is now white and there's what looks like an inkblot on the left side of the screen. I'd like to try to fix it, but don't really want to shell out a lot of $ to do so --- I'm a month away from upgrading.Does anyone have any suggestions, or perhaps a dead BlackBerry with a working screen that you're willing to part with? A DIY repair -- this is out of warranty anyway -- looks straightforward, but I'm not sure I want to spend the $100 or so for a new OEM part to replace the LCD screen.

I created a sample memo and cannot find it with the explorer on either the device memory or the sd card. I am wondering whether I can use this for business -- each client has a text file in their own folder, and each client has been assigned a category for task purposes -- the text files have my billing entries, contact information, and notes about the client. I want to make use of MemoPad, but need to better understand how this thing operates.

Now gmail, facebook, browser - none work. I've tried the battery pull, turning on/off the network, run a diagnostic test from mobile network options. In the mobile network test i get the volling anomolies "Blackberry PIN-PIN: No" and it says can't connect to my email (gmail).

Sep 18, 2010A few days ago I pulled my phone out of the holster and It was really hot and when i looked at it i realized it was off, and wouldnt turn back on. just a red light comes on like normal upon a battery pull but after it turns off the red light comes back on again once more then stays off for good. unless i plug it in then it comes on and goes off all the time. I got it powered back up yesterday but then it did it again. Today I plugged it in and I saw a picture of a battery come up on the screen showing it as empty, i was hoping that meant it might charge up. but no such luck. My main objective is just to get the phone up long enough to back up the info on the phone.

Mar 17, 2010I got the Bold 9700 from AT&T on Saturday and I have unlocked it and started using it on the Bell network as of yesterday. Before getting the Bell SIM card, I upgraded it to the latest OS from Bell (platform 5.1.0.116 ; app version: 5.0.0.423).I was taking notes on a memo, and I suddenly started getting an error saying "Memo updated externally. Changes will be lost and the viewer closed." I'm pretty used to saving on a regular basis, so I didn't lose too too much of my notes. It started saving OK for a while on the same note after it happened twice within about 5 attempted saves (so the 3 or so in between did work). At one point my memo got duplicated for some reason. I deleted it and was working with the one left. Eventually it started doing it every time I tried saving a note regardless as to whether or not I actually made any changes to it. Finally after not touching my BlackBerry for a while, the memo has disappeared. Not quite sure what's going on with my memos at this point. I haven't synced my BlackBerry with the computer at all today. I'm using BIS, and I have nothing that should be modifying my memos.
I am wondering if there is anything I can do or if I should downgrade back to AT&T's latest available OS version which is older than Bell's latest. I've found no one having these issues with memos, only with contacts and calendar entries. I've always used my BlackBerry for taking notes that are very important for me.
BB Bold 9000 :: Will Get A Longer Battery Life If Use Battery Of A 9700 In A 9000?
Feb 19, 2010I was just wondering. As it turns out that the 9700 and 9000 share the same type of battery, so how is it that the bold has a far superior battery life over the 9000? Some have reported that the 9700 can hold charge upto 2 days even after heavy usage. So i was wondering are the batteries really identical in every way as claimed? and if they arent is it possible to swap the battery of my 9000 and expect a longer battery life? coz the one im having right now only seem to hold charge for about 15hours with fair usage on a 5.0 OS Zain Kuwait.

May 3, 2012I am having trouble loading any web page in my Browser; I am connecting to WiFi, and have tried at home and the office (in both cases, other devices can get an internet connection fine)when I load the browser and a webpage (eg. url...) the blue progress bar appears at the bottom showing it is loading, but then gets stuck at the end, and just hangs.This just started happening a few days ago, previously it worked fine. I checked the other suggestion re. clearing the cache and changing the default browser, these did not help.I installed the Blackberry Messenger update a few weeks ago, and web browsing worked fine after this, so I dont believe this is the cause.

Jun 25, 2012When connecting to the internet I click on the second last icon on the main Bold screen (Telstra icon).After approximately 20 seconds, the blue "loading" bar at the bottom of the screen reaches 100% but remains sitting at "loading" with a blank white screen. There is no error message, and remains in this mode until I press the end / hang up key to return to the main screen.

Jan 24, 2012A couple weeks ago I updated my Bold 9700 to OS 6.0 Bundle 1964 - v6.0.0.461. So far, I love it except that my camera was at first quite flakey and now will not work at all. I'm geting black screen, or gives me the error 'could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening the camera again'. The video Camera does the same; loads with grey screen and errors with 'Cannot start video camera viewfinder'.
So Far I have:
-deleted all apps shown in BB App World (Wondering if another app was trying to use Camera)
-removed the battery to reboot multiple times
-Reseated my SD card - I can view SD card through phone for picture/music so it does work
-Re-installed OS6 through Desktop software (Update my device -> View other versions -> Install)
-Rolling back to 5.0.0.xxx
-Chang the camera in tech store.

Free Space 69.6 MB / internal 1.6 GB Media Card.
BB Bold :: 9700 Camera Will Not Load
Nov 27, 2011On my Bold 9700 the camera has worked perfectly since I bought it.Now however it will not load - just hangs with the icon going round and round.Have tried re-boot, complete software update to v. 6 - nothing changes.To me it sounds like a hardware failure (well out of guarantee period sadly) but I'm posting this just in case!!
