I finally decided to use my Bold 9000 back again (fyi the battery was in the phone the entire time for the duration that I didn't use it) but now, ever since I've been charging it, the red thing lights up but soon disappears when I connect it to my wall charger. I've made sure I removed the SIM and Memory Card but still nothing appears and it's been hours now but the Bold just won't switch on.

Since I switched phones from a 9000 to a 9700 I tried doing this through desktop manager. But everything got erased from the 9000 (contacts, everything!) and nothing got uploaded to my 9700. Is there any way I can find the lost info??? I am pretty sure i never did a back up from the 9000. I cant believe I lost all my contacts!!!
View 1 Replies View RelatedWent to an at&t store today and played with the 9800. I had been excited about it, but had never used a touch screen before. Wow, forgetting any issues that “may” exist with OS or the device itself which others have more than covered enough elsewhere in this forum, I was somewhat disappointed. As implied, it’s not the device or OS, but the use of a touch screen vs. my Bold 9000 that I love so much (and thus I’d probably have the same view with switching to any other touch screen device, BB or not). (However, the 9000 keyboard still IMHO exceeds all others including the 9800, which I found to be small, even for my small fingers).
But for those of you who have switched from similar devices to a touch screen, how was the experience? How long did it take to get fully used to a touch screen etc.? One thing I anticipate missing - believe it or not - is the ease of getting around on my Bold. Now I have PocketDay and have 2 short cuts assigned to every key. Not sure if I’ll have the same abilities on the 9800 etc.
I have bold 9000 kinda new to it.i was typing some notes in MEMO app on my bb and noticed that if i want to type numbers than i have to hit ALT + NUMBER all the time to get the numbers up on the screen wat if i am just typing number - its kinda pain to keep hitting alt everytime.is there a way to switch it to number mode ?

Plus they've got all the parts available already, just need a little engineering to fit the trackpad and everything else. C'mon RIM. We know you can do it. I'm sure you'd sell millions of them.

I need this for work and so I will be forking some dough out of my pocket to get one of the two following phones: Bold 9000 (I'll pay 100$ Canadian, not Us) Curve 8530 (pay 24.99$ Canadian). I am very used to the Iphone and HTC Touch Pro 2 (not trying to start a flaming/argument/anything else , its just what i'm used to). I am very used to browsing with the other phones and I have heard that BB phones are not up to par, so my expectations will be low. The device still works, but two thirds of the LCD is now white and there's what looks like an inkblot on the left side of the screen. I'd like to try to fix it, but don't really want to shell out a lot of $ to do so --- I'm a month away from upgrading.Does anyone have any suggestions, or perhaps a dead BlackBerry with a working screen that you're willing to part with? A DIY repair -- this is out of warranty anyway -- looks straightforward, but I'm not sure I want to spend the $100 or so for a new OEM part to replace the LCD screen.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a bold 9000 and I can not connect to the internet. Carrier is AT&T and I live in the North East (NYC area). Worked fine up until yesterday (Jan 25). Now gmail, facebook, browser - none work. I've tried the battery pull, turning on/off the network, run a diagnostic test from mobile network options. In the mobile network test i get the volling anomolies "Blackberry PIN-PIN: No" and it says can't connect to my email (gmail).
View 5 Replies View RelatedA few days ago I pulled my phone out of the holster and It was really hot and when i looked at it i realized it was off, and wouldnt turn back on. just a red light comes on like normal upon a battery pull but after it turns off the red light comes back on again once more then stays off for good. unless i plug it in then it comes on and goes off all the time. I got it powered back up yesterday but then it did it again. Today I plugged it in and I saw a picture of a battery come up on the screen showing it as empty, i was hoping that meant it might charge up. but no such luck. My main objective is just to get the phone up long enough to back up the info on the phone.

I was just wondering. As it turns out that the 9700 and 9000 share the same type of battery, so how is it that the bold has a far superior battery life over the 9000? Some have reported that the 9700 can hold charge upto 2 days even after heavy usage. So i was wondering are the batteries really identical in every way as claimed? and if they arent is it possible to swap the battery of my 9000 and expect a longer battery life? coz the one im having right now only seem to hold charge for about 15hours with fair usage on a 5.0 OS Zain Kuwait.

Only complaint is even with minimal apps I still get the clock quite a few times during the day and its just slow even after wiping and restoring data. Don't get me wrong I love my blackberry keyboard, and the messages folder has nothing like it.
I want others opinion though. What would make you want to sign a 3 year contract with a Blackberry of today. Either current, or upcoming.

I use it quite a lot and while I write an email or on BBM it just dies completely and then I have to restart it by battery pull. It's not doing it all the time, every 5 minutes. So the batteries are new, the device has the latest update and I don't know what to do. I badly need the phone and have no time to take it to the repairs and all that?

Phone switches off by itself, the red LED light flashes once and goes off completely and then the phone reboots. It does this randomly whenever I use it. Its started when I went on Facebook. I hardly ever go on Facebook. I've had the phone for 8 months and its never done this before.
I had a problem with the BB protect automatic back up but that seems to have been resolved after the OS upgrade.
I have had a Bold 9900 for a little over a week now, whilst the battery is not that great on it (even with auto power off turned on and screen brightness right down) my major issue seems to be with the it switching off and rebooting randomly. Some days it will go the whole day without doing it, others it will do it three or four times during the day, sometimes during a call, sometime when it is just sat in my pocket.

I changed my contract from an iPhone 3GS to an iPhone 4 in may 2011. Since then my USB does not work properly and the earphones, well one ear works and the other doesn't. I then went online to check if I could get a replacement for both which I am still not sure that accessories are covered under tha warranty. Then I put my serial number and it said that my phone was out of coverage which doesn't make sense as I got the phone in may 2011 and it's only April 2012.Not a year yet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 9700 Bold with ATT and the OS is v5.0.0.405. Alright so a couple of weeks ago my blackberry has started developing an annoying problem. When in a call, most of the time (not all) it starts switching between the headset icon and the normal speaker. When this happens, you can hear the phone switch between the two through the speaker, and it makes it so i cant hear anyone and they cant hear me. I'm out of my 30 day warranty from ATT but i think im still well within the RIM warranty. I have admittidly dropped it, but this still shouldnt be happening. Nothing like this has happened to any other phone I have owned. Is there anything i can do to get some sort of replacement?
