i have a Bold 9900 and i bought it second hand. used it for two weeks and the phone started misbehaving. if im not playing music on it, or connect it to the laptop or not charging it, it goes off in a split second. i have tried reloading the OS and wiping it all with BBSAK app for another reloading. but this hasnt helped, could the problem be with the software?

Phone switches off by itself, the red LED light flashes once and goes off completely and then the phone reboots. It does this randomly whenever I use it. Its started when I went on Facebook. I hardly ever go on Facebook. I've had the phone for 8 months and its never done this before.
I had a problem with the BB protect automatic back up but that seems to have been resolved after the OS upgrade.
I have had a Bold 9900 for a little over a week now, whilst the battery is not that great on it (even with auto power off turned on and screen brightness right down) my major issue seems to be with the it switching off and rebooting randomly. Some days it will go the whole day without doing it, others it will do it three or four times during the day, sometimes during a call, sometime when it is just sat in my pocket.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI finally decided to use my Bold 9000 back again (fyi the battery was in the phone the entire time for the duration that I didn't use it) but now, ever since I've been charging it, the red thing lights up but soon disappears when I connect it to my wall charger. I've made sure I removed the SIM and Memory Card but still nothing appears and it's been hours now but the Bold just won't switch on.

I use it quite a lot and while I write an email or on BBM it just dies completely and then I have to restart it by battery pull. It's not doing it all the time, every 5 minutes. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 9700 Bold with ATT and the OS is v5.0.0.405. Alright so a couple of weeks ago my blackberry has started developing an annoying problem. When in a call, most of the time (not all) it starts switching between the headset icon and the normal speaker. When this happens, you can hear the phone switch between the two through the speaker, and it makes it so i cant hear anyone and they cant hear me. I'm out of my 30 day warranty from ATT but i think im still well within the RIM warranty. I have admittidly dropped it, but this still shouldnt be happening. Nothing like this has happened to any other phone I have owned. Is there anything i can do to get some sort of replacement?
View 10 Replies View RelatedThis just started two days ago. (the day after the 1 yr warranty expired grrr. Happens on phone calls and video. You only catch about 1 word out of six. Makes phone calls impossible. No, there are no headphones connected to the device. Discovered if I do, then at least I can hear what people are saying because it stops flipping back and forth between headphone and speaker function. Remove the headphones and away it goes again. Keeps doing it for about a minute after the call ends with an audible click each time it switches to speaker mode for a fraction of a second.

Is anyone else having problems with dropped calls when switching from UMA to 3G? Where I work I do not have a signal in the building, so I keep my WIFI on so I can both make and receive phone calls while inside.
The problem occurs when I'm on the phone and step outside. I lose my connection with the router, and instead of switching from UMA to 3G, my call is dropped, and it takes my phone about 10 seconds to find the 3G signal.I was hopping that upgrading the .442 would solve the problem, but it has not
My Bold 9700 all of a sudden started rapidly switching from handset to headset which makes it impossible to make or receive a call since you can't hear. You can hear it doing the same thing even when you're typing in a phone number....is there a fix? I have tried battery pulls etc....

When I get to the Device Selection Screen at the bottom it says "The device does not have enough space for your selections. Select fewer applications." The only things selected are default things. I've tried deselecting everything possible and I still get this message.

I obtained the unlock code from Vodafone but the user managed to put the MEP code in wrong too many times and now I get a message: "Enter Network MEP code (0 left)"I've tried resetting factory defaults as per Vodafone advice and updated to latest OS but still get the same message. It worked really well until I pulled the headphone jack out and now when I make a phone call, the phone switches from headset to handset over and over again. View 10 Replies View RelatedWent to an at&t store today and played with the 9800. I had been excited about it, but had never used a touch screen before. Wow, forgetting any issues that “may” exist with OS or the device itself which others have more than covered enough elsewhere in this forum, I was somewhat disappointed. As implied, it’s not the device or OS, but the use of a touch screen vs. my Bold 9000 that I love so much (and thus I’d probably have the same view with switching to any other touch screen device, BB or not). (However, the 9000 keyboard still IMHO exceeds all others including the 9800, which I found to be small, even for my small fingers).
But for those of you who have switched from similar devices to a touch screen, how was the experience? How long did it take to get fully used to a touch screen etc.? One thing I anticipate missing - believe it or not - is the ease of getting around on my Bold. Now I have PocketDay and have 2 short cuts assigned to every key. Not sure if I’ll have the same abilities on the 9800 etc.
I have 3 mail accounts connected to my bb. Originally all posted to one folder messages folder in the message 'center' where all the sms etc go into (middle of the screen icon at the top) i am not sure what has started to happen but suddenly i then had 2 messages folders and now i have 3. They all go to the same place and sometimes contain the same message which just appears in all 3.
I think this started when i started configuring the sync of the deletion of the folders "folder reconciliation". how i can delete these additional folders as they are just a nuicense they mean very little as mail is randomly flowing into them.
I had recently downloaded and installed the new os 7.1.0.267 os from SK Telecom form the software download page of on blackberry site to my bold 9900. Upon doing that i was able to access the new mobile hot spot feature and even set it up for use after calling my service provider for the APN which is Lime Jamaica. I even tested it by using another phone which detected it. However sometime afterwards about 30 minutes to an hour later while listening to music my headset got pull out by mistake and upon putting it back in realized music wouldn't start playing back after pressing the side button. Unlocked the phone only to see the play icon highlighted in music player but nothing wouldn't register when clicked with trackpad or touch screen. plus got a message on the screen saying that device media player was busy, which continued for a while. Did a battery pull afterwards which fixed the problem. However a few hours later when i decided to show a friend the new feature and test it by connecting his phone, upon accessing the connections menu the mobile hot spot option was missing even in networks and connections. essentially it disappeared form the phone the only apps on the phone besides the default ones was wikitude and whatsapps. Even after a factory reset it didn't return. Did a clean wipe of the os and installed the os again upon which the hot spot option returned only to disappear again after about a few minutes at which time no extra apps was insatlled just the default ones. Have no idea whats causing this and whats worse the 7.1.0.267 download has been removed from the Sk Telecom link.
