When writing your question Occasionally the phone's screen will turn white. What I've noticed as that it typically happens after the phone shuts itself off. I don't know how it turns off, and it doesn't happen often, but occasionally I'll pull my phone out of my pocket and find that it's completely off. When I turn it back on it will boot all the way to the home screen without issues and then the screen will fade to white and stay that way. Pulling the battery does not fix the issue. All it does is kill the battery more than having the screen being all white and full power. Most recently it happened while I was navigating the Store in the Amazon Kindle program. Looking around I've seen conversations stating that the screen's going bad (which I doubt), the OS needs to be reinstalled (which I attempted through the Desktop Manager and I think I did it how I'm supposed to without wiping it with a 3rd party program), or that the phone is defective. My dad got the phone in November of 2008, and I got it when he decided to get an iPhone. I'm definitely a BlackBerry noob, so any suggestions (or requests for more information), would be appreciated. I've have noticed that reloading the OS stops the problem for about a week or so.I noticed recently is that the battery life seemed to be draining faster than I thought reasonable. For instance, on 50% (or so) charge, the phone would die after being in a call for about 45 minutes. So I ordered a new battery. Today, the phone got extremely warm (in the holster) and the battery drained to the yellow bar in about 3 hours. No programs that connect to the network (Twitter, Web Browser, Opera, Kindle, etc.) were running and I was not noticing the up/down arrows. This was on a full charge. When I plugged it into the wall, the battery seemed to charge extremely fast. It's only been charging for about an hour or so and it's nearly at full charge. This is not typical. I am out of warranty, have no insurance, and am not able to get a discount price on a new phone until July. I'm ready to downgrade to my old dumbphone.
This problem just started this week- it has happened 3 or 4 times a day, but today it has happened a lot more including in the middle of a call ?? I have tried taking the battery out & leaving it 5 mins any other

Did a battery pull fix your issue? NO
Phone switches off by itself, the red LED light flashes once and goes off completely and then the phone reboots. It does this randomly whenever I use it. Its started when I went on Facebook. I hardly ever go on Facebook. I've had the phone for 8 months and its never done this before.
I had a problem with the BB protect automatic back up but that seems to have been resolved after the OS upgrade.
I have had a Bold 9900 for a little over a week now, whilst the battery is not that great on it (even with auto power off turned on and screen brightness right down) my major issue seems to be with the it switching off and rebooting randomly. Some days it will go the whole day without doing it, others it will do it three or four times during the day, sometimes during a call, sometime when it is just sat in my pocket.

View 5 Replies View Relatedi got this issue with my iphone since yesterday. It woked me up as usual and i noticed that it was realy warm but haven't thought much about it...was too early So i go to work as usual...then i noticed that the battery drains realy fast (like 1-2% in a minute of usage) and getting very warm on the back right beneath the rear camera (same spot is getting hot while charging). I also noticed that the auto-focus of the rear cam isn't working (also manual focus doesn't work).
I upgraded to IOS 5.1 and also reset it to factory defaults and also generate a new profile for it so no old settings are used. But the problem sill persists :/ As long as it is in standby everything is alright if i use it (even browse through tabs) it starts draining and getting warm

I thaught it might be an app I downloaded so uninstalled all new apps. Still getting warm and bad battery performance. So I done a full factory reset and still getting the issue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLike the title says I have the white battery red x 50% of the time on a battery pull. And the only way to fix is a finger flick against the volumn side of the phone, it is dumb but works. But I would like to not do this anymore. Any thoughts would be good. I am running 7.1 with virgin mobile in canada.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using bb9900 for over a month. Like everyone, I am having a problem with the battery of bb9900. 3 day ago, I have up the leak 440 but did not improve the problem of pin. After 6 hours in standby mode my battery from 99% down to 87%. Is that really not normal?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI upgraded from my old faithful Bold 9700 to a 9360 and found its battery life to be very poor, I updated the firmware which helped a bit but it was still poor so I then upgraded to the 9900 and it is even worse. I can lose 20-30% of my battery in under an hour with little use. I et a maximum of about 4 hours out with moderate use.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a new 9900, and the battery lasts less that 12 hours, even with minimal use. I loaded all the latest updated, only have Wifi turned on, and one weather app., no downloads. Sunday I was a home and only opened it the phone 5-6 times, did not make a single phone call, and received only 5-6 e-mail. It was still drained after 12 hours. This is the 3rd BB I have had in 7 years and the first with this problem, use my last blakc berry over 3000 minutes a month and receive 50+ mails a day, and the battery lasted a day or two no problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9900 which I just bought 3 months ago. It has been fine over the last 2 months however the last month its been giving a lot of problems. While I was using it the screen went black and I tried to restart it (power back on and taking out the battery and sticking it back it) but the red led light would come on and it would not power up. After sticking it on the charger the red light would come on for 1 minute, then the battery sign would show saying that it is charging but after 1 minute, it would show a red X mark on the battery symbol and it would not power on. I have gone through this process 2 times (I have bought 2 JM1 batteries for the device from blackberry) however it still gives the same problem. I sent it to a phone repair shop and they gave it a try. They say that the batteries are fine, but the blackberry is not able to hold in the charge and has a problem with charging it.
