I have a new 9900, and the battery lasts less that 12 hours, even with minimal use. I loaded all the latest updated, only have Wifi turned on, and one weather app., no downloads. Sunday I was a home and only opened it the phone 5-6 times, did not make a single phone call, and received only 5-6 e-mail. It was still drained after 12 hours. This is the 3rd BB I have had in 7 years and the first with this problem, use my last blakc berry over 3000 minutes a month and receive 50+ mails a day, and the battery lasted a day or two no problem.
Lately my battery drains within 6 hours after full recharge. The drain continues even when the phone is off. I tried switching off my apps not in use and it did not help.My phone is only 8 months old and am frustrated by the unreliability of the phone as I planned to keep it for at least 2 years. Is there a way of fixing this without replacing the battery?
I switch from I phone 4 to black Berry 9900 .. it cost me $ 720 USD.. the reason is I phone battery last for one full day,
but the problem now, black berry 9900 battery doesn't last for 8 hours .. even though i don't use ( Internet browsing) - ( Blutooth ) - ( wifi) and the screen brightness is 10 only ...
I upgraded from my old faithful Bold 9700 to a 9360 and found its battery life to be very poor, I updated the firmware which helped a bit but it was still poor so I then upgraded to the 9900 and it is even worse. I can lose 20-30% of my battery in under an hour with little use. I et a maximum of about 4 hours out with moderate use.
A couple of days ago I bought the new Blackberry Bold 9900. But I couldn't get the answer of three questions: - How/where can I turn off GPS and WiFi? (I can get to the options of the connections but there isn't an option where I can turn it off) - Is it better for the battery life to use the vibrating notifications or the audible notifications? - How long should my BB be able to function with a fully fulled battery?
I've just had my blackberry 9900 for a week and the battery life is terrible. I have gps (Location), bluetooth, wifi all turned off. I have the brightness at its lowest, and I close all the apps. I even logged off facebook and twitter. What else do I have to do? to save battery.
I have a problem regarding the battery life on the Torch 9810. I have switched off everything I could but still no extension on the battery life. Maximum I get out of it is 6 hours. If I make a call I have to keep it on the charger to prevent it from cutting out in the conversation. What do I do now?
I bought brand new X10i . then make full charge before use. I just to test see how long battery . In first day, I use only 5min calling. Then put aside, battery down 50% Second day (whole night charging) , I don't do any thing. Only call for 5min In the afternoon, battery 0%. How could they say 5h talk time ? And 140h stanby?
battery runs down so fast when you use the phone, whether it's texting or on a call. Also when sends texts it shows up on my phone with like a 15 digit number instead of Name or his Cell #. tried texting other ppl and the same thing happened.
I recently updated to 7.0 bundle 2395 but the battery life seems worsen it droped like 40% in just 3 or 4 hours but it just in the standby mode and I did't use it at all so is there a problem with my battery?
The battery of my iPhone 4S started to discharge more quickly after I downloaded iOS 5.1, but before it was OK. My location services, notifications, push and wifi are all off, but even if I don't use my phone, the battery life is shorter than it was before.
Last night I unplugged my phone when I left work @5:30 with a full charge. I sent two SMS messages, was on the web for less than 5 minutes, turned wifi off and Sync off, had screen at dimmest setting. Phone still dies by 6AM with a brand new OEM battery. Should this be expected?
My Bold 9900 battery life has significantly worsened after the recent OS 7.0 Bundle 2406 upgrade. I had previously struggled to get through the day on one battery charge, but I typically could make it for a day with general business email use, limited calls and no internet browsing. Now after the recent 2406 upgrade, I only get about 50% as much battery life. Additionally, the small centre black box with the rotating white second hand is now a regularly occurring feature throughout the day, and I have had to pull my battery out to reboot my BlackBerry much more often. I have since stripped out all the apps, cut back on all other battery draining features (screen brightness, wifi, Bluetooth, gps, etc), and moved to 2G to extend my battery life. I was already unhappy with the poor BlackBerry Bold 9900 battery life, but after this latest upgrade, it's now unacceptable for business use when it only works for 1/2 a day. Hopefully this is a recognized RIM battery life issue for the Bold 9900 that's being quickly addressed.
The phone has been dropped accidentally (from no great height and everything appeared to working fine) but now I've noticed the battery life will barely last 4 hours. Initially I put this problem down to the battery itself but after buying a brand new battery the same thing has started.
The battery will suddenly jump from half full on the indicator to empty, it'll then beep a few times over 5 minutes and then it'll be dead. On average I'm not having to charge the phone three times a day to use it.
I've had my e5-00 for about a year now and I could always get around 3 - 4 days of use out of it without charging. Now, after upgrading to 081.004, the battery doesn't even last for a day. I have to charge it approx. every 20 hours and that's without calling, texting, browsing or using the phone at all really. Wifi and bluetooth are turned off and I didn't change any other settings.
Just got a 9320 3g and it sucks the battery life is pathetic and it continually heats up even when not in use. I have searched everywhere and there seems to be no solution, also there are 100's of users reporting the same issues but blackberry seems to dodge the subject and offer pre designed answers. Surely you can admit if there is a manufacturing issue and offer a proper solution instead of dodging the issue. Deeply dissapointed with this phone, and yes its on the latest os all apps are closed etc etc etc. stop tellling us this resolves the issue AND OWN UP TO THIS **bleep** YOU PRODUCED. Looking forward to a resolution else its off to every website i can find to log complaints and the istore
I have a Sony Xperia Ray that recently starting draining the battery very quickly. I used to get around 36hours use out of it before charging but in the last week I been only able to get 3 - 4 hours max before it is completely drained. I purchased another battery and upgraded the Android OS to the lastest version but am still experiencing the same behaviour (short battery life).
after upgrading my Defy to 2.2.2 it runs 24h at most on its battery. It ran at least 2 days before the update. Now it usually runs out of battery after work. By then it was last charged 11-12 hours ago.I installed the OS Monitor from the market to check what is eating up my battery. Turns out that the "init" process starts eating up all free CPU resources after a while. The phones runs smoothly for about an hour or two after turning on. But as soon as the init process starts using the entire CPU, battery goes down very quickly.I did not install any new apps after the update besides the OS Monitor. So the apps have not changed. Still the battey dies very quickly. What can I do to get my phone back to its old charge cycle?
Just got my Curve 2 last Thursday, and was liking it, but now I am having some issues with it... wondering if you guys can help me.
1: The battery life it bad! I took it off the charger today at about 9:00, and have used some texting, about 20 minutes of Pandora, and a little bit of internet browsing, and now my battery is at 75%... I like in a coverage area with 5 bars (more on next one), and I am not using wifi very much, with screen at 10%, 10 seconds off, and auto dim, so I don't know what it is... 2: As above, I have 5 bars in my house, but when I hold the phone it will go down to two or one, sometimes zero, switch to no service, and not get good signal until I set it down and leave it there for a couple seconds. Very annoying, because it makes it hard to load web pages sometimes. I would use wifi but it is slower and less reliable than Sprint's network for some reason. If someone could help me with these problems, or at least suggest some things, that would be great!
Just recently acquired a BB 9900, it is a Rogers branded phone but its used with Koodo. the issue I'm having is this phones battery life is just terrible, its so bad that it pretty much depletes itself without the phone even being used. Fully charged at 100% will drop down to ~70% within hours of no usage. No calls nothing. I believe the way the battery is that I couldn't even go a day with bare usage on 1 charge.I have tried a battery pull, also turned off the Location thing - figured maybe the GPS is constantly tracking it? Brightness is set to 40, screen timeout at 10seconds.I ran software updates on the phone until nothing was reported anymore, the version on it now is 7.1 bundle 1310 (v7.1.0.391 platform 5.1.0.319).There is no software running in the background I checked the Application thing and nothing is loaded up in the background.Another issue I am having is that I set the time zone up and everything the time reports fine. Then hours later I check my phone and the clock changed to report 1 hour back so if its supposed to be actually 3pm, it would report 2pm. And all the settings on the phone are actually accurate for my time zone/location.
I’ve got a BlackBerry Curve 8900 (ATT, running 4.2.0.108), and have had it since Oct. 2009. Battery life has always been OK - 24 to 48 hrs. between recharges.
Today though, after pulling it off the charger this morning around 8:00 a.m., I’ve noticed that I’m down to about 5% charge by 2:30 p.m. I have made no phone calls today, and have only sent/received a couple texts and rec’d two emails. I've never used a holster, have downloaded no apps, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are both off. No keys appear to be sticking. Absolutely nothing, to my knowledge, of any significance has changed on the phone since October, yet all of a sudden --literally, overnight --I am experiencing this greatly diminished battery life. The only even remotely precipitating factor I can think of is that I did a battery pull yesterday, after deleting some old photos and emails.
I’ve searched the forum, and most of the suggestions are along the lines of “turn off bluetooth/wi-fi/update OS,” but as noted, I never used those anyhow, and the OS has always been good to me.
My Blackberry Bold 9900 is not turning on.Details: A battery pull has not fixed my problem.I tried using another 9900 battery, however it did not work.My battery does not work on other 9900 devices. There are no signs of moisture, nor has there been contact with water. The LED light doesn't show, nor does anything on the screen.
