BB Bold :: 9900 Battery Life On OS 7.0 Bundle 2395?
Feb 6, 2012
I recently updated to 7.0 bundle 2395 but the battery life seems worsen it droped like 40% in just 3 or 4 hours but it just in the standby mode and I did't use it at all so is there a problem with my battery?
Dear Gurus I have very big problem with my BB 9900 current version 7.0 Bundle 2395 (v7.0.0.579, Platform 5.0.0.735) UAE Du/Etisalat Carrier, i canot update to )S 7.1 there is no available update in desktop manager also downloaded firmware from carrier install manually used jl comander , crackutil, load tru aploader remove vendor all hidden files same issue. why there is no available 7.1update for my BB..
I switch from I phone 4 to black Berry 9900 .. it cost me $ 720 USD.. the reason is I phone battery last for one full day,
but the problem now, black berry 9900 battery doesn't last for 8 hours .. even though i don't use ( Internet browsing) - ( Blutooth ) - ( wifi) and the screen brightness is 10 only ...
I upgraded from my old faithful Bold 9700 to a 9360 and found its battery life to be very poor, I updated the firmware which helped a bit but it was still poor so I then upgraded to the 9900 and it is even worse. I can lose 20-30% of my battery in under an hour with little use. I et a maximum of about 4 hours out with moderate use.
I have a new 9900, and the battery lasts less that 12 hours, even with minimal use. I loaded all the latest updated, only have Wifi turned on, and one weather app., no downloads. Sunday I was a home and only opened it the phone 5-6 times, did not make a single phone call, and received only 5-6 e-mail. It was still drained after 12 hours. This is the 3rd BB I have had in 7 years and the first with this problem, use my last blakc berry over 3000 minutes a month and receive 50+ mails a day, and the battery lasted a day or two no problem.
A couple of days ago I bought the new Blackberry Bold 9900. But I couldn't get the answer of three questions: - How/where can I turn off GPS and WiFi? (I can get to the options of the connections but there isn't an option where I can turn it off) - Is it better for the battery life to use the vibrating notifications or the audible notifications? - How long should my BB be able to function with a fully fulled battery?
I've just had my blackberry 9900 for a week and the battery life is terrible. I have gps (Location), bluetooth, wifi all turned off. I have the brightness at its lowest, and I close all the apps. I even logged off facebook and twitter. What else do I have to do? to save battery.
My Bold 9900 battery life has significantly worsened after the recent OS 7.0 Bundle 2406 upgrade. I had previously struggled to get through the day on one battery charge, but I typically could make it for a day with general business email use, limited calls and no internet browsing. Now after the recent 2406 upgrade, I only get about 50% as much battery life. Additionally, the small centre black box with the rotating white second hand is now a regularly occurring feature throughout the day, and I have had to pull my battery out to reboot my BlackBerry much more often. I have since stripped out all the apps, cut back on all other battery draining features (screen brightness, wifi, Bluetooth, gps, etc), and moved to 2G to extend my battery life. I was already unhappy with the poor BlackBerry Bold 9900 battery life, but after this latest upgrade, it's now unacceptable for business use when it only works for 1/2 a day. Hopefully this is a recognized RIM battery life issue for the Bold 9900 that's being quickly addressed.
I get following error message whenever I try to update software of my device the application "help" cannot be loaded, because it requires following applications that are not available:net.rim.java.browser?
I just updated my 9900 to bundle 1672 from 14xx which came factory installed using the desktop manager. This resulted in the loss of ALL third party apps and some BB apps! Of course, as recommended I did a backup before the update and the desktop manager restored from the backup. Despite this, none of my apps followed.
Lost App World and the compass app. The compass app I can't find again. App World was an easy fix through BB's website. Once I got App World I could download all the apps I have bought from My World. However, some of them require registration (haven't heard back from these companies yet) and I lost all my entries and settings in these apps!
I lost all third party apps that came pre-installed that I haven't downloaded from App World, like Wikitude, Facebook, Google Talk, MSN, and so on.Has this happened to anyone else? Why did this happen? Shouldn't backups also back up all the apps? What went wrong??
Just recently acquired a BB 9900, it is a Rogers branded phone but its used with Koodo. the issue I'm having is this phones battery life is just terrible, its so bad that it pretty much depletes itself without the phone even being used. Fully charged at 100% will drop down to ~70% within hours of no usage. No calls nothing. I believe the way the battery is that I couldn't even go a day with bare usage on 1 charge.I have tried a battery pull, also turned off the Location thing - figured maybe the GPS is constantly tracking it? Brightness is set to 40, screen timeout at 10seconds.I ran software updates on the phone until nothing was reported anymore, the version on it now is 7.1 bundle 1310 (v7.1.0.391 platform 5.1.0.319).There is no software running in the background I checked the Application thing and nothing is loaded up in the background.Another issue I am having is that I set the time zone up and everything the time reports fine. Then hours later I check my phone and the clock changed to report 1 hour back so if its supposed to be actually 3pm, it would report 2pm. And all the settings on the phone are actually accurate for my time zone/location.
I've upgraded my BB Bold 9900 software to 7.1.0 bundle 1310. Before that my battery lasted for 2 days with moderate use. Now it drains completely in 8 hours, whether the BB turned on or off! Maybe even how I can roll back the upgrade?
I’ve got a BlackBerry Curve 8900 (ATT, running 4.2.0.108), and have had it since Oct. 2009. Battery life has always been OK - 24 to 48 hrs. between recharges.
Today though, after pulling it off the charger this morning around 8:00 a.m., I’ve noticed that I’m down to about 5% charge by 2:30 p.m. I have made no phone calls today, and have only sent/received a couple texts and rec’d two emails. I've never used a holster, have downloaded no apps, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are both off. No keys appear to be sticking. Absolutely nothing, to my knowledge, of any significance has changed on the phone since October, yet all of a sudden --literally, overnight --I am experiencing this greatly diminished battery life. The only even remotely precipitating factor I can think of is that I did a battery pull yesterday, after deleting some old photos and emails.
I’ve searched the forum, and most of the suggestions are along the lines of “turn off bluetooth/wi-fi/update OS,” but as noted, I never used those anyhow, and the OS has always been good to me.
My Blackberry Bold 9900 is not turning on.Details: A battery pull has not fixed my problem.I tried using another 9900 battery, however it did not work.My battery does not work on other 9900 devices. There are no signs of moisture, nor has there been contact with water. The LED light doesn't show, nor does anything on the screen.
My daughter has a BB bold 9780 [5 months old] battery life from fully charged is 2-3 hrs on standby, with no usage. Have already carried out 'master reset' no different!
Aside from the obvious route of getting a larger battery, does anyone have tips for maximizing their battery life? So far the ones I have seen include turning off wifi when it's not needed and making sure all apps are closed when finished with them. Has anyone found any good ones?
I just got this used blackberry bold 9780. At about battery level 30-50%, the battery level will plunge to 1% within minutes. And it will stay at 1% for the rest of the day. Today, the battery indicator was working fine till the battery was about 30%, then the phone just died.
I upgraded to version 6 a few days ago. Immediately the battery life has reduced from a couple of days to a few hours. I switched off GPS, reduced backlight to 80%, and made sure no applications were running. No difference. I have bought a new battery and charged it overnight. Still no difference.
Lately my battery drains within 6 hours after full recharge. The drain continues even when the phone is off. I tried switching off my apps not in use and it did not help.My phone is only 8 months old and am frustrated by the unreliability of the phone as I planned to keep it for at least 2 years. Is there a way of fixing this without replacing the battery?
I'm a pretty avid user, bbm, email, broswer, etc, etc & when I first got the 9700 it was amazing the length of battery life between charges, sometimes 2 or 3 full days before needing a charge. But now as just under 2 months have passed, I'm finding myself having to charge usually every other day.
Ok, so you know how its recommended to completley drain your battery about once a month for calibration...Could you suggst somethings that will drain my bb`s battery very fast? i had no real trouble on my 8900, but the 9700 battery life is soo resistant a very good thing, but do any of you have any suggestions?
I am suddenly experiencing vastly reduced battery life on my Bold 9650. It sounded the low battery alert in the middle of the afternoon on Friday and at around 8:30 p.m. today. The phone was off all day Saturday and was plugged into the charger from Friday night until the middle of this afternoon. This makes no sense to me, because I barely used the phone Friday or today, and as recently as last week, it was showing a good charge when I'd plug it in at 11 p.m. after a fair amount of usage through the day. Even on days of heavy usage, I've been making it until bedtime without the low battery alert. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to track this down without buying a new battery?
One difference in the last few days is that I have been home (some kind of human virus) all day, but I live a block from the cell tower, and my wifi signal reaches throughout the house pretty well. I thought that Friday's problem might have been interference from a wifi tablet, but I have scrupulously kept them apart today. Bluetooth is on, but that's normally the case. The battery is relatvely new, bought within the last six months from a vendor on Amazon. It appeared to be identical to the factory-installed battery, which lasted about a year-and-a-half.
Background apps that have been running on both days have been Blackberry Messenger, Facebook, Password Manager, BHive Tasks, Google Maps, Google Search, and Evernote (which says it last synched on Nov. 27th). Nothing unusual.
Phone: Blackberry Bold 9650 Carrier: Verizon OS version: 6.0 Bundle 3084 (v6.0.0.719, Platform 4.4.0.560) No Enterprise service
Have my BB 9700 just for about 2 months now, when i got it i notice there was an issue with the battery life but now it is only lasting about 4 hours on light use, just have bb groups and a few calls and phone goes off.
I have just upgraded my phone to the 9900 bold, I wish I could disable the touch screen or have an auto locking facility? I cant find it. Also the battery life is only about 50% of my 9600 - not what I expected given that Blackberry are reknown for the battery life
I was just wondering. As it turns out that the 9700 and 9000 share the same type of battery, so how is it that the bold has a far superior battery life over the 9000? Some have reported that the 9700 can hold charge upto 2 days even after heavy usage. So i was wondering are the batteries really identical in every way as claimed? and if they arent is it possible to swap the battery of my 9000 and expect a longer battery life? coz the one im having right now only seem to hold charge for about 15hours with fair usage on a 5.0 OS Zain Kuwait.
I have been using 9700 since Early Jan 2010 without any issues but since last 2 weeks the battery is just finishing in 6-10 hours . I have checked all applications/ maps and ensured that they are shut. Is this a battery problem ....

When writing your question Occasionally the phone's screen will turn white. What I've noticed as that it typically happens after the phone shuts itself off. I don't know how it turns off, and it doesn't happen often, but occasionally I'll pull my phone out of my pocket and find that it's completely off. When I turn it back on it will boot all the way to the home screen without issues and then the screen will fade to white and stay that way. Pulling the battery does not fix the issue. All it does is kill the battery more than having the screen being all white and full power. Most recently it happened while I was navigating the Store in the Amazon Kindle program. Looking around I've seen conversations stating that the screen's going bad (which I doubt), the OS needs to be reinstalled (which I attempted through the Desktop Manager and I think I did it how I'm supposed to without wiping it with a 3rd party program), or that the phone is defective. My dad got the phone in November of 2008, and I got it when he decided to get an iPhone. I'm definitely a BlackBerry noob, so any suggestions (or requests for more information), would be appreciated. I've have noticed that reloading the OS stops the problem for about a week or so.I noticed recently is that the battery life seemed to be draining faster than I thought reasonable. For instance, on 50% (or so) charge, the phone would die after being in a call for about 45 minutes. So I ordered a new battery. Today, the phone got extremely warm (in the holster) and the battery drained to the yellow bar in about 3 hours. No programs that connect to the network (Twitter, Web Browser, Opera, Kindle, etc.) were running and I was not noticing the up/down arrows. This was on a full charge. When I plugged it into the wall, the battery seemed to charge extremely fast. It's only been charging for about an hour or so and it's nearly at full charge. This is not typical. I am out of warranty, have no insurance, and am not able to get a discount price on a new phone until July. I'm ready to downgrade to my old dumbphone.
