I have put about 4gb of songs onto my sd card which i put in my phone. But for some reason it decides to not play certain songs and i get a notification at the bottom of the screen saying "unable to play audio file". I have tried the songs on another sd card have to same problem? They are genuine sd cards not no budget fake ones. Is there anything i can do to get the songs to work. There all MP3.

I have a new HTC one M8 and a 64gb sd card. Last week my phone deleted an album that was playing fine. Put the songs back on the phone, played for a couple of days and now says that won't play - "unable to play this type of audio file".
View 2 Replies View RelatedUsing the stock File Manager app I can see audio files on my Maxx HD's internal storage and also on the SD card. I happen to be looking at ringtone files. If I tap on the filename to play the ringtone, Amazon Cloudplayer pops up and shows all the music files on my SD card. No ringtones can be found. If I back out of Amazon Cloudplayer and use the file manager to try finding and playing ANY audio file on EITHER my SD card or the internal storage I get sent to Amazon Cloudplayer. I then have to use the back button to get back to the file manager icon in the App drawer. Same thing happens if I try to play audio files on my SD card. Amazon Cloud Player pops up. I don't want to use Amazon Cloud Player to play an audio file in SD storage.
If I connect my phone to my PC and navigate to the ringtones on internal storage and click on them they play as per usual (Windows media player). If I use my PC to play audio files on the SD card they play as usual.Why does my phone default to Amazon Cloud Player when I tap on an audio file in File Manager? What is the stock audio file player on the Maxx HD? Why can't I browse to an audio file with the file manager and tap on it and have it play? How do I fix this?
I have tried for a long time to access the below streaming audio and always get a message saying"The protocol specified is not supported by the handheld. Pleas try a different URL" I have called tech support and was told to download the Window Media Player. This is not a windows phone.

View 13 Replies View RelatedOne problem I am having is that I will occasionally get an error message when trying to play a media file that I know the phone supports that says "the player does not support this type of file", or something like that. If I turn the phone off and back on, it plays fine, but will then give me the error later on in the day. The types of files I am trying to play are mp3 and xvid avi. One idea I have is that the music player widget is cause the problem because if you play an mp3, but then try to do something else while it plays(multitask) it will not play in the background like it used to. You have to actually go into the media player and create a now playing list. This is very annoying to me as I play a lot of media on my phone throughout the day and currently have to restart my phone 2 or 3 times.

I have a Nokia 5800 XM. I am not able to receive any file via Bluetooth if that file is not openable by Nokia. ie., if I receive a jpg or mp3 file, it receives fine, and when I open it from Messages, it tries to open it, and then I save it from the Message to the Gallery.But when I try to receive some other type of files which is not supported by the mobile, it receives the message, but it fails to open the bluetooth message and as a result, I am not able to save it to the Mass Memory. It says Un supported files.
Say for instance, I am trying to receive a docx (Microsoft Word) file, then I face this problem.Is there any way to save the file directly to any folder in memory without trying to open the received message?Had it been some protected files like .SIS or .SISX then I would agree, but It's bad if I am not able to receive general files.

I Have a HTC One s with a GoSmart sim card. I have had this phone for over 5 months with no problems. On New Years eve, my phone was acting weird and couldnt play any music files. When i would play it song, it would say "Unable to play this type of audio file" Then i try to play a video on youtube, and it would say "There was a problem while playing touch to retry" Nothing that had to do with sound worked. Alarms, ringtones, and even phone calls wouldnt work.
When someone would call me, it would be silent, and when i answered, no sound would come out. I restored my phone to it's factory settings and at first it didnt work, i restarted my phone like 2 times after restoring it, and it worked. I was able to listen to music, play videos, and talk on the phone. This only lasted 5 days. i dont want to go through the hassle of restoring my phone again.
So I accidentally dropped my IPhone 4 into water and everything was a bit off at first. After a while it was pretty much back to normal except for the audio. I can hear phone calls but I can't hear music, audio from games, etc. How do I fix this?

Any of my MP3 files encoded in such a manner come up unsupported and will not play. However, lo and behold, I put the MP3s on my ORIGINAL DROID, and they play just fine using Stagefright (under the stock audio player) in Froyo. Attempting to use Stagefright on the X2 results in skipping/stuttering with these files (though there are no issues with other files). So, what now? After all of the music skipping/stuttering issues, certain MP3 files are now just completely unsupported? What gives? I continue to be completely and utterly let down by this POS phone and the complete lack of support.

The device pairs with the stereo on both phone and media connections. But no sounds will stream through the stereo.
I have unpaired and re-paired the Bluetooth and its successful but it will not stream any Bluetooth sounds what so ever from the phone to the stereo.
I have all volumes turned up on the phone and on the radio. no change.My old GS3 will pair and stream with no issue to the radio.

This started after the recent Lollipop update. Any notification - new message, phone call, just setting phone on charger, etc. - resumes play on whatever I was listening to last, as if the notification had interrupted play, even if nothing had been playing at the time.

Video problem: I could not watch any video in my device. In Facebook application and got this error “failed to play video an unknown error has occurred". YouTube app. got this error "there was a problem while playing touch to retry". Gallery video even if it has been recorded by the camera earlier.
Audio problem: I’m not able to play any music, got this error “sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file." and this file is the "Over the Horizon" song which came with the device. When i go to the settings to change the ringtone I am not hearing any sound for all them. I did not put the phone in silent mode but no sound for any received calls, notifications or SMS.
I tried everything i know to solve this issue, I done all of the following but it does not works: Clear the cache memory. Uninstall all the application from the device. Factory reset. Update software.
The only thing work with me is to restart the device but it will not solve the problem permanently, it will happen again after few hours.
How do I get in-call audio to play on my car speakers? If I plug in Car AUX to the headphone jack, in-call audio and music both play over the speakers... however if my Atrix is in the craddle, music plays over the speakers, but calls are in speaker-phone mode through the phone speakers.
