May 6, 2015If I am listening to the music from youtube app or the browser it plays fine until I minimize them (put on background) or lock my phone. Then music stops playing. I looked in the settings all over the phone how to make it to continue playing but couldn't find anything. Also is there a way to pull volume stop/play control on the lock screen?. I miss this feature as I had it on my iphone 6 and also on the iphone music continues playing regardless if apps are on a background or screen is locked.

Jun 24, 2014I have noticed an issue with the Galaxy S5 that apparently only occurs with the Verizon variant. I work for a place called Wireless Advocates, we are the cell phone kiosk inside of Costco. I'm asking about this because I've had three customers come in to ask about this background data issue.
I'm not sure what triggers this issue but when I try opening up google play I get the "Background Data Disabled : Google Play Store Needs background data to be Enabled" error. It then gives you the ability to either quit or enable the data. If you press enable it takes you to the account screen in settings.
When I go to Data usage the option to "restrict background data" is greyed out. You can't even select it and it isn't checkmarked either. Just to clarify, accessing the internet and other things on the phone work perfectly fine. It's just the use of Google Play that is having issues. I called Samsung customer care and they aren't aware of this issue at all. Also note that force stopping google play, play services, removing the google accounts and adding them back and rebooting the phone haven't solved it. After the reboot the phone will appear fine and then a box that says "Restricting background data".

Aug 24, 2015My Galaxy S6 was one of the loudest phones I've owned. Its still loud but only when listening to music or watching YouTube, every other app isn't as loud anymore.
For example, I got a music game, when I listen to the song from the music player its perfectly loud, when I listen to the same exact mp3 in the game its no as loud anymore like it use to be.
Is this a known bug? is there a fix or update coming to address this?
PS: I noticed this RIGHT AFTER the 5.1.1 update (on verizon) before every app in my phone was loud

Jun 17, 2014Recently, I have been dealing with the problem of not being able to play videos on my HTC One. It is a Verizon version, using Android 4.4.2 and Sense 6, not rooted.
I am not able to play videos in YouTube, Chrome, or even videos I have taken with my own camera. For YouTube videos, it gives me a loading screen, then says, "There was a problem while playing. Touch to retry." When I try to play my own video, it tries to load, then gives me the HTC error message, saying, "Sorry, this video cannot be played." The same happens in Chrome.
The interesting thing is, some days I'll be able to watch a few videos just fine. Then after a couple I try to watch another and it gives me the error message. So I'm not really sure what is happening.

Jun 2, 2011I use Stitcher, the FM Radio and Mediafly a lot. On the X these would always stay active when surfing the web, playing most games, etc. They now last about 2 minutes before something is killing there processes. I am not using a task killer. It seems to be more of a problem when the X2 is docked.

Jul 3, 2010Firstly, when I watch video on youtube about 4-6 clips - the error message appear: "Please touch to try again" - even I touch multiple times it still can not play.Â
Then, I go to the Video App (Sony), surprisingly, the video didn't play. It appear an error message: "Can not play this video" - I try with every single video on my phone and still has the same error message.
And more surprisingly, even the video on facebook have the same problem too.
So it must be like: If I watch video on any app, suddenly the clip can not play or just keep loading infinity, these app will be "infected" immideately (at the same time as well). The only thing I can do is reboot the phone.
I know reboot phone is just spend my little time around 15-30 seconds maybe. But it is very annoying to happen with very frequently.

Sep 30, 2015I seem to have developed a strange problem since the update to 5.1.1 a couple of days ago. When I connect to my Edge via bluetooth, and use Google Play Music, there is a beep in the background and the music stutters and then continue playing, then about 30 seconds later it happens again...it coninues for about 10 to 15 minutes then the problem disappeared entirely. I don't believe it is entirely Google Play Music because I paused Google Play Music and the beeping continued in the background. ......perhaps the bluetooth connection? I haven't been able to reproduce the error but it has happened twice.

May 25, 2012I have a problem with the "My Music" app and music homescreen widget.
I can find and play music tracks but as soon as I hit the "home" key the music pauses. Basically, any time I exit the player, the music stops.. So I can listen to music OR do anything else.. annoying? yes!
If I press the "home" key or exit any other way - The widget on the home screen reverts to "Go to music dashboard" and if I press to un-pause the music, I am taken back to the "My Music" homescreen and have to re-select a song.
fix / workaround / another music player (one with Motocast capability?). Can i re-install "my music" or reset something?
- I am running motocast, but this problem occurs on Motocast and downloaded music. - i have tried turnignoff motocast computers. - This does not happen with podcasts or any other media - just music in my library.
HTC One M7 :: Audio Files Won't Play
Jan 5, 2014I Have a HTC One s with a GoSmart sim card. I have had this phone for over 5 months with no problems. On New Years eve, my phone was acting weird and couldnt play any music files. When i would play it song, it would say "Unable to play this type of audio file" Then i try to play a video on youtube, and it would say "There was a problem while playing touch to retry" Nothing that had to do with sound worked. Alarms, ringtones, and even phone calls wouldnt work.
When someone would call me, it would be silent, and when i answered, no sound would come out. I restored my phone to it's factory settings and at first it didnt work, i restarted my phone like 2 times after restoring it, and it worked. I was able to listen to music, play videos, and talk on the phone. This only lasted 5 days. i dont want to go through the hassle of restoring my phone again.
