Using BB 9700. I have question regarding installing BB applications into Media Card instead of Device Memory in BB as follows:
1. is it possible to do?
2. How can we do it?
3. What is the impact to the BB usage, in terms of stability?
mine has around 120mb free wheb purchased new. is this about right. i thought it had twice that? i assume the system takes a bit of it? but then i saw a Internet video and the guys bb is loaded with apps and still got 130mb free. search in Internet "blackberry 9700(onyx) over review". why is that? makes me wonder. is it cuz his is a tester model?
View 14 Replies View RelatedOk, media card was working fine, had alot of work pictures stored on it and was becoming a hassle to hunt through all of them to find what I wanted. So, I inserted media card in computer and transfered what I wanted to a folder on the computer. Then I formatted the card using the computer. When I put the card back into the phone, the phone knows its there, but I must have wiped the card completely as none of the folders for video, pics, etc. are on it anymore. If I take a picture and go to find it, the media card does not even show up, just device memory.
Does anybody have a remedy for this? I already tried formatting the card in the phone but that didn't work. The phone is telling me in the memory options that 1.8GB is free, so I know it works, it just lost the folders or whatever........
I recently had to wipe out my BB completely and my office IT restored the main databases.Unfortunately, I now have to reinstall again all my third party applications that I used to have (the backup file I have in my personal PC does not show the applications so I can restore them).Looking at the folders in my media card, I realize I have a lot of files related to those previous applications and wonder if I should delete them before installing the same applications again. Or do I need those files there?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently installed OS 5.0.0.442 which was posted on the very first thread of the forum. I haven't had any issues with it until recently.
When I try a soft reset, I get the red indicator light as usual, but instead of resetting, I get a message on my screen that says something along the lines of "Media card installed. All media will be copied onto the device." After this dialog box goes away, the device does NOT reset. Any ideas on why the soft reset no longer works?
all of a sudden i noticed after reviewing a pic i had just taken that my other pics were gone. I went to my options/ memory/ says "memory card not currently inserted in device". I can read the card find in an sd card reader attached to my computer but phone suddenly doesn't recognize. any ideas?

My company recently introduced a security policy that disallows the use of any from of external drives and I wasn't aware of this and i connected my phone to my laptop and couldn't access it and afterwards i noticed that i didn't have access to my files on either the device memory or memory card.I have tried saving stuff into them via bluetooth or from other systems but it won't show when i view it via my phone, however i can see the files on the system i can view the files. When i try to view the contents of the media card through the file manager i see that all the folders on the media card are showing as .exe files.I have tried to reformat the media card all to no avail.

View 1 Replies View RelatedA configuration snafu sent pictures to a folder in Device Memory. (Device Memory/Home/User/Pictures) All my previous pictures went to memory card. (Media Card/Blackberry/pictures) I am not able to move the pictures from the Device Memory folder to either the memory Card or to my PC. Normal "Move" and PC downbload procudes don't work (I can't get to the Device Memory folders via my PC, and the Blackberry won't let me move from the Device memory to the Media Card.) View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to upgrade my OS through DM. I went to click upgrade after connecting my 9700, and it pops up "application uploader needs to be upgraded." I tried installing it as it advised, 5 times already and it still pops up the same message. I tried uninstalling and installing DM again with the latest version but it is still happening. Any clues on how to fix this?

What's up, so I installed a new media card how do select any media saved to my media card instead of device memory?
I am trying to move music files from the media card to the device memory. I have accessed Blackberry website and followed the instructions but my menu does not give the option to 'Move'. This is a replacement handset and apparently software etc has been upgraded since I got the previous one 7 months ago. I want to use music as a ring tone (I am also having problems downloading music but that's another story). Can anyone out there help as I am at the point where I might just flush the thing down the loo and go back to a basic mobile!

How do I transfer them to the media card, and can I "select all" to move them all at once or do I have to go picture by picture?
Also, I use Desktop Manager for Mac. Is there any way I can move them around through my Mac Finder? Would I have to disable Mass Storage? In what situations would one enable or disable Mass Storage and MTP? (OK, that's probably a second topic; but I haven't found a good explanation of what it is.)
I am new here having jsut come from a BB Curve 8900 I love the speed of the new 9700 its a million times better. Anyway, I have a 2gb card installed but under the settings and memory section it says no card found. is there a way of getting it to reconise the card as my phone says its only got 90MB of internal memorey left which wont do me as I use it as a mp3 player as well.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a BlackBerry Bold 9700. I have taken many pictures that are on my media card. I was on Facebook and looking at a friend's pictures. It was taking too long to download the picture, so I hit the return key to exit out of Facebook. When I went into my pictures to view the ones I had taken, there were no pictures there and I got the message "A Media Card has been inserted that is not formatted. Do you wish to format the Media Card now?"
Of course nothing happens if I hit "No".
If I select "Yes" it says "Warning: Formatting the Media Card will destroy any data stored on it. Do you wish to continue?" Of course I don't want to continue. I just want my pictures and videos back!!!!I have tried turning the phone off and taking the battery out.I have inserted a different media card and it can find the pictures on that card. I have inserted my media card into a friends similar BBerry and I get the same message about the card not being formatted.
Questions:
1) Is there ANY way to get my pictures back?I believe I downloaded most of them through the Desktop Manager, but I am not sure..
2) Any idea why this happened so I know how to avoid it happening again in the future???
I just bought a Bold 9700 from a friend with no media card. Ive tryed 2 different ones and it want show theres a card in the device ive tryed a sandisk 4g and a 8g not sure the brand on the 8g got it from a bud to try but the 4g i bought new and still no luck it just says no media card inserted.
