im on the bold 9650 (running os 6) whenever i click on the email account set up icon, it takes me straight to enterprise email and that is not what i want. i have done resets and wipes and it does not work. i want personal emails.

i just purchased a bold 9700 and i was trying to configure my personal email accounts. however, under settings -> setup wizard-> email setup, i only have the option to use "i want to use a work email account with a blackberry enterprise server", and nothing else. i viewed setting up personal email Internet video and from the user menu, there seems to be a possibility to select "personal email" setup where gmail and hotmail can be configured.

My main reason to buy this phone was to be able to browse the internet and check my email in wireless hotspots ( I am a student so wireless internet is openly available at the university). However, under email setup the only option available to me is the Blackberry Enterprise server, I apparently should have a 'personal email setup' but it is not available. I did a lot of research on the internet and this forum but could not find a solution to my problem. I would be very grateful if someone can provide me with some answers. I also contacted the person whom I bought the phone from and apparently he does not have the answers either. Tried calling Fido and they did not offer any support as the phone one was not bought from them.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI bought my first BlackBerry (Curve 3G 9300) on Friday and tried to setup a personal email account on the phone via the setup wizard earlier today.The phone said that an update to 6.11...... was needed in order to do this. I let it update, now the phone is just hanging after starting up. If I do a start up after removing the battery it comes up with a black screen with the BlackBerry logo and a progress bar below it. The progress bar moves along until the end, this takes around a minute. It then shows something like a little clock over the logo for about a second. Once this disappears the phone says with the logo and the completed progress bar - and just hangs there.

It just asks me the passwords for my existing emails but when I enter my passwords, nothing happens. It asks me to log in again. I can't set up new emails on this phone. I've updated to the OS 6 and now I cannot setup my email accounts. Can't add or delete any account. View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to setup email connection. On this 9360 I do not have any Connection Assistant so I use "setup" mode and "mail accounts" options. Usually (as on my previous Curve 8520) I used to have two options when entering there :
- Use my own email address (personal address) or create a new one
- Use my Enterprise email address
But when I launch Email setup on my curve 9360, I have only the Enterprise option so that I Cannot setup email! My 9360 runs under OS 7.
I got my first BB (8520) two weeks ago, and I still have not managed to get the email and MMS setup. If I go to messages, there is only SMS and email, no MMS options.. And when I try to set the email there is only the Enterprise option, I wanna set it up with my gmail.

With my work emails I am not getting them instantly. Work does have a BES server and can give me a password to access their server but T-Mobile are using my webmail URL to connect me to the emails.
1) is this correct
2) Can we get rid of the time lag/delay in receiving emails from my work email address so it is more instant?

I have had to change my hotmail password (I can't get to the BlackBerry® Internet Service web site) and therefore, cannot get my email until I change the email password on my blackberry interface. I tried getting my password from the email set up dialog on my blackberry. They sent me a message with my password attached but when I use the password trying to log in I am told that my user name or password is not valid. I have tried this a number of times to make sure I have entered it properly but I consistently get the same result. How do I reset or get a password that will get me into the email setup for my blackberry.

i get to the point where you have to select the email pproviders.i select gmail, enter my account name, then my password, press ok and it sends me back to the email provider selection list.
my only option there is press back or option.but back just takes me back to the begoning without any of the options being save.
I seem to be having the same problem as others with the email setup application.
When I updated my Blackberry to the new OS6, I went to my email setup and it said "looking for updates" It finds a new update from my already installed email setup app 6.0.0 to the new 6.11.0419.0755.
When I click "download" it says replace existing version? I click "yes"
The it says: "com.rim.bis.client" contains a different version of module "net_rim_bis_client" which is also used by email setup application. If you proceed, "email setup application" may cease to function properly. proceed?
If I click "yes proceed" it crashes my blackberry and it will not reboot and I have to do a complete hard reboot, wipe the device and reload everything from my backup on blackberry desktop.
If I click "no" not to proceed, I cannot open the email setup application.
I have tried downgrading to version 5 of the OS, I have rebooted with a battery pull, crashed my blackberry twice and spent hours reloading all my applications and systems. I am at the end of my rope, and I don't know what else to do?!
If there was a way to turn off the automatic search for updates on my device under the setup and email settings, i think I would be able to set it up in the older version 6.0.0
I have one personal email on my BB and I was always able to add another one until yesterday. Now when I click on the "add email" in setup it opens a browser and tries to add an email that way asking for data I never used before. There is NO other option.
