BB Curve :: Email Setup Application Does Not Work After Update

I seem to be having the same problem as others with the email setup application.
When I updated my Blackberry to the new OS6, I went to my email setup and it said "looking for updates" It finds a new update from my already installed email setup app 6.0.0 to the new 6.11.0419.0755.
When I click "download" it says replace existing version? I click "yes"
The it says: "com.rim.bis.client" contains a different version of module "net_rim_bis_client" which is also used by email setup application. If you proceed, "email setup application" may cease to function properly. proceed?
If I click "yes proceed" it crashes my blackberry and it will not reboot and I have to do a complete hard reboot, wipe the device and reload everything from my backup on blackberry desktop.
If I click "no" not to proceed, I cannot open the email setup application.
I have tried downgrading to version 5 of the OS, I have rebooted with a battery pull, crashed my blackberry twice and spent hours reloading all my applications and systems. I am at the end of my rope, and I don't know what else to do?!
If there was a way to turn off the automatic search for updates on my device under the setup and email settings, i think I would be able to set it up in the older version 6.0.0

On June 10, I received a notification that there was a new update available to the Internet e-mail setup application. I can't access my em-mail settings without downloading the update. I downloaded the update, and, after rebooting, there was an error message saying the software couldn't be found! There was nothing on my phone besides a white screen with a long list of software file names. I couldn't go past this screen, make phone calls, text, or even power down without pulling the battery out! BB Tech Support was able to help me reinstall the operating system and restore evertyhing through the desktop software (sadly my last sync was 4 months ago so I lost all of my apps).To this day, it still prompts me to download the update when I try to access the E-mail Setup application. I don't remember what version the update was on June 10 but the version showing is 6.11.0419.0755. I need to access this application but I'm terrified to download the update.

I'm trying to setup my email but when I tried opening the Setup, there's no icon for email. So I tried to search the application, when it showed the email setup application, I clicked on it but there's no response.

I went to update the email setup application on my new 9330 and throughout the update, it prompted me several times with the message: ? is also used by "Email Setup Application." If you proceed "Email setup application" may cease to function properly. Proceed? I don't know what the ? preceding the beginning of the statement means. After I clicked on this several times throughout the update it finally updated and prompted for a restart. I restarted and the phone filled up the status bar and froze. Even after I removed and replaced the battery several times. I got the phone to unfreeze finally but I won't update the email installer again until this problem is worked out.

I downloaded the new updated version 023.002 on my Nokia E72, however the e-mail setup for gmail & yahoo or Ovi does not work, every time I try to enter the e-mail setting while conected to Wi-Fi, the phone does not save the setting & I should try again & again with no success.

Updated to the latest software this morning and synced etc. all was good accept there was a box in setup stuck at 55% uploading for my contacts. So after leaving it for a couple of hours etc., I just cancelled that part of the process as everything including email was working fine. Since that however I now have no email push! It is asking me to reactivate although it still sees my 2 accounts Email Accounts (2) shows in set up but when i enter it states that there are no email account activated. I try to reactivate them however only give me the box for enterprise accounts not internet based account i.e. hotmail. I try to activate and it eventually tells me that this fails. All has been working with my emails since i got the phone absolutely fine until today!

I accidentally deleted the Blackberry Email Setup application in my BB Torch 9800. Accordingly, I cannot setup any email accounts on my BB.

I purchased a Bold 9780. Everything works fine, exept that by mistake I deleted the application called "Email Setup Application". Then now when I m trying to go in the option Email account management, a message appears which says: Unable to open email setup application. Contact your wireless service provider. My phone operator is vodaphone.nl and I have the data plan. I tried to deleted all the service books, tried to register it again, and also tried to wipe the blackberry. The result is the same, this application doesnt come back. Is there any way to reinstall this application?

Last week Verizon had an interuption in e-mail service.I received a notification on my Blackberry that I needed to verify my Password.I tried, but recevied a message saying email setup application is not available.I have tried numerous times since then to no avail.I even tried rebooting my phone. I'm not sure if it is a Blackberry issue or a Verizon issue.

I'm here to report a huge bug. With the Email setup application update 6.11.0324.1701. I've tried to install it and my BB won't boot. At first I got a 606 error then I had the progress bar stuck full. I had to reinstall the OS and restore. If I refuse the update from the software I won't get access to the setup page. This update is here [URL] I've tried with 6.0.0.526 6.0.0.534 and 6.0.0.246 and the same issue with everyone. I've tried to load this one [URL] then the BB boot but when I try to go to the BIS setup nothing happens. So I guess this is a language problem or a corrupt update. Non english users DO NOT UPDATE!!

I have been using Bold 9780 for a year now without a problem. Because I Changed my password for my email account (Gmail) yesterday, I needed to update it on my Bold also. But when I tried to access Email Account Management, I got a message "Unable to open email setup application. Contact your wireless service provider". I did, and they told me that the only remedy would be to clean install the operating system. As I would like to avoid this, I searched the web a bit, and found the advice to setup my email account online. I tried this, but got an error message saying that my device was not registered, although I did register it a few minutes earlier (Houst Routing Table -> Register now). I re-registered, reboothed the device - same error.

I bought my first BlackBerry (Curve 3G 9300) on Friday and tried to setup a personal email account on the phone via the setup wizard earlier today.The phone said that an update to 6.11...... was needed in order to do this. I let it update, now the phone is just hanging after starting up. If I do a start up after removing the battery it comes up with a black screen with the BlackBerry logo and a progress bar below it. The progress bar moves along until the end, this takes around a minute. It then shows something like a little clock over the logo for about a second. Once this disappears the phone says with the logo and the completed progress bar - and just hangs there.

I recently updated to OS6. Since the update, I have been trying to add an email account to my BB but whenever I try to open the setup app, it advises to update Email Setup Application 6.11.0324.1701. There is a major bug in this update.When I click cancel, I cannot access the setup. I needed to setup a secondary email addy with RogersWireless yesterday and while I was there I got the bright idea to change my password for my primary account.This totally screwed my BB (no more email being received) sent me an email saying I needed to verify my password.tried to go into Setup to access my email settings..my BB freezes and I have to shut it down and re-start.Next bright idea...go to Messages Options then try to access email settings that way...message comes up and says "Unable to open email setup application. Contact your wireless service provider."Now I'm not saying I don't enjoy spending an afternoon chatting with Rogers but is there anyway to fix this without having to waste an afternoon?

When I try and set up a new email address I get a "Update Failed" error message. The email address is valid and works fine on my computer. The same email address also worked fine on another Blackberry device previously.

I am using bb Curve 9300 right now but when I insert my card in bb bold 9780 (which I just bought, emails don,t work. It just asks me the passwords for my existing emails but when I enter my passwords, nothing happens. It asks me to log in again. I can't set up new emails on this phone. It doesn't give me option to set up new emails.

I have the BB 9700 Bold and I've updated to the new operating system OS 6 because the BlackBerry Software Device in my laptop requested it. I've updated to the OS 6 and now I cannot setup my email accounts. Can't add or delete any account. I go to "Setup->Email Account" and when I press "Internet Mail Account" nothing happens and it goes back to the "Setup" menu! I need to install a new account in my blackberry!

I have had to change my hotmail password (I can't get to the BlackBerry® Internet Service web site) and therefore, cannot get my email until I change the email password on my blackberry interface. I tried getting my password from the email set up dialog on my blackberry. They sent me a message with my password attached but when I use the password trying to log in I am told that my user name or password is not valid. I have tried this a number of times to make sure I have entered it properly but I consistently get the same result. How do I reset or get a password that will get me into the email setup for my blackberry.

i've been trying to set up an email account on my e72 but i can't seem to get it right
i get to the point where you have to select the email pproviders.i select gmail, enter my account name, then my password, press ok and it sends me back to the email provider selection list.
my only option there is press back or option.but back just takes me back to the begoning without any of the options being save.
