BB Curve :: Unable To Open Email Setup Application-contact Wireless Service Provider
Aug 9, 2011
Hi, I'm new here! Tried to set a new e-mail on my Curve 9300 and get a message saying "Unable to open email setup application-contact your wireless service provider". Not sure what this is. do I contact Orange or BB?
I needed to setup a secondary email addy with RogersWireless yesterday and while I was there I got the bright idea to change my password for my primary account. This totally screwed my BB (no more email being received) sent me an email saying I needed to verify my password.tried to go into Setup to access my email settings..my BB freezes and I have to shut it down and re-start.Next bright idea...go to Messages Options then try to access email settings that way...message comes up and says "Unable to open email setup application. Contact your wireless service provider."Now I'm not saying I don't enjoy spending an afternoon chatting with Rogers but is there anyway to fix this without having to waste an afternoon?
My Carrier is [URL] And I have a BIS plan. I wipe my 9700 today, but when I setup my email account, it shows "unable to open email setup application"finally I found the problem may be KB26055 but i don't know where to download the application.
I'm trying to setup my email but when I tried opening the Setup, there's no icon for email. So I tried to search the application, when it showed the email setup application, I clicked on it but there's no response.
I have jsut bought a Blackberry Curve 8520 and have been having problems with the browser. Every time i click on it to open, it comes up with a message saying "Your device does not currently have any Browser Service Book Entries. Please contact your service provider to enable the browser on your device".I have spoken to them twice but they dont seem to know anything as the 2 solutions they have given me do not work!I think my problem lies when i go into Options-Advanced Options-Browser, i have literally nothing in it, whereas my girlfriend has 3 different options.
Can I setup email without subscribing to a provider, but just by connecting to my home wifi? I have followed instructions, but only get the option 'I want to use a work email account with a BB Enterprise Server, for which I do not have an activation password.
I have a curve 8520 & ever since I upgraded the to OS 5 I have been unable to open email attachments as the option isn't there. I have found out that the Attachment Service is no longer installed on my handset & when connected to the Desktop Manager it is not in the application list so there is no option to install it. How do I go about installing the attachment service?
i brought a blackberry curve 8520 on orange a few days ago but i cant use the internet and i cant set up an email account because i need to register my BB.i have tried to register it using the my PIN and IMEI but it just says:cannot create account:This blackberry device is not registered with your wireless service provider. Please register this device and vertify that the URl of the current web site matches the one provided by your wireless service provider. To register:1. In the Application list on your device, click options, or click settings options2. Click advanced options > host routing table3. Click the menu key and click register now..If the error persists, contact your wireless service provider...i have registered it by following those instructions then i got a text saying:Your handheld has been registered with your wireless network but it still wont let me create an account!
cancel my Blackberry Curve 9300 association with the wireless service provider. I transferred it to my son that has another service provider and is getting all the services from the device with them, less to set up his email account.
I had used a handheld upgrade link only to discover this message: BlackBerry® Device Software v4.5 is not supported by your wireless service provider. Now the reason why this is complicated is because I do not know what the service provider is for the phone. I am simply attempting to restore it. I have made several attempts at wiping and factory resetting via JL_Cmder but all attempts have failed because the program cannot hold a connection with the Bold. Can someone please help?
Is there an app that can retrieve caller ID information even when call ID isn't set up with a service provider? Even when I get a call that's in my phone book, it just displays 'unknown'. This is annoying but I don't want to pay yet another fee to my provider.
I am having problem in setting up my email. As soon as I go to setup email it gives me an error "Your device encountered a problem with this applications server".When I try to upgrade my software on 9900 it give me an error : your Blackberry desktop software failed to validate your blackberry device update"
My phone was working properly. Then it went to a screen with the following message: "Configuration error. Please contact your network or service provider". The phone can receive incoming calls, but that is it. I have tried the update service. Result - Your phone has the latest software update.
Using the SE PC Suite, and connecting by using the USB cable, a list of folders is displayed which are empty. Using the "Phone Repair" from the SE PC Suite, and after following the instructions, the only result is - "Update Failed". Please can someone assist me in sorting out this problem?
I seem to be having the same problem as others with the email setup application.
When I updated my Blackberry to the new OS6, I went to my email setup and it said "looking for updates" It finds a new update from my already installed email setup app 6.0.0 to the new 6.11.0419.0755.
When I click "download" it says replace existing version? I click "yes" The it says: "com.rim.bis.client" contains a different version of module "net_rim_bis_client" which is also used by email setup application. If you proceed, "email setup application" may cease to function properly. proceed?
If I click "yes proceed" it crashes my blackberry and it will not reboot and I have to do a complete hard reboot, wipe the device and reload everything from my backup on blackberry desktop.
If I click "no" not to proceed, I cannot open the email setup application.
I have tried downgrading to version 5 of the OS, I have rebooted with a battery pull, crashed my blackberry twice and spent hours reloading all my applications and systems. I am at the end of my rope, and I don't know what else to do?!
If there was a way to turn off the automatic search for updates on my device under the setup and email settings, i think I would be able to set it up in the older version 6.0.0
I bought a sprint blackberry bold 9650 through amazon, and I'm in Kenya. There is no sprint network In Kenya and I'm unable to use the Blackberry service and hashcodes through a local network provider, safaricom. I can make calls and sms. What should I do?
I went to update the email setup application on my new 9330 and throughout the update, it prompted me several times with the message: ? is also used by "Email Setup Application." If you proceed "Email setup application" may cease to function properly. Proceed? I don't know what the ? preceding the beginning of the statement means. After I clicked on this several times throughout the update it finally updated and prompted for a restart. I restarted and the phone filled up the status bar and froze. Even after I removed and replaced the battery several times. I got the phone to unfreeze finally but I won't update the email installer again until this problem is worked out.

I have recently moved my services from vodafone to TataDocomo. But when I tried to register my service online on tatadocomo, It was denied. After checking with tadocomo customer care, they said my BBM PIN is blocked by Vodafone. But when I checked with Vodafone they said they don't know about it.
i got this curve 9220 couple of days ago now it does not connect to the service provider it keeps searching for network and the antenna signal indicator comes on and off continously hence the moble cannot make or recieve calls
I have an 8520 Curve, OS version V5.0.0681 (platform 5.2.0.67). Is it possible to change the Service provider software, say from O2 UK to Vodafone UK?Its just that I want to give the phone as a gift and it would be great if it was branded with the appropriate software.Obviously unlocking is not a problem.I have downloaded the Vodafone UK software from the BB site, but I just don't know how to do it, or even if its possible.
I am able to connect to the internet with DNA (Finland) at only some spots, but BB messaging, email, google maps, or any other app doesn't work. DNA has never seen a BB and have tried to talk to their Technical support whom say to just activate as follows: GPRS WAP settings clients: ip address: 10.1.1.1 Port: 9201 GPRS connection settings WAP2.0 DNA's clients: proxy server ip address (proxy): 10.1.1.1 Proxy port: 8080 I was able to find the first part but don't know where to change the proxy server and how can I connect to emails and BB messaging. I need a lot of help or I might just give up having a BB in Nokialand.
I've gotten texts from several different people over the past couple days and I can open all of them but one...my friend is texting me from a Verizon phone and she is the only one from Verizon who's texts I can't open. Is there something wrong with my phone/sms? Or is my USCellular BB just boycotting Verizon?
In a moment of insanity, I turned off wireless email reconciliation for three of my email accounts. I did this, not knowing that it is impossible to turn it back on from my device! Is there any way to fix this without deleting and then re-adding my email accounts?
I have changed the carrier from Vodafone to AIrcel. while i had vodafone connection i was able to access my personal mails (gmail and yahoo) however am unable to set up email now when am in Aircel conneciton. i have activated enterprise account.
Received a meesage from Blackberry saying my gmail could no longer be delivered. I was instructed to enter setup and re-enter my password.
But clicking on mail within setup brings no setup options ...unlike the other like Blackberry Messenger or instant messaging. Once I have clicked on mail settings I find that I cannot exit setup at all (no problem if I select anything other than mail) and must turn off the deivice to restore capability.
This has probably occurred after an OS upgrade ? ..running 6.0 bundle 2534.. though until the Blackberry message I hadn't noticed a problem.
Is there a fix or is there the abilty to backout the upgrade ?
I while back after installing an update on my phone from the BB site. I am not sure what the update was it was a few months ago. I lost my email accounts. When trying to add them back by going into SETUP and then clicking on EMAIL ACCOUNTS nothing happens, no errors. It just sits there. I've wiped the device earlier today and still nothing happens when I click on the Email Accounts icon.
Ive just got my new BB Curve 3g but cant setup an email account. It just keeps asking for me to setup an enterprise account?? But i just want to use my existing hotmail account. Also I registered for the Blackerry bolt on, but dont know if its working yet because im unable to use the BBM or facebook app, but I can use the browser to access the web when im on WIFI.
My unit is a Blackberry Curve 9300.I recently changed my password on my email accounts using my Mac. The same email accounts that were setup in my BB Curve.Having done this, I received a mail on my BB stating that I cannot receive emails from the accounts I changed my password on until I update the email setitings on my BB.So I go to SETUP, click EMAIL ACCOUNTS and I was asked, "Are you ready for your device updates?". I click YES and I was brought to a browser with a link "DOWNLOAD MAIL SETUP" which I clicked. And then the phone hangs.I restarted but now I cannot seem to access the "EMAIL ACCOUNTS" link on the setup folder so I can update my password. When I click, nothing happens.
