Is there an app that can retrieve caller ID information even when call ID isn't set up with a service provider? Even when I get a call that's in my phone book, it just displays 'unknown'. This is annoying but I don't want to pay yet another fee to my provider.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI needed to setup a secondary email addy with RogersWireless yesterday and while I was there I got the bright idea to change my password for my primary account.This totally screwed my BB (no more email being received) sent me an email saying I needed to verify my password.tried to go into Setup to access my email settings..my BB freezes and I have to shut it down and re-start.Next bright idea...go to Messages Options then try to access email settings that way...message comes up and says "Unable to open email setup application. Contact your wireless service provider."Now I'm not saying I don't enjoy spending an afternoon chatting with Rogers but is there anyway to fix this without having to waste an afternoon?

When I switch the SIM card the handset ask for blackberry ID and password, on entering the details it says invalid Blackberry ID. We have an old iPhone 3G that is no longer on a Bell contract. We have installed Apps on the iphone through the computer but I cannot get the the wifi to work on it. Does it need to be under contract with a carrier or have a SIM card in order for wifi to work?

I have got home and spent all night trying to put everything back onto my new phone, but my pictures and contacts don't seem to be there. Instead it added all the pictures off my laptop and not from my previous handset
I'm not bothered about my contacts but there are some pictures that i would be really upset to lose of my nephew.

When I use my iphone4 as a hotspot, I run through all the required settings but my computer does not recognized my iphone4. I check the signal which has 5 bars and AT&T then an "E".. I expected to see a 3G so I reset the system and still received an "E". So my deduction is that the Hotspot will not work without a 3G signal.

However, I have a question: Can the BlackBerry be activated with another service provider? Is it useless after i reported? Can I try to contact RIM and lock IMEI and PIN for any kind of future use? I have all that information.

I received my unlock code from from my service provider (Vodafone) for my bb 9780, I entered the code in without switching the wireless connections off by mistake, the code entered correctly and the network was didabled but now I cannot get a service from my provider. the signal bar is 4 bars or higher and it displays whichever sim card provider logo.
View 4 Replies View RelatedEvery so often on my N8, I get a call from "someone". All I see is the phone number, with no indication of who it's from. Then I find out it's from someone who should have already been listed in my contacts.
Is there any way to search through contacts by phone number? At least that way I'd know who the call was from, before calling back.
Also, is there anything to do (or not to do) that will minimize this problem? I have multiple phone numbers and email addresses for several people, but I didn't think that would create an issue.
Rumors are that OS 6.0 will be available to the 9700. For official OS 6.0 release, is the onus on your service provider to provide this new upgrade? Or will you have to get it through other service providers that are more on top of their game and releases new OS 6.0s first? i.e. is it going to be like upgrading OS 5.0 where if you want the latest version, you'd have to use another service provider's OS version?
