I tried to use the email setup application and was informed an update was available. In the middle of the installation, it said it was cancelling. Now when I start the email setup, I get to the choice of internet email or enterprise account, and when I select internet email, nothing happens. I saw a suggestion to try a battery pull, but that did not work either.
View 9 RepliesIts been a while since I purchased my Blackberry Bold 9780 (February to be precise). I was extremely happy with its functioning aand it never gave me any problems...until yesterday. I have a Apple Macbook on which I have loaded the Desktop Software to backup my data, transfer music, photos, etc.Yesterday as soon as I connected my device to my computer it notified me that there were updates for my device and if I would like to install them. I ticked on the necessary options to backup my data and initiated the update process. That was the last time I saw my device working fine. It took a while to update after which it finally showed up on my desktop software. The OS was now 6.0 build 2647. I safely disconnected my phone to check whether everything was ok. At first glance it was all good and that was until I went into the setup app on my device and clicked on email set-up. It just showed a small loader for a microsecond but didn't respond. To make matters worse, I couldn't exit the setup app and the device just hung up. After a hard reset, it did manage to enter the email setup app, showed me two options (Internet mail account, Enterprise account). clicking on any one of them bought me back to the same hang where the device just froze. Multiple hard resets later, took another route to find the problem. This time through my email message inbox---->options---->account management. This is where is showed me a message which read that it was unable to load my account settings and I ned to contact my wireless service provider. 2 hours on the phone with the tech supervisor from Orange and half hour of security wipe, left me back to square one. Issue not resolved yet, device takes ages to start and flashes a red light everytime before it boots....and most importantly can't setup any new mail nor can update the settings of the current ones.

It just asks me the passwords for my existing emails but when I enter my passwords, nothing happens. It asks me to log in again. I can't set up new emails on this phone. I've updated to the OS 6 and now I cannot setup my email accounts. Can't add or delete any account. I have had to change my hotmail password (I can't get to the BlackBerry® Internet Service web site) and therefore, cannot get my email until I change the email password on my blackberry interface. I tried getting my password from the email set up dialog on my blackberry. They sent me a message with my password attached but when I use the password trying to log in I am told that my user name or password is not valid. I have tried this a number of times to make sure I have entered it properly but I consistently get the same result. How do I reset or get a password that will get me into the email setup for my blackberry.

i get to the point where you have to select the email pproviders.i select gmail, enter my account name, then my password, press ok and it sends me back to the email provider selection list.
my only option there is press back or option.but back just takes me back to the begoning without any of the options being save.
I seem to be having the same problem as others with the email setup application.
When I updated my Blackberry to the new OS6, I went to my email setup and it said "looking for updates" It finds a new update from my already installed email setup app 6.0.0 to the new 6.11.0419.0755.
When I click "download" it says replace existing version? I click "yes"
The it says: "com.rim.bis.client" contains a different version of module "net_rim_bis_client" which is also used by email setup application. If you proceed, "email setup application" may cease to function properly. proceed?
If I click "yes proceed" it crashes my blackberry and it will not reboot and I have to do a complete hard reboot, wipe the device and reload everything from my backup on blackberry desktop.
If I click "no" not to proceed, I cannot open the email setup application.
I have tried downgrading to version 5 of the OS, I have rebooted with a battery pull, crashed my blackberry twice and spent hours reloading all my applications and systems. I am at the end of my rope, and I don't know what else to do?!
If there was a way to turn off the automatic search for updates on my device under the setup and email settings, i think I would be able to set it up in the older version 6.0.0
Well I have just been given my 1st BB from work this morning. I'm trying to set it up to get my work emails but when I try it is coming up with "Invalid email address or Password".

I have my incoming Yahoo mail filtered to different folders, so I have new mail in different folders, which at present I can't see on the Bold.

View 1 Replies View Relatedeverything was fine until this morning. after syncing my bb bold 9780, they prompted me to update my blackberry system software. after i have done so, the phone did a long "reboot" and i realised after that all my email accounts are gone. and i have to set them up again.
however after i go to SETUP, i click on EMAIL ACCOUNTS and then INTERNET MAIL ACCOUNT, it goes back to the SETUP page, every single time. And when i select Exit Setup, the phone freezes. When it freezes, i will take out the battery and try again but the same thing happened every single time!
was it something to do with the software? and more importantly, can anyone tell me what i can do to set up my email accounts?
Im in South Africa, got a 9700 from Nashuamobile, using the MTN network.My contract is only beginning from 01 July.I want to setup my current email adress on the phone like it is currrently on my N95.However it seems it will not be possible without the Blackberry service been activated?
So if this is the case, then my question is that the will it be impossible to have my email working on it without the BIS or BES service? How can this be possible? I thought I have the option of taking the BIS service or not?I suppose its the same in all countries , nevermind the ISp or Carrier?
My Email Accounts Icon will not open under Setup on my Bold 9930. Neither the push-to-touch or the hot button will open this set-up Icon. All other set-up Icons work okay. I've completely removed the battery and SIM card, but the problem remains.

I go to the setup on the main screen (the phone with the green gear) and I can see under set up the little icon for Email Accounts, but when I click on it nothing opens up. I can click on other icons (i.e. Wi-Fi) and the set up screen opens for them, but not for the email accounts.
I already had an email account on my bold 9900 but recently i changed my password and now bb email wants me to go to setup and verificate my new password. The problem is that whenever i go to setup and click on email account and then Internet Mail Account nothing happened. It's not responding, and i can't do anything about my email, delate it, nor add new one.

For some reason, the email setup application initializes by it self without me clicking on it and it keeps popping up once in a while. This happened on my torch as well.

I believe the problem lies with the setup requiring OWA address, while our OWA is only internal only.With Android, all we had to do is put domain, exchange server and username. Is there hope still? Perhaps a thirdparty app?
