I have a Verizon Bold 9650/5.0.0.975 I picked it up at a pawn shop and all it has is wifi. Is there a way to setup any of the instance messaging apps to work just on wifi?

View 6 Replies View Relatedi bought my BB one of the first things i wanted to do was setup my e-mail account and instant messaging so i did this by following the tutorials, however when i tried doing both it failed. The message i get is "Invalid email address or password. Verify your email addres and password. If the error persists, contact hotmail.co.uk." to setup my email address i chose "othe"r although there are options for windows live, [URL] is not there.
The strange thing is my sister got the same phone and i set her phone up for her and her's weorked straight away and she too registered a hotmail.co.uk email address.
Are you able to listen to music while instant messaging or BBMing? It seems that when I'm listening to music and I'm on BBM and someone sends me a message, it stops my music and I hear the cricket sound but then my music doesn't resume after that. It's bugging me a little because then that means I can't have my music playing and getting SMS/MMS/IM notifications because it'll continue cutting the music off. It sounds like there was an issue when I did a switch device through DM. Anyone care to shed some light if you guys have the same issue?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have sprint as a carrier and my phone doesnt receive text at all from at&t phones at times but mostly from iphones. this is my third blackberry that has had this problem, i for some apparent reason just cant receive any text that are coming from iphones and it just puzzles me why. i can however receive their picture text messages but anything text related i cannot.
Ive tried calling technical support and they help me through some stuff but ultimately i still couldnt receive them. i went into the store and exchanged it several times but it doesnt seem like it matter the same problem keeps on coming up.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I got my Blackberry Torch 9800 everything worked for two days well not everything the browser said "uncaught exception java.lang illegal state so I did the sofeware update.After the update a I was unable to use the BB Messange..I went to my Service Provider and they told me I had to reload my OS which they did.I can send and recieve textes and calls but I still cannot get instant messaging, BB messanger and emails. I live in the Cayman Islands and my service provider is LIME. I bought this phone from Amazon via the OEM Planet in April.

Every time I try to add an account through the Social Hub and through the IM app, I get "Error Occurred".I was able to add Gmail and hotmail but I can't add any of the IM programs such as Windows live messenger and Google Talk.My phone is factory unlocked, stock kernel XWKF3.I tried calling Samsung for support, and they just told me to send the phone back, but I know it's not a problem with the phone.

He proceeded to start using the built-in Instant Messaging app, which I endorsed because it had the AOL Instant Messenger logo right in it. I assumed that the Instant Messenger use would use his Internet Data Plan. Surprise when I got the first month's bill and AT&T saw fit to route those messages out their SMS system and hit me with close to $40 in "extra TXT" fees. I'm going to ruin one of their employee's day tomorrow. But that's not why I'm here. I deleted that infernal IM app and have found eBuddy, with which I am familiar. I have downloaded it to the Vivaz and it runs, but when it starts is asks for permission to use the Internet, and then it sits there and says "installing". WHen I click "Cancel", I am told: "Your Internet settings must be activated for Java applications, or try again later. Check your phone manual or www.ebuddy.com on how to do this." Well, neither place mentions anything about this. How can I get this application to run?

Now the photos are no longer present in file explorer , but when I want to attach a photo or a video from an app like WhatsApp or Viber it keeps on showing previews of deleted albums. I have a new-to-me device, after my original Curve 8530 had to be sent back to the carrier. I restored old settings from a backup re Desktop Manager, but now there are messaging problems. One, my setup folder doesn't have an e-mail setup option. Two, in "Email Reconciliation" option, only chloice I have is to change the e-mail account on "Message Services" drop-down. Related to that, if I'm in "messages," my Options screen lacks "Reconcile Now."

My Blackberry Bold 9650 Browser won't work. I do have the blackberry data plan with AT&T and every time I attempt to open the browser, a message pops up "This is a Wi-Fi service. Please ensure your device has an active Wi-Fi connection and try again." When I try to change the browser option to internet explorer from Hot Spot browser there are not any other options that come up.

View 5 Replies View RelatedHow can I tell if my wifi is on or not? My wifi logo on the upper right corner is "colored" in black/white. If its on, does it drain the battery? I've noticed my phone's battery life has been weaker than my Tour.
Has anyone else noticed the weak battery life compared to the Tour (for those that had one)?Lastly, the Bolds didn't come with a media card? I was able to record videos on my Tour but when I tried recording a video yesterday, a screen came up with "To record a video, insert a Media Card." If they didn't, how much would it cost to get one?
Here's an anomaly for ya. Whenever I browse the BlackBerry app catalog via my computer and click the "get this app" link, I get the email with the link attached no problem. Then I click on the link which prompts the Bberry browser. However, when I go to click the link that says "open in BlackBerry App World", the loading bar will appear on the bottom of the browser for a second and then....nothing happens.
So I checked all my permissions for the browser to ensure that everything is checked off (which it is). So I'm pretty sure that nothing is being inadvertantly blocked.
I have a Blackberry Bold 9650 and the trackpad freezes or doesn't work. This has happened a couple times, and I have to completely restore the device, but this time nothing works. The keypad works fine, but the trackpad doesn't work at all, and thus I can't access anything but the phone. I have updated all the software.
