When i get to the wifi setup screen (no wifi available) it wont let me continue with setup without selecting a wifi network...there isnt one around so cannot continue with the setup, is there no way around this ?

My friend is with Roger and he managed to setup his email via a wifi network, and I was wondering if this was possible for me too.
He told me to turn off my network, and have it so I'm only connected via Wifi, and then setup my email, but everytime I try, it tells me I have no network, and says I need to connect first. But since my network doesn't have an email data plan, it doesn't work.
I recently updated to the new OS version, but when I went to set up my email accounts again, it's says "Sorry, unable able to continue your session. Please log in again." I know for a fact that the passwords are correct because it allows me to see the passwords.

But then, I realized that we had WiFi here at home, well not always. But the main problem is, it doesn't work on my bb. It reads my WiFi router(linksys) but the WiFi icon doesn't turn white. it's always gray.
That's odd because when I'm scanning for networks and I connect, it always says "WiFi setup complete" But it doesn't show a check mark, it just shows a dash mark. I tried to look for a problem and when I go to services status, my Blackberry internet service is not connected. But I have an active profile of linksys.

I mean whenever I check the box for turning wifi on, it wont turn on and when I do wifi setup wizard it says "unable to turn wifi on". I did clean reload of BB OS, I even did a downgrade for BB OS, I erased all the data and set everything to default but yet no results. I have a huge app collection so normally get quite a few updates every few days. I normally plug my phone in at night for charging and press 'update all'. By morning everything is done as it was done over wifi. For some odd reason, it has not been working for the last few days. When I get up in the morning all the apps are in the exact state of download as when I plugged my phone in for charging. What can be the culprit here? Really need this functionality.

I have a new-to-me device, after my original Curve 8530 had to be sent back to the carrier. I restored old settings from a backup re Desktop Manager, but now there are messaging problems. One, my setup folder doesn't have an e-mail setup option. Two, in "Email Reconciliation" option, only chloice I have is to change the e-mail account on "Message Services" drop-down. Related to that, if I'm in "messages," my Options screen lacks "Reconcile Now."
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought my first BlackBerry (Curve 3G 9300) on Friday and tried to setup a personal email account on the phone via the setup wizard earlier today.The phone said that an update to 6.11...... was needed in order to do this. I let it update, now the phone is just hanging after starting up. If I do a start up after removing the battery it comes up with a black screen with the BlackBerry logo and a progress bar below it. The progress bar moves along until the end, this takes around a minute. It then shows something like a little clock over the logo for about a second. Once this disappears the phone says with the logo and the completed progress bar - and just hangs there.

After reactivation, I tried to set up email so she could check her Hotmail, but the setup wizard only shows one option - enterprise email through Exchange. I know when I use to use the Storm myself, I had both Hotmail and a POP email account set up with no problems. Is this a device issue or a carrier issue? I had Bell activate the Storm on a minimal (200MB) BlackBerry data plan and the phone seems to work fine (as a phone, at least!)
