I had set up the connection from the wi-fi but when I start browsing i think mobile network internet start's working and not the wi-fi one, though the wi-fi network name appears with the mobile network name on the home screen??

Jan 12, 2012I am having little problem with my blackberry 8520....earlier today I couldn't see my blackberry messenger on the instant message file, so searching for it led me to reloading my phone and before I reloaded it, the wifi connection was working perfectly, but now I can connect to wifi but my instant messengers are not working with it, like my blackberry messenger and yahoo messenger are not working with the wifi connection. And under the "Default Browser Configuration, I can see T-mobile internet and Hotspot browser alone.

Jul 5, 2010I am with orange and I have 500MB data per month. When I try and use the mobile network internet it says 'This is a WiFi service. Please ensure your device has an active wifi connection and try again'. Why is this? Also, when i try to update to 5.0 it says I need a data package but it worked on my old phone. And because of this I can't download the app world. The signal goes to SOS a lot as well but I think my house blocks the signal. Currently it says 'gprs' with 2 bars beside it.

Aug 11, 2010I have an ATT 8520 Curve unlocked to work with a tmobile sim card and have a few questions...Now that's unlocked I cant setup an external email account (hotmail, gmail, etc...) that icon is missing from the setup section. how can I get that feature? can I also use the bbm feature? I added a friend (and vice-versa) but it just stays as pending. is it possible to bbm? for the above 2 do i need to get the bb data plan so they can work? I've read elsewhere that the best way to get the features would be to load the tmobile handheld software. I went to tmobiles site, I enter my ph# - select the 8520 - click on handheld and it takes me to their 'shop for phones' page. I guess they now by the number that i dont currently have a bb. So I tried a friends ph# from tmobile who has a bb and it still took me to the 'shop for phones' page. So I Am hoping it's just a link glitch going on right now. I did download from this forum the 5.0 OS "8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL5.2.0.47_A5.0.0.509_W ind_Hellas.exe" which obviously is not tmobile. What would loading this different OS allow me to do? Or what features will I have available? and I have lowercase 'edge'.

But when I hook it up again to check in the media card if it is not really there anymore yet apparently they are still save in the card. So, I can just view my songs and pictures on the computer but not in my phone. What should I do to view them back in my phone?

I can't find any of them. I did reboot the phone, pulled the battery reinstalled the OS but then still having the same problem.

My friend is with Roger and he managed to setup his email via a wifi network, and I was wondering if this was possible for me too.
He told me to turn off my network, and have it so I'm only connected via Wifi, and then setup my email, but everytime I try, it tells me I have no network, and says I need to connect first. But since my network doesn't have an email data plan, it doesn't work.
