I found a Blackberry Curve 8520. I would like to return it to the owner, but the phone has been deactivated and blocked. Is there any way that I can find out who the owner is?

Lollipop 5.1 does not allow for screen widgets and there is no option in the security settings to display owner information on the lock screen.

One of my customers called me tonight saying she found an iphone in her front yard next to the sidewalk yesterday. She and her husband have iphones, and they have had the thing plugged in for a day on their charge cables, and haven't gotten any calls on it, and want to know if I can find out who it belongs to. The phone is locked, and I've talked to AT&T and they won't help me at all, and they won't take the phone and try and get it in touch with its owner from the card or anything.
Any help here? I know how to jailbreak etc, but I don't want to do a restore because I'm afraid it will lose the owners name for good then. I have a couple of iphones, and the darn things are anything but cheap, and I'm sure someone somewhere will want it back.Can I take the sim card out of it and get any owner information on it by plugging it into my jailbroken iphone or anything?
I recently purchased a previously used BlackBerry Curve 8330. The user who had owned it before me did not clear his information (including the email, Internet, and BBM settings). I do not know how to remove his information so that I can put mine in. I have tried to go to Email Settings and logging in, but it says my login isn't valid, so then I click on Create New and it tells me I cannot create a new account because there is already one on the device.

For my info, I have my name, my google voice number, and an email address.I previously had an app to do this, but with ICS I no longer need it. I mention this feature because of something that happened to me this weekend. I have an Android ICS tablet on which I've also entered the owner info. I left it in a public place this past weekend. Before I had even gotten back to my hotel, I had received emails and phone calls from the person who found the tablet, turned it on, and used the Owner Info to contact me.Saved me at least $300 it would have taken to replace it. Which wasn't the worst thing - I had taken the memory card out of my camera and put it in the tablet. I would have been extremely upset at losing of days worth of very important photos that could have never been replaced.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI miss the owner information on a Storm2 when the device is locked.Having upgraded from a Storm to a Storm2 using the DM Device Switch Wizard, there is no owner information showing.
The owner information and the blue screen shows quickly up when the device is booted but not when it is locked. Does anybody know how to get the owner info back showing up on a locked screen or has an idea for a workaround?
How do you change the menu options? And by menu, I mean when you use the drop down notification bar and tap the icon in the upper right. On mine, I have "Owner", Brightness, Settings, etc. I'd really like be able to silence my phone from this menu. There are more spaces, so I feel like I should be able to change what's on there. And also, how do I set myself as the owner?

I have send it to t-mobile, they send it to blackberry , multiple times, but they can't fix it. Now they say that blackberry blocked wifi and you can only go online when you pay for it. Is it at all possible that all my text msgs, pics, videos, and contacts list will still be accessible while IMEI blocked? But when I hook it up again to check in the media card if it is not really there anymore yet apparently they are still save in the card. So, I can just view my songs and pictures on the computer but not in my phone. What should I do to view them back in my phone?

I can't find any of them. I did reboot the phone, pulled the battery reinstalled the OS but then still having the same problem.

How do I make it save user names and passwords for logging in to secure web sites? We upgraded to the BB so that we could accept new orders on the fly, but the log in page for our client does not save the user name and password, and we have to type it in each time; it can mean the difference between getting the order or losing it to another vender.
I bought a 8900 curve blackberry from a guy in Romania Bucharest who said got it from Hungary. I activated blackberry email from my operator witch is Vodafone Romania but when I try to login on http://mobileemail.vodafone.ro/ to create my email this message appears: Your BlackBerry Internet Service Account is suspended or deactivated. Please contact your wireless service provider at 0725 and vodafone operator said the problem comes from RIM who is transmitting this message.

I also get messages saying my calls have been deactivated after only a few seconds incoming and outgoing. I have tried removing the battery and rebooting nothing seems to work.

I took the phone into a phone shop and they cleared the phone again but I am still receiving his emails. View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday I downloaded the 'crunchSMS' app, and enabled the firewall so that my texts would be redirected to the app. After trying the app I decided I didn't like it after all and uninstalled it so that i could go back to using the normal texting function on the blackberry. However, I forget to disable the firewall until just now, and when I did so it said there have been 8 text messages blocked by the firewall. When I disabled it, these texts did not reappear. A couple of them could be important and I could do with reading them - does anyone know how I can access these blocked messages?

Each time I regester and it says they will send me a code to verify I never get the code delivered to my hand set. I called my carrier and my short codes are not blocked and active but still nothing. View 4 Replies View RelatedBasically my Blackberry 8900 doesn't detect a SIM card even when there is a SIM Card in there. When it switches on it says "SIM card not found".When I go to Options -> Advanced Options -> SIM Card it says there is "No valid sim card". What is wrong? Also, the phone is 15 months old and I am on Orange UK. There should be a 2 year warranty on all electrical devices. Are Orange obliged to fix it or do I have to go direct to RIM?
