I just got my new bb curve today and tried many attempts on connection to the wifi but failed.I've used to Wi-Fi diagnostics, the status says Newwork acquired but VPN profile not found.

Now my device wont connect to my pc at all (doesn't pick up the device whatsoever), and the phone wont boot up, The only activity I get out of it is the LED flashing red once and then four times quickly.

And under the "Default Browser Configuration, I can see T-mobile internet and Hotspot browser alone.

Please ensure your device has an active wifi connection and try again'. Why is this? Also, when i try to update to 5.0 it says I need a data package but it worked on my old phone. And because of this I can't download the app world. The signal goes to SOS a lot as well but I think my house blocks the signal. Currently it says 'gprs' with 2 bars beside it.

Every time I dial out I get the message displayed 'Call Failed', and if someone tries to ring me they are sent straight to voicemail. All the solutions I've tried haven't worked and when I check the 'Mobile Voice' it says 'Not Connected' and 'Unavailable'. There is no red cross in the corner to indicate that it is barred either. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have several confounding issues. My new Curve 8530 will not boot. Nothing appears on the screen. The only thing it does is flash the red LED indicator once and then 4 quick consecutive times. In searching the forum, suggestions say to run apploader. However, I get stuck because my device can never be recognized by my computer!I was installing a factory update over the air. I cancelled the download because I thought doing it over Desktop Manager would be much faster. I connected the device via USB (for the first time ever). Drivers were recognized and were being installed. After a while, nothing happened with the device OR the computer. Now I have a brick of a phone that only blinks the LED at me. The device cannot be detected by my computer when I run apploader directly or through Desktop Manager. Yes, I have also tried fiddling with the Connection Options in DM.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI just received my 808 replaced by Nokia for the 3G bug issue. Now I have been noticing that annoying Connection Failed connection unavailable message every few seconds. Turned the positioning methods OFF and the frequency of the error message goes away but it still pops up every few minutes. I did a hard reset, removed the memory card where most of my apps are installed and it still gives me that same error. Ordered a new SIM to see if that makes any difference - none - Still same error message. That message is so annoying. Anyone have any other ideas that I could try ? Privacy mode is OFF also.

I did not have any problems with whatsapp at the beginning but when I tried to take a photo and send it, my bb rebooted and then I started having that problem. I tried deleting it and reinstalling it, but that didn't work. I tried it using the blackberry app world and using the browser as well.

Just upgraded from a pearl to a curve and al of a sudden am experiencing this apparently common problem.Sorry if this is a new topic on old subject but I am at end of my tether trying to find a solution. To date I have tried
Manual setup
Static IP
Phone restore
Battery removal
Sim removal
Router Restore
So, today, and purely for research purposes went to McDonalds for lunch and tried their Wifi (had a quarter pounder with cheese with sprite for those interested) and just like back at home, connects first time then drops then "failed to associate with network".I am on Orange with the Blackberry unlimited internet add on and everything worked fine with my pearl.Have tried Orange tech but , well the less said the better there.
I got a new Curve 8520 just resently and have a problem with my internet connection. I use my Curve without data plan/bis. To go in the internet I use Opera 5.0 and for Emails logicmail. To connect to the internet, I changed my APN according to my provider setting:
apn: internet (thats for o2 Germany)
No authentification
Username/PW: blank
On the first day, everything worked just fine, Opera aswell as Logicmail. I also had a EDGE symbol in the upper right corner. On the second date I found, that Opera and logicmail would not connect via Wifi. So I started to play around with settings. Anyway, since then Opera and Logicmail refused to connect via EDGE, however Wifi worked.... I could not figure out the ressons, so I tried to undo my setting changes. And yesterday I was finally able to connect via EDGE again. And here is the funny thing: This morning, I got the same errors agian, when trying to connect via EDGE. I did not do anything with the phone last night, it just refuses to connect. It still shows me the edge sign, but opera always tells me, that it is unable to connect. I set the application application permisson for both programs to "prompt" under the point "internet" to see if the phone even tries to connect, but it does not. Wifi still works fine. It seems that my Blackberry forgot about EDGE and always wants to connect via wifi.Can anyone help me out here?

View 1 Replies View Relatedso my next post. i reported some problems previously about my phone about BB app world not working unless its on wi fi as well as facebook and it specifies as something to do with service provider and data plans as problems, which they say everything is alright. as its too late for phone vodafone i thought i would try here first.
everything on my phone is working fine (BB messenger, emails, browsers, texts etc etc) but like i said app world and fb arent. App worlds works perfects whilst using wifi, but as soon as theres no wifi it stops working.
i found out that when i turn the wi fi off on the manage connections part and check the service status, under Blackberry Internet Service it says no connection. and im unsure how to change this. When the wi fi is on it says 'connection: wi fi'. and i was told when i turn this off it should turn to my service provider (vodafone) but it doesnt. so im guessing the main problem is something to do with this.any way to get it working

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've read around the forums and elsewhere but haven't found a solution yet Have an 8350i and with the Mobile network off (Nextel) I turn on wifi (both at home and at work) and it connects to the network, icon is white not gray Data service is on and was working before (had the phone for 9 months). I recently connected to desktop manager for the first time and updated all available programs,firmwares, etc, I'm assuming this is the root of the problem. Gmail and Facebook apps won't connect, (you need a working data connection bla bla) and same with Browser app.Any solution that doesn't involve downgrading, wiping clean? (I've pulled the battery, turned wifi on and off with no results)
