So, today, and purely for research purposes went to McDonalds for lunch and tried their Wifi (had a quarter pounder with cheese with sprite for those interested) and just like back at home, connects first time then drops then "failed to associate with network".I am on Orange with the Blackberry unlimited internet add on and everything worked fine with my pearl.Have tried Orange tech but , well the less said the better there.

View 3 Replies View Relatednew Torch is unable to associate with my work wifi network when it uses WEP password. If I change wifi network to WPA password, then it works (But I cannot change it because the network is unsing WDS and it isn't compatible with WPA).
My old BB Pearl 8120 works fine with same network using WEP password. Therefore, what's happenign with Torch wifi?. Is there any wifi upgrade for Torch? For your information, the wifi router is an SMC Barricade-N (SMCWBR14-N)
I have tried almost everything. I'm desesperate. Torch is giving connections problems also with my wifi home network and also with my bluetooth handfree car system. If there isn't a solution soon I will have to change it for another mobile.
I am trying to get my torch 9810 to connect to my home wi-fi network and get the error "Failed to associate with the network". My wifes curve connects fine, and my old curve connected fine too. i upgraded and restored my data setups etc from a backup, but it hasnt worked since.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI cannot connect the phone to my home internet. I have set up the details including the SSID and key/password but each time I try to connect it staes "Failed to associate with the Network".Vodaphone say it is a fault with the phone or my home internet provider but my hubby has a Blackberry and has no problem connecting his to our home internet. I have specifically got this phone for my teenage daughter who uses BBM and the internet mainly whilst in the house and as she can only use the inbuilt Vodaphone 250mb data allowance she will hit her limit in next to no time. Really need the phone to connect to the house internet.Have tried turning off, taking battery and sim out and starting up again but it doesnt help.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've read around the forums and elsewhere but haven't found a solution yet Have an 8350i and with the Mobile network off (Nextel) I turn on wifi (both at home and at work) and it connects to the network, icon is white not gray Data service is on and was working before (had the phone for 9 months). I recently connected to desktop manager for the first time and updated all available programs, firmwares, etc, I'm assuming this is the root of the problem. Gmail and Facebook apps won't connect, (you need a working data connection bla bla) and same with Browser app.Any solution that doesn't involve downgrading, wiping clean? (I've pulled the battery, turned wifi on and off with no results)
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm using Curve 8900 os5.0.0.592 on vodafone. My phone had a problem with its speakerphone and I had to have it replaced. It was replaced at a backdoor repair because in Zimbabwe there are no registered blackberry® technicians. The speakerphone is now functioning but the wifi is no-longer scanning. Just wanted to ask if the two are by any chance related. Also BBS are not available in Zimbabwe so I rely on wifi when I want to use the browser.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had a Curve since March and loved it. However this past month I've been having difficulty accessing wifi with it, something that was not an issue for me before. I'm with a data plan that isn't full data. I can only use Twitter/Facebook/IM Services. No email or browsing. When I want to use these things I connect to my home wifi and use that. Worked perfectly for the first few months. However now when I click email or browser on my phone with wifi turned on and it says it's connect to the network I get the following message:You are currently on a service plan that requires a Wi-Fi connection to this this application. If you want to use this application outside WiFi provider please contact your service provider.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI started to ask for help from the forum then solved it my self, so here is the problem AND below, the answer: I am trying to connect my 9300 to my home WiFi network ( LinkSys WRT54GS V4.0 router). The Curve can see my home Network when I scan but the connection brakes immediately, give an error message like it couldn't associate with the network.
I have spent hours waiting for and talking to: Telus: who reviewed my phone setup and told me the problem must be with the cable providerShaw Cable: who told me they had nothing to do with it and it must be a problem with my routerLinkSys: who told me that since my laptop had no problem seeing the internet that it must be my phone.....Then I tried RIM but couldn't find anything of help except (my last hope) the forums, where I found some inspiration and kept lookingMy Black Berry Curve 9300 is set up as follows: Options: Mobile Services > Data Services 'Off' (I don't want to run up big data bills unintentionally with pay-as-you-go data)Options > Advanced > Browser > HotspotUnder Manage Connections:Mobile Network: 'Telus' (has checkmark after),Wi-Fi 'On' (has black box with white line after)Manage Connections > Wi-Fi Options > Active Wi-Fi Connection = None (even after finding & saving my Network profile)Finally, I updated my Router software. It didn't help but I did learned how to back up my settings (Router Software > Administration > Config Management > Backup)
(Settings = all my addresses for the MAC filter etc. & other non default settings I'd made to increase wireless security)
I have a home WiFi network and can connect my BB 8520 curve to it successfully and it is able to browse and use apps etc. How-ever everyday or two even though it remains connected to WiFi it suddenly is not able to browse. I need to restart the BB or Router or both and then it reconnects and can browse again. What could be causing this ?I am unable to add or be added to other BB's in terms of using the IM. Contacts that I am trying to add remain in pending (waiting for authorization). I do not have a data plan with my 3G network provider as I only want to use data related functions when connected to my home Wi-Fi. What could be causing the problem?

Is there a simple way for me to tell if I am using the wifi network at home? Is the wifi icon on top right corner of browser the indication. I am trying to make my wife feel comfortable that is OK to surf as she wishes while at home.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Blackberry Storm 2 has been working perfectly last week. I was able to connect to any wifi services without any trouble. But last night, we bought a new Wireless Router and things started to get really frustrating. When I tried connecting to the new Wireless Router it was detected but gave me an error message "Reason: failed to associate with the network." I do not understand why and how it happened. So, I went back to using the old Wireless Router and it showed me that same error. I tried to Hard Reset (removing the battery) and also I tried to Restore the Wifi Settings to Default but it did not work.
