My model is 8520 Curve.
1) I can't configure my personal email because in config panel I only see "blackberry enterprise server" insted the manual represents
2 menu. Why?
2) when I try to connect to internet opening the browser, it appers that I should have Wi-Fi connection on. But has my model GPRS/EDGE connection?
I am currently unable to connection to my internet hub. Why is this as i have tried numerous different ways to resolve the problem, like attempting to restart the connection, reset my device, restarted my mobile connections, ect. to no good.

Please ensure your device has an active wifi connection and try again'. Why is this? Also, when i try to update to 5.0 it says I need a data package but it worked on my old phone. And because of this I can't download the app world. The signal goes to SOS a lot as well but I think my house blocks the signal. Currently it says 'gprs' with 2 bars beside it.

It didn't use to do this and only started when I set up my phone to receive my work emails. It's annoying because it makes a whistling sound even if the phone is on vibrate. I don't know how to change this setting and I'm not sure what even triggers it to make the whistling sound. I can't show my IT guy because I don't know what makes it whistle and he never seems to be around when it does whistle (he thinks I'm crazy now).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry Curve 8520 which has been working normally for nearly a year now. Yesterday morning I found that most things were not working. I also found icons for 'music sync' and games on there that weren't there before, which I have since removed. I don't know whether this is related in any way.
My twitter app says 'Twitter services are currently unavailable', my facebook app says 'A connection cannot be established to the Facebook server', my browser says 'Unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your service provider.' My BBM messages are not sending to others and when I try and send an email, the red X appears and the message status is 'Service blocked'.
Is there an APP or setting to keep a hotel internet connection open? I find that as soon as the phone sleeps, the connection is lost and I have to resubmit the connection policy that is usually associated with connecting to a hotel internet connection.

Then I tried using hotmail and it worked fine (but my hotmail is full of spam so I want to get my Yahoomail to work). It said that I have the username or password wrong. View 9 Replies View RelatedI just got my new Bold9700 and am trying to set it up and failing completely. Part of this may be because I am in Costa Rica. The primary problem is that it is connecting to a WiFi network, but not to a BlackBerry Internet Service. I have a data plan, I am linked to a network here (called I.C.E), and I am connected to a WiFi network, but it will not open due to the lack of Internet Service connection.
My phone is apparently locked, but I am using a USA SIM card, not a Costa Rican one. Do I need to unlock my phone in order to connect to the Internet Server here? As a result of this connection, I also cannot access email or set up BBM.
I've recently bought a Nokia 5800 xm and have been able to connect it to my home internet using the wlan wifi.
I can only use the wifi if i go to settings>connectivity>wlan. If i go straight to internet, it tries to connect to t-mobile internet. This also happens when trying to use applications such as bbc iplayer and the ovi store.
Is there a way of setting the wifi connection as the default connection? If not, is there a way of setting up my applications so they connect using wifi?
I am a new user with a Curve 8530. I have brightness set to 10 but I see it can dim lower automatically. Is there a way to force it to the lowest possible setting?

1- I can recieve/send from my BB but in the Gmail folder on my BB (the envelope with a globe thingy) I only see what I recieve. Is there a way to see everything like with my hotmail, yahoo and BB accounts?
2- How do I set up filters to recieve only personal emails using the BIS website? I entered the add filters and selected not to push emails exception Personal and didn't recieve anything.
I have a Blackberry Curve (8530) from Verizon and within the last 24 hours my phone has gone from being fully functional to not functioning at all. First, my speakerphone stopped working, then I lost all sounds (ringing, alerts, etc) yet the vibrate setting still works, and now my trackpad has frozen to where I can't navigate the phone at all. I can still make calls by typing in the number or using my programmed numbers on the keys and I can still receive calls as well, but if I try and navigate using the trackpad, I can't move off of the sounds icon.About 4 days ago, I downloaded the new OS software when my phone prompted me to and when these problems started happening, I did a "soft" reset (alt+right shift+del) and a "hard" reset (removed the battery) which not solve any of the problems. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas about how I can fix these problems outside of going to the Verizon store and waiting hours to get help?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have an ATT 8520 Curve unlocked to work with a tmobile sim card and have a few questions...Now that's unlocked I cant setup an external email account (hotmail, gmail, etc...) that icon is missing from the setup section. how can I get that feature? can I also use the bbm feature? I added a friend (and vice-versa) but it just stays as pending. is it possible to bbm? for the above 2 do i need to get the bb data plan so they can work? I've read elsewhere that the best way to get the features would be to load the tmobile handheld software. I went to tmobiles site, I enter my ph# - select the 8520 - click on handheld and it takes me to their 'shop for phones' page. I guess they now by the number that i dont currently have a bb. So I tried a friends ph# from tmobile who has a bb and it still took me to the 'shop for phones' page. So I Am hoping it's just a link glitch going on right now. I did download from this forum the 5.0 OS "8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL5.2.0.47_A5.0.0.509_W ind_Hellas.exe" which obviously is not tmobile. What would loading this different OS allow me to do? Or what features will I have available? and I have lowercase 'edge'.
