Brand new 8520 on vodafone PAYG UK. email setup wizard says select option "I want to create or add an email address" but the only option available is "I want to use a work email............" which I don't. Have not setup WIFI yet could this be the cause?
I have an ATT 8520 Curve unlocked to work with a tmobile sim card and have a few questions...Now that's unlocked I cant setup an external email account (hotmail, gmail, etc...) that icon is missing from the setup section. how can I get that feature? can I also use the bbm feature? I added a friend (and vice-versa) but it just stays as pending. is it possible to bbm? for the above 2 do i need to get the bb data plan so they can work? I've read elsewhere that the best way to get the features would be to load the tmobile handheld software. I went to tmobiles site, I enter my ph# - select the 8520 - click on handheld and it takes me to their 'shop for phones' page. I guess they now by the number that i dont currently have a bb. So I tried a friends ph# from tmobile who has a bb and it still took me to the 'shop for phones' page. So I Am hoping it's just a link glitch going on right now. I did download from this forum the 5.0 OS "8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL220.127.116.11_A18.104.22.1689_W ind_Hellas.exe" which obviously is not tmobile. What would loading this different OS allow me to do? Or what features will I have available? and I have lowercase 'edge'.
I have had my curve for over a year now on my Orange contract. I have just been given a new Sim Card by my company. This Sim card is with Vodafone. I got my phone unlocked and the new Sim card is working fine for everything but emails. There isnt even an option to set-up the email accounts!!
I contacted Vodafone and they said that the phone had already been registered with an email server. Which it has beacause i was using it with my other Orange contract. All they could suggest was buying a new handset!! But surely that means if anyone sells their blackberry handset, the new owner wont be able to use email, this cant be right.
Email setup? When I go to the Email Accounts setup page, it explains that I can activate my enterprise account by entering my email address and activation password. I'd be happy to do that, if I had an enterprise account, which I believe (cld. be wrong) is what companies use. I'm just an ordinary user, not using the phone via my company - but I can't see any other option on the setup page. Is there another way I can setup email?
I want to setup email connection. On this 9360 I do not have any Connection Assistant so I use "setup" mode and "mail accounts" options. Usually (as on my previous Curve 8520) I used to have two options when entering there :
- Use my own email address (personal address) or create a new one - Use my Enterprise email address
But when I launch Email setup on my curve 9360, I have only the Enterprise option so that I Cannot setup email! My 9360 runs under OS 7.
I live in Panama, and I use Telefonica services.Currently I have two accounts already set up on my phone, one is hotmail and the other of my university where I live.I want to add a new email account at Setup-Email Settings and it send me to the page = if you want to access your email settings or you changed your device log in. how can I add a new email account?

I am trying to setup my email on this phone but there seems to be no way. When I go to manage internet email it takes me right to the t-mobile homepage and under email setup my only option is to use a work account on a blackberry enterprise server.
I have a new BB working with t mobile but not with a plan only with refill and I don't know if this is a problem for to set an email account on my blackberry??, I have access to wi if in some places. If is not a problem I can tell you that I never see the option on my blackberry offer me to create an account or add an account on the BB only says in email setups this " I want to use a work email acc with a BB Enterprise Server." that is the unique option that appear on the phone. I got my first Blackberry ever yesterday. I've been wanting one for years but I finally got it and I cannot set up my email or download any apps. Each time I got to setup the email the only option is 'I want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server' But I don't. And I know to download apps you have to download the app world. I did it via the desktop but apparently my phone is compatible?
I bought a Curve 8520 today, and I want to set it up to access my existing AOL email account. Is this possible? How do I do it? and why do I keep being asked for an Enterprise Server password/code - what is it and where do I find it. Also, while we're getting all techy, my son has a curve and he has fb, twitter yahoo etc on his download icon, but I don't.
I got my first BB (8520) two weeks ago, and I still have not managed to get the email and MMS setup. If I go to messages, there is only SMS and email, no MMS options.. And when I try to set the email there is only the Enterprise option, I wanna set it up with my gmail.
I bought a used 8530 for my Verizon service. When going through setup the phone only gives me the option of setting up email with a Blackberry email account. On my old Blackberry Pearl I was allowed to setup Gmail in the same page. What do I need to do to get Gmail setup and running?I was told that it may take a few hours for the data stuff to kick in from Verizon. Does that have anything to do with not being able to set up Gmail? I do have a Blackberry data plan.
I recieved my Curve 8520 6 days ago and I am still waiting on my service provider contacting me about the Blackberry Tariff HOWEVER when setting up my phone using the Wizard Setup I did not have two options for the email setup, only Enterprise Email Activation...I have never had one, this is my first Blackberry. How do I apply the other option of Add An Email Address? Or does this mean that the phone has been used by someone else (even though it was bought from my service provider "brand new"), or a fault has arisen? What can be done?
I have a new-to-me device, after my original Curve 8530 had to be sent back to the carrier. I restored old settings from a backup re Desktop Manager, but now there are messaging problems. One, my setup folder doesn't have an e-mail setup option. Two, in "Email Reconciliation" option, only chloice I have is to change the e-mail account on "Message Services" drop-down. Related to that, if I'm in "messages," my Options screen lacks "Reconcile Now."
Just taken delivery of my first Blackberry. I'm trying to configure email for my hotmail account but the only option I'm getting is : "I want to use a work email account with a blackberry enterprise server" How do I get the option "Create New Account"?
